Shhhh HBMC.
You're going to start a board game carrying case revolution!
The box is 14"x14", how high do you think it has to be to transport the 97 minis that come at Biohazard pledge level?
Or, perhaps, you are of the impression the box is manufactured on Gallifrey.
All kidding aside, you do realize it's a non-sequiter to suggest piling the minis in their box when the express problem is the bag sold to carry the game cannot carry the game, right?
I'd happily pay for a bag to carry the game. It just.. you know, needs to be able to carry the game.

Again, the bag sold to transport the game cannot transport the game. How is what you are saying relevant to the unsuitability of the bag?
No one is arguing transporting the minis will be difficult if we use some means other then the bag they are selling.
My back-up plan is, of course, a claw-footed bathtub full of yogurt, but I'm not putting that on my Kickstarter.

I imagine that the box will be big enough to fit the actual game + contents, since it's a retail product. The biohazard, etc, extras would come in their own little packaging separately.
I'm personally indifferent to the bag and battlefoam and all of that, but bitching that it won't fit in all the 1-off biohazard freebies and extras outside of the actual core boxed product just seems a little silly and OTT..

RiTides wrote:But it's just the boards that don't fit, right? All the minis do?
Yup. Well, sorta, I mean, when you say "all the minis", what do you mean? A Biohazard level pledge gets you 97 minis. That should easily fit (presuming it's cut to accommodate the big guys). The terrain is another 70 pieces, will they fit? I dunno. I was totaling it up, and I'm looking at just under 200 minis/pieces.
So, the game itself (not Biohazard level) will fit in the $35 piece of foam. Anything more then that will need something separate.
Honestly, if there were a bit more bargain to the bag I probably would just choke down the irritation, but it's basically full price (only reduced by the shipping costs). Cutting insight... the problem isn't it won't fit the "1-off biohazard freebies and extras outside of the actual core boxed product", but that it won't fit a single copy of the retail base game (because of the tiles).
Thanks for playing though.

It seems the bag is big enough to carry the models one would get to expect when purchasing the game. That doesn't seem unreasonable to me. The fact that it doesn't transport extras from a 1-time-only Kickstarter campaign seems less important. And why should or would it? Isn't it a bag to protect the minis, and not to carry the game? That's the way I see it. If the bag's stated purpose is to carry/protect the miniatures from the standard retail game, then it suceeds in doing exactly that. You cannot criticise an orange for not being an apple, and if the bag was never intended to carry everything, and was only intended to carry the miniatures, then I can't see what you're getting worked up about.

....?
Seriously guys, the problem isn't the minis, it's the trays don't fit.
I know you know this, since you already made a remark about "14" square? You say that like it's a bad thing."
If you only want to transport the base game, the $35 foam tray is perfectly adequate.
Again, bringing into question the point of the bag... which was the discussion.

Sorry, just to be clear, you don't see why the "Sedition Wars BattleFoam Bag" being unable to carry the Sedition Wars game is a problem? Just to check.
Also, since it seems you'd like to use a technical argument, let's see what the official purpose of the bag is...
The fiendish protective geniuses at Battlefoam have put together a nice little kit to carry around all your Biohazard contents and then some. Great if you intend to paint the game! This bag will be available for sale later, but ships free in the USA if you get it from us now. International shipping please add $25. All Not a Natural Color and other painted sets will include one of these bags to protect your babies already for free.
So, what do you think, is it a Granny Smith, or a Mandarin?

Edit: let me rephrase; the bag is sold as a way to transport everything at the Biohazard level. It can't transport even the base game (for which there is a stopgap of the stand alone tray).
I'm talking to C'mon about it, and they have confessed the issue is "a head scratcher", and they are looking into a different bag solution later.
Honestly, it's seems simply a better bet to wait on the bags.

I'm just going to lay a magnetic sheet inside the box and have all the miniatures' undersides metal. That way, I'll be able to transport everything in the box. Better than buying generic foam trays cut into rectangles that won't fit in most normal boxes/bags/containers.
You're not going to need to use all the models that come with the boxed set. We get double EVERYTHING in this Kickstarter, and the missions are meant to played with only the normal quantity of models.

Pfff.. peasant. Bathtub. Yogurt. Minis.
Good times....
Edit: actually Absolutionis, that may not be a good idea (your idea, let's not talk dairy here); it's my impression that the bottom of the figure bases are designed to slot into the plastic infection tokens. I'm not sure how much you would want to fiddly with them...

Correct. I see (or saw) the bag as something to carry the minis from the game, not the whole game (cards, counters, dice, tiles, etc.). Now clearly the bag's aim - as you've just shown - seems to be to carry everything, something it cannot do, therefore it fails at its stated task. That is something you can criticise.
So your annoyance here is justified (if a little overblown - you don't have to buy the bag, afterall, so ultimately you can ignore it and not have it worry you any further).

At the risk of stating out the obvious, the internet isn't the best mode for assessing emotional state (I suspect you are passing familiar with this phenomenon). I'm vexed, but I do want people considering an $80 purchase to be clear on things. It was obvious several people were not clear. Now (hopefully) everyone is up to speed.
As an aside, being accused of over-the-top annoyance by H.B.M.C.? I think today I am a man...
For people looking to buy a bag for Sedition Wars, like I said above, I would wait (unless it's expressly to support the KS); there is a chance a different branded storage product may be forthcoming afterwords that can fit everything. In any case, these bags will remain available afterwords, no exclusivity.

Just wanted to pass along something about the bag situation regarding the terrain pack (last post on the topic!), a message from C'Mon;
The terrain pack hasn't been prototyped yet, so there are some generic parts that might fit them. When the time comes closer we'll probably release a tray to fit the bag with the terrain in it.
Just something to consider.

Well, the battlefoam option is quite clearly a bust for anything other than the foam insert for the box.
...and for $35... I think I will easily pass on that deal.
Storing this game after the fact will be a nightmare.
Just a single biohazard will likely not all fit back into the box with all of the extras without smashing them.
It makes me yearn for the FFG sized coffin boxes, or the old Gamemaster series boxes by Milton Bradley.
Because custom boxes are definitely going to be needed to store just the biohard, not to mention the potential of terrain, or the mess of extra clear and glowy models should you choose that option.
Yeah, I know. First world problems and all that.
People can roll their eyes all that they want about wondering how the hell to store this, but remember every single person who goes biohazard level or above is going to have this very same issue. Mark my words.
You'll be hunting for rubbermaid tubs like Heroscape players do by the end of it.
[edit]
Hmm I wonder if they would consider a new kickstarter goal so that kickstarter purchasers have a way to store all of their stuff in a single enlarged box just for the KS. Wont likely happen but this recent ill planned attempt to include BF in the advetising deal kinda reveals a need here.

In some brighter (and less contentious) news - we are less than $2.5k from hitting the next Stretch Goal! Automatically Appended Next Post: And the last one:
Update #54: This is getting crazy....
Wow! This is really incredible, thank you everyone!
Every Biohazard set gets the battle damaged version of this deadly cyborg! Ships March 2013, unpainted and unassembled.
So.. if Akosha is getting all amped up (like we are), what about...
Morgan has decided to one up Akosha, and suit up in full Wildfire bio-hazard gear. Environmentally self contained for the most destructive of outbreaks, the suit provides enhanced protection from the strain infection. Armed with an incinerator, scanner, and advanced medpack, Morgan is ready to hunt the strain down and burn them out of Alabaster station.
If we hit this stretch, every Biohazard set gets Morgan all suited up! Ships March 2013, unpainted and unassembled!
