Wraithseer arrived today.
Looking at it, it will be fun with pins.

Nice. I really like the Wraithseer model.

What's it like rules wise? Is it just a psychic wraithlord or does it do funky stuff?

It got an update in the FW apoc book, they're nice enough to actually show its rules as (so we can openly talk about them I believe) one of the pics for the book while bluring out the point cost cough1cough8cough5basecough.

It's a psyker wraithlord. However it's only level 1, instead of generating powers as normal it has 3 set powers as part of its rules to use, all obviously warp charge 1.
Forboding, Enliven and Deliverance.

Forboding is an 18" witchfire with s- and ap-. It does "enhanced pinning" (pinning test on -2 LD). It feels meh to me, but I can see it working with the hemlok
Enliven is a blessing which targets a friendly unit of wraithguard, wraithblades or a wraithlord. It just gives them fleet.
Deliverance is blessing which is rather nice, now it can only target wraithguard, wraithblades or a wraithlord (and this makes more sense balance wise instead of including the wraithknight too) but it grants them feel no pain 5+. Very nice and likely the power I'll be using the most with it. Also I've looked it up before with people asking FW and the consistant answer was for these two blessings, that they don't show the range because they are unlimited range.

The D-cannon is an upgrade for 40 points (typoed as a Wraithcannon of course ). It has a 5+ invul of course and a ghost spear (master crafted, sunder, s user, ap 2). It also has spiritmark.
Basically its mostly like a normal wraithlord, but it has some slight support to it and is probably a bit better in melee as well (WS 5, A 3). Still a HQ choice and while it no longer requires a seer as the other HQ it still states it does not count as the minimum required for it.

Of course I did a small conversion to this model, which I had been planning on for a while.
To start everything resin except the back fins, shield and feet are pinned. The Dcannon I'm thinking of leaving unglued for transport at the moment. May end up gluing it in the end.

The small conversion being that I sliced the hand in half and also one of the jazz hands to make a casually pointing hand.

Was taking a bit of a break and starting to get back into it slowly again.
Fixed up the wraithlord's little problems and some more GF9 snow arrived so just waiting to get these wraithguard up to basing to finish it off now.

The wraithseer is primed and ready to paint as well, but has no place in the list yet so not as high priority at the moment.

I have thought about the new harlequins and even howling banshees yet I'm not really sold too much on including them. I feel like they wouldn't perform so well being squishy and with the rest of the list having to go on foot at the moment. An interesting idea I had for when they eventually do get a spot in a list some time is perhaps giving them kabuki masks like I had for malifaux ages ago.

However as for now I'm thinking a third wraithlord with twin scatters would be a nice solid addition to the list to bring it up to:
spiritseer
spiritseer

5 Wraithguard
5 Wraithguard
5 Wraithguard
5 Wraithguard

Wraithknight
Wraithlord
2 scatterlaser
Wraithlord
2 scatterlaser
Wraithlord
2 scatterlaser

1500

Third wraithlord pretty much built.
Just need to wait for the scatterlaser to arrive in the mail and I have everything for the 1500 list built.

And a group shot with the other big things.

I saw your signature in another thread, oh my gosh I love your Eldar, mine are pink too but a little crazier on the color wheel, but I really love the pink and white, and the Cherry Blossoms on the Heads and plates are super nice, awesome stuff!

Thanks everyone.

Continuing along with the wraithguard at the moment.

My only regret with them is I haven't magnetised a single wraithguard. But adds more longevity into the project. Plus more fun apocalypse games with it eventually too.

Thanks

Did a bit of the white as I continue with them.

Always the most tedious part. Have to fight the temptation to rush the white with thicker coats, but I actually end up thinning it a bit more as I go along with more layers.

Finished adding the ink, didn't go over the gems because I have an idea for trying out something new this time.

I decided instead of doing the gems the usual way from black and building up, I might try doing them from a white base like they have with blue ink.

Looking forward to that. You have some interesting ideas, if I was a better painter I might try to nab some from you.

Sort of some mixed results for the gems, but I'll keep working on it cause I think it's just my technique at the moment.

Some showed some nice potential, so not stopping it just yet.

Got the last of the Wraithlords done, just need to put the snow on the bases of them and the last five wraithguard and the first 1500 is completed.

But, the Dscythes don't fit in so the next project can be a replacement squad for them. I've been working slowly on collecting a squad of metal wraithguard for that recently, so far I have one. But I have plans for them, as well as using their base to offset the slight size difference to the current wraithguard. Other than that the other direction I can go is with another squad of dscythes and a second wave serpent to have some variety with the list. I also like the look and sound of the wraithknight with suncannon and scatter laser so will be considering getting one of those worked on eventually. Another thing I'd like to look at too is setting up a squad for apocalypse games to acompany the titan, just a small group of wraithknights nothing much.

Looking good.

Glad to hear you went through with that idea, I think it'll be a nice tourney

Oh it's 1850 and I wasn't sure I'd actually do it yet. Though I did get this stuff early enough that I'd have plenty of time to get the last 350 together so I guess I can think about it now.

Bunch of pictures for this update.

Starting with a group picture of the current list (counting those scythes as cannons of course. )

Wraithguards 16-20 completed.

Wraithlords 1-3 completed.

Colour co-ordinated like the squads are. Figured if I want to use the Iyanden formation some time, it'd be useful to have them all separated like this so it keeps track of what is and isn't part of the formation, since it gives out a bonus of course. Stops any issues with opponents.

Finally the size comparison between the old and current wraithguard, putting them on the 25mm slot bases then putting that on top of the 40mm the current use. Should work out and seems to make up the size difference a bit, I'll smooth out the ledge it creates during basing.
