I ordered some stuff from Wayland Games after seeing people reccomend the site on dakka. So far the service has been terrible, mainly the fact that the order is taking what seems (compared to everythign else I've ever ordered offline) painfully slow delivery.
Has anyone else had probles with them or am I just unlucky?

I have ordered two Infinity armies from them and they always arrive on time and very well packaged. I live in the US, so orders typically take 3-5 days to be shipped, then about 2 weeks until they get to me. I do not think this is unreasonable. Being that you are in the UK, I would imagine your items would ship much faster. How long has it been exactly?

I've found that it takes ages for GW stuff as do many of my friends locally. We hypothesise that they wait until they get orders then stock it rather than having items in stock already. I know I've even ordered warmachine things from them that are in stock only to have the it removed from my order as it's out of stock... I use darksphere now.

I've had a mixed experience so far. Last month, I placed 2 orders for paints and supplies. They were shipped the day after I placed the order, and arrived the day after that, absolutely fine.
Late last month I placed an order with everything apparently in stock, it wasn't until I opened a ticket with them a week later that they informed me that they didn't have the stock of several items, even though their site still says they do. They refunded that order, and let me place another one with substitutions with no hassle however. I suggest you get in touch with them, they're quite prompt with their customer service.

It's not always down to Wayland games you know, it's down to Royal Mail and the way they handle packages.
And ofcourse the postman can just leave things behind if they have too much post to deliver.

They are sometimes quick, sometimes not so quick. It depends on many factors, not least of which what you order. Bear in mind they are restricted to re-stocking from GW once per week so if you ordered GW stuff, that needs to be factored in.
I have found their website to be not so good at tracking stock - stuff shows as available when it isn't and so forth. They are updating their website soon so hopefully that issue will be stamped on.
But generally speaking, their prices are competitive and the service is pretty good. As with anything, if you want the discount, the trade off is the time to deliver. If you want it yesterday, then order from the manufacturer directly and pay the full price. You have to decide what is more important to you; saving money, or receiving goods quickly.

I'd agree - even on stuff their site says is in stock (for several weeks before and after you place your order I've noted ) is never actually in stock.

Aye. Expect that there might be a delay with GW stuff, because they still need to acquire it.
But if you are like me and have time (and, also, no alternatives because the other stores have no paypal and because of an umlaut in my hometown's name the card doesn't work at english webstores) they are good enough.

Hi ReturningPlayer
Could you please raise a helpdesk ticket at http://support.waylandgames.co.uk/, a member of staff will be able to give you a far better idea of where your order is!
Thanks

I placed an order on Jan 28 myself, for a Mantic undead army and a Dark Elf Queen from avatars of war.
Not had any movement on that either. Would love to ask what the hold up is, but the above link doesn't work. (edit, it does, it is just picky about when it will work)
Kinda curious as to why I would need to register on http://support.waylandgames.co.uk to use that? Seems a bit off, why have 2 sites requiring registration for one company?

Having a support account is, sadly, standard on many websites. I think it is so you can have a different name and password to use the support site in case your regular account gets hacked, and then recover your regular account. I think most people just copy the information over, though, so in most cases I would say it's just a waste of time.

I have ordered 2x with them.... Fastest shipment I have ever seen and I have used 5-6 online retailers...
I was buying DE stuff so most likely was in stock, Im sure if I ordered WHFB Dwarf Hammerers though it would have slowed it down,

Has it shipped? If it has shipped and is taking a long time, then it's not Wayland's fault.

I think it's just bad luck in many cases, as I have had the opposite to this scenario. Wayland was great for service, took around a week to get to me, and when an item was missing they were not only helpful but very fast in sorting it. Dark Sphere though, I had to ticket twice as emails weren't being read about the order, even registration went haywire. Think in the end you're impressions will be from your first orders with people and how they handle problems when they arise, hence I'll pay the extra 5% for the service in the future in all probablity .But best thing, just ticket Wayland, and go from there

GW have a stupid stock ordering policy, that means if you order something they (or anyone else) doesn't have in stock, it could potentially take almost 2 weeks before it arrives with them, plus packing and shipping time.
I've used them several times now, and have absolutely no complaints, but there are factors at work outside their control. If you're concerned that they're a dodgy company, don't be, your money is safe and you will get your stuff!

I got a response to my question via their support, so I have an idea of when I will get my order. They are expecting stock next week, this could be down to a slow response from Mantic themselves of course.
Is a 3 week wait ideal? Nope, but I am paying £43 for 110 undead models, compare it to £45 for 30 GW Skeletons.. I think it is worth the wait.

What's also nice: I got an extra blister or two, one two occasions where I had to wait really long for my order. That was a really nice touch.

They fixed their loyalty system btw, I lucked out this time, but it will work for future purchases.
Well it shipped yesterday, now just have to wait for it to arrive.
Kinda expect first class parcels to arrive the next day, but i'll wait and see, no sign so far.
And arrived.
The revenants are a damned sight more impressive than they look on the site, the whole undead range is for that matter.

Sent for the Pegasus hobbies technobridge from Wayland games last week.Five buisness days have gone past, according to them they have stock. I'm waiting for my order to get to the top of the pile so they can get round to sending it.
That was the explanation I was sent today as according to the account history on their site my order is awaiting stock! I will wait another four buisness days after that I'll cancell and try for a refund!

Unfortunately, they need to do it all nice and legal - otherwise they have wasted the time and resources they are sinking into it.
Legal means glacially slow, unfortunately.
Grow some patience.
This is what it used to be like pre-internet ordering. When it was called "mail order" (snail order).

I ordered two of the limited edition crimson fist space marine from wayland today, where they had 20 in stock at the time of ordering. I await them patiently!
I think its common practice among online retailers to say an item is in stock but it actually isn't,who polices that after all?, i have ordered from other discount wargames websites, only to ring up a week later (sometimes the item is marked as dispatched) and have them say "oh we are waiting on that coming in on delivery"
So i just wait, im not prepared to pay full price in GW nor pay the fuel/public transport and parking to get the instant gratification.

I'm already waiting two weeks and my order is not even shipped. Seems some alternative heads from Pig Iron Studios are still missing (I bet the cadian battleforce is already at stock, GWS is usually not that slow).
It's ok that things have to be restocked, but then do not guarantee shipping within 3-9 days - it seems that is just an assumption and means "whenever ...", that green orb suggests everything's there in time - which is not.
Another shippment of Crystals was shipped pretty fast though, had them in stock I guess.
