Agreed... I bought some this year, and it is good quality stuff. Unless you just don't like Romeo or something? No insult there, some don't. After having met him though I can also say he is a nice guy and very determined to deliver quality product!

Romeo's a good guy, despite occasionally coming across as abrasive or crass on the internet. I'd be pretty crass, too, if I got that much hate on the internet, deigned to respond to it, and was as passionate a person as Romeo appears to be(someone passionate about the product they make?! Say it ain't so!). Responding to posts on places like Dakka is a two-edged sword: you appear to be slumming it with your customers, but you're always a representative of your company, so the occasional unprofessional post when you're in a bad mood can reflect ill on the company. That said, while I disagreed with the way he first showed up at Dakka, I've been able to separate Romeo and his company as separate entities. Battle Foam's products are amazing and I can't go back to buying anyone else's because they really are the best out there in my opinion(and I've tried and owned pretty much every one out there currently). They're pricy, but the quality is more than worth it. I'm excited, because I've heard that they now make actual gun cases(and Airsoft marker cases, too) and I want to try them.

Indeed - what I've observed of Romeo rubs me up the wrong way.
Also, as a Brit, I'd prefer to support a British company, such as KR.

I had a very strong dislike for Romeo when Battlefoam first hit the gaming scene, he was everywhere pushing Battlefoam as this amazing and different thing that was totally better than everything else out there, and oh hey did he mention Battlefoam was out and they had this new tray and it's from Battlefoam and it's awesome because it's Battlefoam and Battlefoam rocks? Okay he did? Yeah.
It just gave me that terrible used-car salesman vibe that really bothers me. However, mostly due to his appearances on gaming podcasts where he's been talking about gaming and not his products, I've come to get behind him quite a bit. It was really nice to hear him on D6 Generation a few episodes ago just talking about his experiences in the hobby and talking about what he was into and why he wasn't into other systems. He wasn't pushing his crap, just talking about gaming so he finally sounded like an avid gamer and not a slimy salesman. I think it was the last Guts & Gears he was on where he was promoting a mostly warmachine gaming convention he's helping set up in Arizona. He was pushing that one pretty hard, but I can forgive that a lot more for a convention than a product and he really came off as wanting to make something the local gaming community could really enjoy since there's not a whole lot out there.
Anyways, so much for all the naysayers saying SW would be lucky to hit 500k. Looks like it's gonna beat out Zombiecide at this point, less than 150k in 2 days should be totally doable. Good, space stations and assault rifles and high tech armor are WAY cooler than zombie apocalypse! It still could use some aliens though, aliens make everything better.

So, it's confirmed that the boards are way too big to fit in the bag (they are reportedly 14" square).
That's really quite unfortunate. I'm honestly not sure I can justify dropping $80 for a bag that won't actually be adequate to storing what it's intended to store. Also, since appearently this won't be in any way exclusive to the KS, there doesn't really seem to be a reason to drop the money right now.
The stopgap has been noted before, a single foam tray that will hold the contents of the base box... which is, unfortunatly, nowhere near adequate for most backers (who are at Biohazard level).
$35 plus $15 international shipping. Again these will be available after the Kickstarter. So take your time painting, once you need them they'll still be around.
Automatically Appended Next Post: By the way, in case it hadn't been noted before, just going for Biohazard, you're talking about 97 models as I count them. So $1.03 or so a model, heh!

I'll join in with the Battlefoam dissenters. It seems questionable for a great company/group like Studio McVey to join in with the polarizing Battlefoam.
On the bright side, the offering of some random foam for $35 will only make this Kickstarter total go even higher. To each, their own.

Why is it questionable? CMON already seems to have a license with them, and Battle Foam tends to be the only one that actually licenses with companies.

Oh, I don't think it's bad... I'm not sure it's good. I honestly have no opinion on maximal tile size, but it does mean that they are going to be nearly impossible to fit into a any of the BF bags.
I don't harbor any ill will towards BF (or Romeo), I'm just a bit unenthusiastic about the official (branded and everything!) bag not being able to transport the game! That is, it's fundamentally unsuited for it's intended purpose.
Irritating. On the plus side, it let's me drop my pledge by quite a bit.

Admittedly sculpting Kaylee's face to capture her character is not easy, but the cheekbones, jaw, mouth and eyebrows are all asymmetrical which really messes up her face. A bit heavy on the eye makeup as well...

Now hopefully my friends will be willing to play it
*edit* Will just add, don't have any ill will towards Battlefoam. Yes Romeo is a tool, but he puts out a great product and all my friends who bought stuff from him have no complaints. Their bags held up far better than my Army Transport bag. I don't hold it against Studio McVey for getting an "official" Battlefoam bag. Romeo approaches every miniature company about getting a special battlefoam bag or tray.
