Hi guys and gals! I have been inspired by Inmygravenimage's deathwatch painting comp! I entered but was unable to finish in time so i thought i'd host my own to have a bit of fun and see what you all come up with!

The theme for the competition is 'Squad Leader' this is so you can lavish some attention on single character and it can be from any race or force from Marines to Deamons! it just needs to be recognizable as the leader or sarge from that squad.

Judging will be done by myself, Kitch102 and Gitsplitta and you all have about a month to get it painted, entries close on 18th of October and results will be posted soon after
the judging will be done from a score of 100 on each of these categories:

* Overall paintjob
* Techniques used
* The pose of the model (doesn't have to be a huge conversion but needs suitable for the theme)
* Basing
* Does the model inject a feeling of cinematics and convey his role within the force?

And now for the Trophy! why the 'Golden Bathtub' you may ask? well, while trying to think of something a bit different and a great way to have some fun and a couple of laughs along the way, i was trying to think of something recognizable as a Nerdfest09 prize! I kept coming across comments about my bathtub picture when i washed my battle board! so I decided to sculpt my own trophy for the occasion to make it nice and special! and that way each year i can do another 'Golden' trophy if enough people are keen!

So, without further adieu, now the unveiling of the trophy: the 2012 'Golden Bathtub' for which you will be competing!

gosh! what an amazing and most unique prize! god... do i really have the time to join another competition? as i am building atm a prize for an earlier comp... and joined two comps already???...but this comp should most definatly have more airtime... will support it at least now in my thread too!

I do hope it brings joy to someone with a fancy collection of golden nerds! could look good on a shop awning above a Nuka Cola machine out front of a bath shop?

Aren't grotz leaders the runtherds? I'm not sure if they have little leaders?

This looks like fun. I am new to the forum, but I would like to participate! I am working on some small squads of oooold Necromunda figs to incorporate into an inquisitor band/Steel Legion army...Gives me an idea for a Van Saar juve fig I found in my bits box yesterday...

The Red Gobbo? Good luck. That model is so rare. And expencive on Ebay.

But yeah there is a Runtherd model and a Slaver model.

Infact... I'm in. And I'll be painting my Runtherd. Gotta get him done at some point anyway.

Edit: Do we have to provide pics of the model before painting? To prove it is, infact, being painted for the contest?

I got one of ebay for £8 I was lucky most go for a lot more, nice model though

had a look at the evil barter... and they sell that itme for around 35 ish...
