You are the Frostgrave man Wert! They should be sending you a small but appropriate paycheck for this sort of work.

@Wehrkind - I hope they never will. I've got a job which I like and doing fan materials for fan base for free is how HOBBY should looks like (And it does in 80's and 90's). In fact Joe and Osprey give people a tons more opportunity to create such things without acting like "well known game industry in UK". I've got few ideas what I will be doing next (sheets / more cards), have almost ready scenario based on "Element of Risk" by Ken Rolstone from 1987 (https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4vx6oFCfDjmQ1h6N0R3VGNUbTQ/view?usp=sharing). And playing more and more Frostgrave ofc

@adamsouza - thanks again man!

There are a lot of people that are still very far into the hobby aspect but you're so right. It seems we're so inundated with ready made kits that people fret at the notion of making their own sheets, terrain, or really even painting their own figures. It's what I fell in love with about the hobby in the first place and I think it might be the root of why I've been so disenchanted with wargaming of late.

Incidentally, the sheet looks rather nice. Job well done

I'm surprised this hasn't been posted yet. The "Gnickstarter" pre-order for Into the Breeding Pits has started!

Here at Northstar Military Figuresin the UK:

and at Brigade Games in the US:

I'm looking at the Level 4 myself, perhaps with a few add-ons I've decided I need for the game since the Thaw of the Lich Lord last year. Maybe another box of cultists, too...

I had a good look at the Gnickstarter and have decided to wait till retail. Haven't played all the scenarios from Lich Lord yet, and I don't need any of the stretch goals.

Same here. I'll just buy the book discounted at Amazon and use Bones minis. Worked well for me so far

So far I am a sucker for all things Frostgrave, and even love their aesthetic, so i'll probably grab a Level 2, and maybe my third box of the FG Soldiers (love that kit for Mordheim, etc...)

Any link to the list of stretch-goals, etc?

Edit: Nevermind... ninja posted. :-p

Hardly a surprise, but I really like those metal Gnolls. I totally don't need more figures, but I'm very tempted to go for the level 3, Pit Warrior level.

I've gone for Level 2 myself. Won't want the entire set of extras and so will gradually add them if I want them later.

I hear ya, I just mean that were I to run my own wargame company and a devoted fan were to make really great supplemental things like character sheets and cards then give them away to the players, I would feel compelled to send them a nice thank you note and a box of models or cash or something. Love of the game and high fives from us forum grognards is one thing, but the guys who make Frostgrave owe you a debt for making Frostgrave better. Maybe not in the form of a W-2 form and a pay stub, but something nice

Man, I remember using Word Perfect to make army lists with stats for Battlesystem back in the day, to be printed out on my dot matrix printer. That was time better spent doing just about anything else hobby related!

Just went in on a Level 4. I've been all-in since on Frostgrave ever since I first picked up the main rulebook. It has been a great casual game to play with my kids.

Anyone have a clue what size of board will be needed for a Into the Breeding Pits board?

I'm thinking 1 by 1 or 2 by 2? Looking at my own work in progress dungeon, 1 by 1, with all its winding tunnels, already looks big.

yeah,
I must have missed it; But what info do we have that into the breeding pits is played in dungeons?

Amazon description, which I believe is the standard blurb anyone else will use for it:

With this new supplement for Frostgrave, players lead their warbands into the vast network of catacombs, sewers, and dungeons that run beneath the Frozen City. It was in these dark confines that ancient wizards experimented on living creatures, creating strange hybrids and deadly monsters, many of which still roam the forgotten passageways. Along with a host of new scenarios, treasures, spells, and creatures, the book also contains rules for running games of Frostgrave set in dungeons, including traps and secret passages. With the wonderful and rare magical treasures to be discovered, will players risk taking their warbands down into the Breeding Pits?

yeah,
Cool thanks. Very interesting.

this might be the final push needed to finish off my 3d Dungeon bowl pitch, now it could have dual purpose.

Nowadays there's quite a few Dungeon based games. Problem is, they mostly use proprietary tables.

Personally though, I'd rather build myself a 3D one like [url=http://www.lead-adventure.de/index.php?topic=30403.0]this/url]. Though I'm mental.

Construction wise my own plan's to make a 1 by 1 generic cave system, and add less generic tiles to expand it to 2 by 2, then another style for to fit 3 by 3. Ideally that'd be a covering a Kwama egg mine from Morrowind and then Dwemer style ruins from Skyrim.

That's if the ruleset copes. As I don't have the rules to hand I don't know how large the boards can be, corridor size, trap/ treasure/ boss placement etc. Rather its making a best guess, but there's probably a lot of leeway.

IIRC is there not already a scenario involving a dungeon in Thaw of the Lich Lord?

Hey guys, as many have already discovered, Frostgrave doesn't need too many rules changes to play underground or in a dungeon set-up. There are a few things small things that needed to be modified, but nothing major. For the most part, the underground rules are about adding new options for things like traps and secret passages. You can still play on any type or size of board you want.

Really looking forward to breaking out my Itar's Workshop tunnels and dungeon rooms again for the new book... when I eventually pick it up.

Will that include being able to piece together corridor-and-rooms dungeons from dungeon tiles from the various dungeon crawler boardgames that use them?

I am using the Frostgrave rules with a desert table...

Similarly I think I've seen a Star Wars Frostgrave thread somewhere.

Free Fungus! The Frostgrave 'Gnickstarter' for Into the Breeding Pits has just hit its 3rd Spend Goal, which means most orders will receive a free 'Violent Fungus' Model.

Yes, I think 'Violent Fungus' is funny, even if no one else does.
