Howdy

Always wanted to have an Eldar army. It's elves... in space... actually it's pretty elves in space, what more could I want!

Ahem, right, my paint scheme is going to focus on table top quality standard, since I love to see fast progression on my projects, as well as being able to play with them, i.s.o. waiting months for the models to be painted. I also want to do or continue with other projects, so faster paint scheme is a must.

I am going to try for a different colour scheme - an off-white/bone and purple scheme, with small bright blue the contrast colour to pink out eyes and soul stones. For my vehicles I am going to copy the Sam-hein colour patterns (black stripes on red replaced with purple stripes over the off-white colour.) "Black" on my models will be purple mixed with a lot of black, ie dark purple.

My priority at this stage is still to finish my nids, but in the mean time I am going to get more elder goodies and start building.

Here is my elder stuff that I bought last year, but never go around to painting them:

Have bought some a bunch of 2nd hand models today for a very good price, but will get them later in the month.

This is my test model that I painted. Very pleased and happy with the outcome, although I will ad more black to the purple for the gun:

Ok, going to slowly apply my colour scheme to a Fire Prism.

Small steps at a time.

Ok, did some more work on the model.

First up was after the first wash and paint of ushabti bone.

Then a wash with some added highlights:

Finally, extreme highlights with white 'contaminated' with a small amount of ushabti bone. Also, added white wash to raised areas.

Will start with the crystals, going for a teal colour in stead off blue for ultimate contrast.

Thanks

Busy painting the black parts. I can honestly say i now understand why they paint the model apart before gluing it together. Will defenitly do it to the next fire prism and wave serpants.

Appreciate the comment!

Ok, Fire Prism is done! Waiting for some bases to arrive before I will take some decent pics. Also, for the next one I am definitely painting the top and bottom parts separately!

Very nice work - that crystal looks amazing. How did you do that?

Also, liking the colour scheme a lot. It would look great on wraith constructs, do you have any of those planned?

Did you know? The Reach belongs to the Forsworn.

Hmmmm... your scheme is very similar to mine, but much nicer looking...

Haven't really uploaded many images yet (still painting up my (metal) Wraithguard, but one pic of some terrain here includes an antique War Walker...

Spoiler:

Though guards may sleep and ships may lay at anchor, our foes know full well that big guns never tire.

I just had to. With the stock restrictions GW imposed, i dont know when the flgs will ever get. Heck, they only got about 3 riptides in, sold out. Will start some assembling maybe this week.

Very nice Brakkos! Gorgeous looking tank, and personally I find bone a tricky colour, but you seem to have found a good method.

Great work so far. What stands out the most (in a good way) are the way you paint the crystals 'charging' and the canopies. Very good start. Thanks for sharing and looking forward to more stuff.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.
