Anyway I intend to start W40k at the end of this month and I've decided to go Dark Eldar simply because from what I've read of the Codex and how they look now make them highly appealing to me. What I intend to get is an army ranging from 1500-2000 points to start off with, I personally don't mind how much money I'm putting into it since I've been meaning to start it for a while. I used to collect LOTR when it pretty much first came out and I was pretty young, such a long time ago I can barely recall any of the rules, I digress.

What I'm trying to say is that I'd like suggestions on a 1500-2000 point Dark Eldar army, how exactly to play them and such. If it helps at all the two people I'll probably be playing against is a Dark Angels player and an Imperial guard player who seems to prefer vehicles over anything else. Another reason I want to go Dark Eldar is that they seem to be played very little where I live and I have heard they would be a terrible starting army for me, thus why I ask for the help of any great Dark Eldar player out there that can give me some suggestions to my army list!
Thanks in advance.

Hello!

If you want WAAC look up DashofPeppers various tactics/battle reports. Another user (i think Ketara) did a slightly inferior run down of the units which is also good if you literally dont know where to start. I would recommend filling your elite choices with 3 units of 4 Trueborn warriors with blasters riding in 3 of those nice new venoms. Wyches are a solid choice for troops but warriors are good as well but just not quite as awesome.

Welcome to Dakka! I just Switched from Black Templar to DE just over a month ago, (Damn Marines are too boring to play and paint!) If your looking for a challenge you got one! I played my first game with them just a short time ago and they are extremely powerful! But like im sure everyone has said they are a glass cannon, deal lots of hurt, but if you screw up it's very unforgiving. Read dashofpeppers tac and go from there, I was amazed when i got the codex and found that GW had put a short DE tactica in the back of the book for noobs, check it out if you haven't already!

Hey
Welcome to Dakka!
Load up on Ravagers, Venoms, Raiders, Haemonculi, Wyches and Trueborn. They are the most common and universaly useful units in the codex.
