@Selvaggio: 9 you say? Thanks man!
@Vyler: Thanky, welcome to the blog, nice to have you around. I really like your angry marines!
@TaWaaagh: You're right, I'll leave it alone.
Generally, I consider the model done, unless some knows something I should add?

I have been busy so some of your updates got away from me. I love your mechanic work; The killa kan is Brillow!
I voted for your entry but I will admit that I recognized it as yours. It was involved and imaginative(and fluffy) rather than your common "Space marine about to kill something!"

UPDATE TIME!
I've been busy building additional bitz onto my trukk and deff dred, and I started painting the trukk.
The inspiration for the Dred changes comes from my dad.... I showed my finished Killa Kan to him and got a "Wheres that things head?" for a reply. Later i thought hey, where is that things head actually? *looks at Dred* I could build a head for that!
Took me and hour to come up with and complete, I hope you like it!
Oh and that Turbo Cigarette paper thingy in the back..... I don't smoke, I use the paper to clean my saxophone......
and primed:
Then, the trukk. A few weeks ago, someone pointed out that the boyz riding it would just fall off. Right, lets build something to keep them in! Just some simple plasticard work, the rivets were a lot of fun to make!
I painted it yellow and rusted, just like that old and rotten Caterpillar I posted on page six:
WIP:
And I have a question: How should I paint the tires?
Like this:
or this

Looking really good merlin! The no head comment made me laugh, i got a similar response when i showed someone a dreadnought for the first time.
The head itself is fantastic pasticard work, I am very jealous!
As for the tyre painting i think the second one looks nice, although would take a bit more time to make it look right.
The truck sides are also really good, give those orks something to cling on to as they fly along.

Deff Dread 'ead looks good! I have a long standing idea/plan to make A Deff Dread wiv a 'ead - but it isn't a Dark Angelz one, so, unless a suitable painting comp comes along... (still suitably different from your excellent incarnation )
Trukk is also looking awesome - I think you need to share your technique
As for wheelz - I'd go the first over the second, but may I offer an alternative?

ooh! i would second Arakasi's wheels, they are really nice, nice compromise between random plating without totally disguising the fact that the tyres are rubber.

@J -paint: Thanks mate, glad you like it. It was my first time using plasticard.....
@Arakasi: Yeah, painted wheelz! Thanks, man! I'll do mine in yellow though.....
You wanted to know how I painted it up to now:
1) Spend three days building up layers of yellow (I mixed golden yellow and lyanden darksun)
2) Wash it with devlan mud. Do vertical lines, so it looks like dirt flowing down the sides
3) Rip apart a sponge (try to get a really random and rough edge) and use it to subtly paint a 3-1 mix of scorched brown and boltgun metal. But dont stir the colors too well, cause its nice to have a little more brown here and a little more metal there
4) Do the same with a metal/black mix, but use it les and only on the edges.
I'll work on it some more though, its far from done!

After finally finding your blog. I think its safe to say, I am ashamed at what i have posted. YOUR MODELS ARE FREAKING AWESOME!!! With at least three capital A's. I love seeing good ork conversions with out them looking like a mess thrown together. Can't wait to see what you have planned for a looted wagon. Can any one say looted keeper of secrets? That would be a sexy model. Great job you have here man. Thanks for the mini tut. On the weathering you do. I'll Have to remember it for my rhinos. Great Job. Can't wait to see more from you.

Thanks mate! I have painted one wheel Arakasis way, but I'm not too fond of how it turned out..... it has a touch of bee with those black and yellow stripes
I guess I'll paint one tire this way and one the other and compare the results......

So, while I was waiting for inspiration on how to finish my trukk, I decided to make a tutorial.
Need feedback! How can I improve it? Or is it OK like this?
I made this tut cause the only tutorials on metal I found told you to drybrush your models. That looks well and fine, but I do it differently soI thought I'd share my way of painting the metal bitz on my orks....
First, the rusty look. I used it on these two for example:
First stage for that'd be a solid layer of a dark metal (I used GWs boltgun metal)
Then apply a black wash, badab black in my case:
Now you apply a homebrew "rust" wash. I mixed vermin brown with little bit of scorched brown (4-1) and thinned it down to a wash. If you dont have vomit brown, a 5-1 mix of bestial brown and blood red also works (wich you then mix with scorched brown)
After that you use a sponge (or in my case a piece of foam) and rip a chunk of it off. You need a rough edge. Use that to apply some vermin brown, with some scorched brown mixed into it.
Followed by a wash of vermin brown:
Then, sponge on some more vermin brown, this time without any other colors mixed into it.
Here you go, sadly the cameras batteries died before I could take photos of the highlights I had done, but it looked like the tankbusta nob above.....
And here is the other method. It looks like old, worn metal.
Start with a solid layer of a bright metal (yes, bright. The idea is to make it darker and darker using washes, and you stop when you have what you want)
I used mithril silver:
Then, apply some thinned down badab black:
and some devlan mud:
and some sepia:
more devlan (yeah, I moved the lamp coloser o it actually looks brighter.....):
Then, I highlighted it with a mix of boltgun and mithril (wich should look look the chainmail I dont own )
the finished result:
If you're wondering why the paint on the mithril basecoat pic looks a little thick; its because I had already done all of that once, but forgot to put a SD card into the camera I had to repaint both arms -_-
I hope this helps someone

The tutorial looks nice, perhaps a bit larger pics would help. The first tutorials last couple of pics are so dark that it is hard to make out the difference.
The first effect or tuturial could perhaps have more impact with additional step of adding a bit of clean metal to the edges. That would improve the contrast and make it more appealing to the eye.

Thanks for the advice! I'll try to take lighter pic next time.
I did actually highlight the metal, but a I said, the camera died before I could take a photo..... have a look at the first model on my blog to see how it looks with highlights......

That is going to be one funky looking ork. One arm all darker than the other. Good old silver arms. The tut was great. Nice and quick to the point. The only problem i had was, with the light shinning yellowish. Its hard to pick out the detail. It could be that the washes where really light and i couldn't tell. Try making everything darker than you normally would. That way when you take the picture of them. It shows up better. But other than that. And sparkle arms, Great job man.

Thanks for the comment! What do you mean with yellowish light?

The pirate heads are from maxmini, I love them!
I'll be using the one smoking a pipe for my scratchbuilt biker warboss
@all:
I'm sorry for not posting any pics again But I will tomorrow. I've decided to paint the wheelz brown after painting one yellow, cause, as I mentioned before, it looked like rear end of a bee with all those black and yellow stripes......
Don't yet know what to do after the trukk, either the deff dred or I'll start building the biker boss......
