Kinda disapointed that the Killzone game wasn't released for PS3 on the 26th like they said though :( or at least it's not on there PSN store for me...
I forgot to check last night... So, still no Kill-Team for the PS3?

They might add a horde/firefight mode but I sincerely doubt you'll get to play as an orc. Multiplayer is supposed to have a balance between the two sides which is why they're generally just skin swaps or very similar shape/size model swaps. If they started to add in orcs with their completely different weapons, they'd theoretically have to balance them. Chaos and regular marines both visually and thematically have easy equivalents. Also, animations for most enemies are not as detailed as those for a player's character model and they'd have to significantly increase them to give ork players the same variety as marines.
As far as balance goes, they could just give orcs orcy equivalents of the same weapons and armor marines get. So in game terms, they would do the same amount of damage, just having a different model and skin.
Guess we'll just have to keep checking for killteam to pop up on the store and hope for the best.
@Necros: Orks did get power armor in 2nd ed, IIRC...

Sorry if it's been covered, but I see on Amazon, if I preorder the PC version I receive the "golden relic chainsword". Does anyone know if you get the same for preordering on Steam? Or is it something different?
And I'm a little tiffed that there's no Kill Team for PC... played the demo on my friends 360 and it was fun. I would of totally bought it for PC.

I know this was covered in the specific Kill Team thread but not sure if mentioned here. The developers who made Kill Team were almost entirely laid off the SAME DAY as the xbox release with only a skeleton staff left for a short while in anticipation of the PC/PS3 releases. If they had a problem with one or the other, it may take them a while to work it out.
edit: new trailer is out for the game... not really multiplayer but this is kind of the current defacto SM game thread and I don't feel its appropriate to start a separate single player one..

I don't think so. It's a two-handed weapon in most Relic games.

Wow that was a pretty great trailer. It looked lie it was mostly if not all in game footage. I think I'll be preordering this game most likely for steam. If anyone wants to do multi-player PM me and I'll give you my info.
If they want multi-player to stay true to the fluff, they'll make it so Chaos space marines inevitably lose every single fight.

While there are no special model skins yet for the BA, you can make them with the shoulder pad icons and colors they provide. They've also stated that all the alternate stuff they're offering will only be for multiplayer. Story mode will be 100% smurf.

Ah well, thats too bad I was hoping not to have to look at blue armor all day. Either way my computer kills my ps3 or xbox in terms of power so I was still planning on buying it for that system

I am happy that you can customize your armor. I will use the crovus pattern armor, my favorite!
I'm quite impressed with the customizer also. Its also amusing to me that the colors you can choose from for your armor are called by their GW paint names (I've heard that this is also true in DOW but haven't played that myself). The inclusion of only 2 multiplayer gametypes has me worried a bit... I don't think that it'll stop me personally from playing but it may negatively affect the player base after a month or two when other games come out (Gears of War, COD, BF3, etc). The multiplayer videos remind me of Star Wars Battlefront meets Section 8 Prejudice (with their armor perks).

As I am playing the hell out of Section 8: Prejudice, I can see the connection. I hope the guns are more balanced (The machine gun is OP and the shotgun is underpowered. The EMP thing is annoying as hell.) I dont see the battlefront connection though.
I got more of a CoD vibe from the perks then Section 8's armor perks.

Adding more gameplay types should be easy. I'm more concerned with the 8v8 system. That is an awfully small game by today's standards. Most of us, at least on the PC, haven't seen such small scale games since our days of quake 1 15years or more ago.

The Star Wars Battlefront connection is more from the game type (capture command posts as primary goal.. that was the main gametype in the old game) and the general feel overall including the speed characters move, the speed and visual effects of bullets, and the ability to run and roll from the videos. The assault marine jump pack speed/use reminds me of the dark trooper from there too. I played the hell out of that game so its a compliment when I say it about Space Marine.
