Well I got the start of the head done. Not too sure about it. Thinking of going with six eyes (3 each side, triangle pattern) and fixing up the neck a little building into armour on the shoulders. Mostly smoothing though.

The mouth is the way I want it so I can represent some of the upgrades the grinders are capable of. I think I show it better on this than the actual model gun wise now.

Might also need to thicken up the head tendril and make it more gradual from the top of the head. I just wasn't too sure what to do with it and have been throwing this thing together as it's going.

Also for the circle on the back.

Angled like that as well, for the other leg I'm either going to GS it or cut a leg to fit.

Tomorrow I should be picking up the base and then I can get to work on the leg tendrils if there's room. I'm pretty sure there isn't room and this is bigger than the actual grinder though.
The original plan was for them to come out of the parts the wave serpent fins used to. Lastly I'll think about attempting to sculpt flames out the back of the engines, similar to this I did before.

Welp back to Eldar for now. Got the grinder's base and also picked up a box of the new Wraithguard. Cause I've been wanting to do a wraithguard army since about 2009.

Only built the one so far. I decided to use the thigh plates the wraithblade varients have on the guard as well since I think it makes it look a bit better. The head fins I've decided I'll never use unless I decide to make special leader ones per squad. Not that they can actually have one, just for looks.

They're a decent size as well, here it is with Sgt. Strippy.

And new idea for colour scheme.

I like this blue a lot, why don't I have an army in the colour.
Maybe splash around a bit more white as well. Green gems fit in and make me feel I should go for more grassy basses or go with swampy bases like my Malifaux crew.

Though then I'd suppose the guard would sink a little into it so I don't know.

Hmm plastic wraithguard. Tempting enough to make me want to start an Eldar army. (on top of the other half a dozen odd armies i have planned but have no cash for)

Finished putting together the rest. Kit is rather static, but its possible to bring at least some life to them without having to cut and repose parts.

As for the Farseer from before, they're now a Spiritseer.

And I've been kicking around a possible list in the army list section.
This is version two of it:
Spiritseer
Farseer

5 Wraithguard
5 Wraithguard
5 Wraithguard
Dscythe
5 Wraithguard
Dscythe

Wraithknight
Wraithknight

Leaving me with 110 points left for something. I could give the knights dual starcannons each to go with the 36" range of their hwc giving I believe 2 s10 ap2, 4 s6 ap2 shots a turn. Then I'd have 30 points left to probably get something like wards of witnessing and I guess warding since I'd have the 15 left over, or just get Faolchu's wing (can run up to 48" ) to reposition the Farseer if needed. Or I could drop the Dscythes from one squad and just get 5 more Wraithguard in there.

Oh and last night I ordered some new chessex dice for these guys. Was going to get some for the Daemons, but these looked pretty nice as well.

Ones I was looking at for Daemons were these.

You tempt to me start a small wraith-dar force...

I'm actually amazed that the wraithguard are only $55, seeming they are larger than termis

I know, I'm scared too. I checked on the discount ebay store I've started to use... they actually cost 60c more and I'd have to wait for shipping...

huh.

Speaking of that I should probably check the discount ebay store I use...

It's $50 USD, $55 AUD and $60 CAD for the kit. I started using a US one and got the codex for about $45 thanks to an ebay voucher. If you managed to find a UK one since it's £30 it'd work out the same price as the US one since that $5 saving would be completely covered by shipping.

Here's the squad ready to be primed now.

I also decided on the bases. Figured I should keep them like the ranger and the spiritseer from before, but added in some flock.

At first it was just the burnt grass cause with the rest of it I was going for this barren ashland scheme, but it looked a little plain and there were little bits of glue still exposed after the grass went on, so i added a drop more in this crack on the base then added in the green grass as well.

That spirit seer is really nice, I know I've seen it earlier, but still it's a beautiful finished look on it. Like the wraith guard, can't wait to see your paint scheme realized.

Well I'm hoping they look alright already. Since they're larger I'm planning on learning how to airbrush with them later. But this first one will be done by brush still. Tried thinning my paints a bit more and trying to get better at wet blending. Autoadjusting the image in the Dakka gallery was the only way I could get a pic to look like it does in person.

I'm thinking these will have to have some outside pics. The lamp I tried using just makes the pictures come out orange and flash has worked in the past, but with darker colours like this it sort of wrecks it. I also have some LED torches I could try out with it.

Took some pics out in the nice sun. Probably the nicest pics I've taken.

Highlighted it, did the gems and such. This is pretty much done now I just need to add the flock to the base and touch up some parts I may have missed.

Just managed to fit a second update in today. That's two updates a day two days in a row now.

Finished off the first one, washed and played with the gold on it a bit more until I was happy with it. Then got about halfway through the second one, sort of trying a different method. So far I'm not liking it as much at the moment. I'll try to darken it a bit. The gold is a bit different as well going with a paler colour.

Also I think the bases could use a little less green grass in with the burnt. I want it to look like its starting to come back, but with this ratio it's kind of like its starting to die.

Just have the gems to go now on the second, I managed to darken it a bit and highlighted again. I'm happy with the blue on it now.

Gold however will go back to the other type on the first one. Maybe shuffled around, I don't know.

I also took the finished wraith by itself out of the picture earlier and uploaded it as its own, finally giving this craftworld its own completed gallery instead of just hanging around in the general Eldar wip one I have.
Decided not to be lazy and just took its own picture instead. Saves on the boring background.

I like the look of them both, I love blue, and wraiths!

Great job with the gems, never realised wraiths had so many of them...

The Eldar have gems where the Imperials and chaos have skulls.

I like the blue and brass combo. It's an interesting mix thats for sure.

I like he first more than the second for the gold color. That color pattern really does pop well

Alright, I'll adjust the second's gold. I'm kind of a fan of that one as well, plus it matches the dice more.

actually i am more in favor towards the second gold version...looks more scratched... but i would like to see that scheme a bit more lighter in hue... atm i think the gems and the armor all look rather dark... but dont get me wrong... still all very good looking!

oh... correct me if i am wrong... but wasnt there supposed to be some white in the scheme as well???

Nomad Reverend Custodiers from Infinity. The left arm was a modified spear from the DE raider with part of the Wave Serpent sensor thing, I think.

Also while I remember, if I ever take them Sun Tze 2.0 would probably make a decent Yriel.

Yep.

Finished off the second one now.

I'm much happier with the base. The model overall is maybe a bit brighter than the first still. The knee is still a weak point.

Also considering how the blues I've been using are more or less out or almost completely dried out now, I've replaced them with these. So mini supply drop.

I think these would also go a bit better in an air brush. Not to mention those 3 were only $13.50 which is nice as well. Squid pink being my only other Vallejo paint, I had tacked on to an order from Maelstrom ages ago before the embargo in order to push it up to free shipping.

The third I'm planning on using a brush on with these new paints, then hopefully after that I'll move onto doing the blue with an airbrush.
