Fresh-Faced New User

Hi all. Been into 40k for a few years, I'm still inexperienced at actually playing. My past armies include Imperial Guard, Tyranids and Chaos Space Marines. I'm currently starting my 4th army, the delightful Orks. I'm unsure on what direction to take them, although a friend is building a Grey Knights army, so if I can get my boyz to beat them, I know I'll be on the right track! Looking forward to searching the forums for any advice and ideas I can get.

The Big Book of Purplefood agrees with the advice that n0t_u has given, and i quote The Big book of Purplefood, Volume 1, section 35, article 6. page 23 paragraph 2. wrote:Ork armies always need more boyz. Whether this is due to the errors in their HR department or a more competetive job offer from a rival army/universe is unknown. What is known for certain that Ork armies never have enough of 2 things:
Primarily they lack in Boyz.
Secondary to this they lack in Dakka.
Recently theorising theorists have theorised* that whereas Ork armies can have enough Boyz the need for more Dakka is actually a universal constant bringing us up to 5 this month.
*Note: The theorists department of theorising theories has been lacking lately. Choose 5 of them and execute them at random intervals over the course of a month. If this fails we can fall back on alternative methods'
