Well after a little over a month I finally got my coworker over to work on the warhounds. We finished up our guns while my father surprised us with a new special gun.

OOH it can bend:

All the way down:

And it expands:

Now I'm sure some of you figured out that it was a camera flash. We had a camera flash in the volcano cannon on the warlord but this one functions differently.
If you happen to be shot by this particular gun you'll see the for the next 20 minutes as its burned into your eyes.
It's cool to think about the warhound coming up and destroying a huge chaos installation and replacing it with the "holy stamp" of terra.

Boogs - The sound that the bolter makes right now is perfect IMHO. I think the the a little piece of plasticard would take away from the originality of the sound, and make it sound more like a kid's bicycle.

Brother Bartius - Thanks for the kind words. There will definitely be a nice collection of family photos as well as some pictures of them tearing up some heretics.

Wow, the sound on the extension / retraction is perfect. Couldn't ask for anything more.

I called the camara flash on that new gun about 10 sec before I read it. I love the idea. Now lets just see how your opponents react

Well its funny you ask, last night we were finally able to put some more work into the titan.
After looking at the plans we determined that the 3 leg sections are alsmot the same size
So we came up with the following

Hopefully when this is resined they will fit together and allow the legs to be pose able. That is the hope anyway.
After we confirm the parts fit together as planned, we'll make 3 different molds of this part, 1 for the upper leg, 1 for the middle leg, and finally 1 for the lower leg.
Each mold will have different mounting parts and details on it so all 4 titans will have the same basic shape and armor for their legs.

Thanks Azmodai! You'd be surprised if you just take your time, and plan things out you'll wind up doing alot better than you originally thought you did.

The leg piece didn't work quite as planned so there was much nashing of teeth and cutting the channels so it could become more posable. I'm making another mold right now of some of the accessories to put on the leg, including a ring with rivits that will go around the bolt holes.

I'll have some more pics tomorrow night.

Really I'm gonna build it, but currently I'm waiting for some plasticard me and Red Skullz ordrered.
I'm gonna build a Warhound, and Red Skullz will make a Stompa, for som serious Apocalypse action...

Tested the template I've got with some paper card:

Looking good so far azmodai!
I've never started with the feet of a titan, it just seems that as you build your titan its going to get heavier, and the best way to cope with that is to weigh the feet down (or widen them) so I always build the feet close to the end.

I love the flash idea.

You can tell your opponent to call your army "cheese", and when he does, tell him "Those are the magic words! You asked for it!" and then blind the poor fool with the Aquila of the golden throne.

That thing is seriously hilarious.

Well this week has been a flurry of building!

First the mold for the leg segment:

Then we get resin leg segments!

After some slight cutting the segments fit together rather well!

Finally after adding some detail we glued the segments into boxes:

Mixed up some mold material

Put a lip around the boxes (to prevent any over flow):

Then we poured the mold material into the boxes and turned the pump on (the bubbles you see is the air escaping from the mold)!

After about 30 minutes of vacuuming the molds are set aside for 24 hours:

And you then get this:

The now pose able leg segments!!

We'll be starting the feet with pose able toes tomorrow! Hopefully I'll be able to get some more pictures up before I go to bed.

Thanks for the process pics Foda, very very cool to see how the whole deal works. Leg segments look good, though a little unsure how those 4 parts make for a leg all together. May have to check the FW warhound to get a feel for what it's going to look like with body / feet on the ends.

asmodai650 - isn't it amazing how much mess resin makes on a lathe? Metal you get all those neat spiraly bits you can use on bases but resin just makes a huge mess!

Symbio Joe - Thanks, I couldn't just leave these titans to rust. I took a break and painted some warmachine models, so now its time to get back into the swing of things.

And with that... we have a waist!

Back, with hinge. This allows access to the bolts.

Well 2 legs, plus 2 hips.... well you know what that means
IT WALKS!

This is a bit strange on the close ups the legs look quite okay but from far away they look too thin.

PRoeske - Patience young grasshopper we have a way to go.

Symbio Joe - I think its due to the fact that the legs are abit over extended to balance the body (which is just placed on top).
When the body is attached to the waist (which will be after the feet and head are done as we need to figure out the center of gravity) we'll be able to lower and pose the legs. The legs are also missing their shin armor which adds ALOT of bulk to them.
