I'd redoing my Emperor vs Horus set and want opinions, what weapons should Mr. H have?

In early pics he had 2 claws with build in bolters.

But recently he's been shown with 1 claw, one wacking stick.

Which do people prefer?

Does the wacking stick have a name? Does it do anything cool?

Being old school, I prefer the 'original' version/vision: the dual lightning claws.

As far as I know, the power mace doesn't do anything special, but then I'm only about 3/4 of the way through the Horus Heresy "Collected" volume, so, who knows?

Its a mace, I think. I prefer the second one.

The dual claws make more sense, I think...you have the classical feel and claws fits the chaos image pretty well.

For a more avant garde approach, though, you could go from "walking stick" to "pimp stick", give him a wide-brimmed purple hat. The claw would make for the ultimate pimp-slap.

Double Lightning Claws. Hands down.

A super old-skool version from the B&W illustration would be cool. I would also try to emphasize the other differences between the two pictures - no furs on him, spikes over his head, ribbed area on his crux terminatus, etc.

Nobody noticed the more obvious change - the Emperor's in Power Armour in that second pic. Either that or he's a size 6 Terminator.

I actually prefer the newer visual as in the first Horus looks bloated and besides he is a Primarch and probably is so superhuman he doesn't need 2 lightning claws.

He's pretty old, so I'll go with the walking stick.

The emperor has a sword, Horus has the whacking stick. Makes for a proppa' duel.

Lightning Claws if you want to go evil.

You could put the mace beside a throne.

Whacking stick... IDC that they're iconic, mace vs sword is a classic... AND there's the clashing weapons element.

I have always preferred the two claws, if only because I remember reading somewhere that Horus was the only person in the Imperium with two of them, what with them being all rare and stuff.

I really like the art work for that second pic. I would've loved to see Horus with dual claws in an updated photo... But what I find interesting is that the Emperor's clawed hand in the second picture looks like eagle talons. The Emperor looks bad ass in this pic. So I guess I like the second one more. But in game terms and modeling wise I'd pick dual lightning claws ftw!!!

Second pic is better, but Horus isn't Abbadon. I really hate the perspective though.

He just isn't. Don't pretend he is. They hate one another. And Horus had lightning claws. Meh?

EDIT: OKay, okay... Mike McVey did a great diorama many years ago... I have it in a White Dwarf somewhere. Been trying to find it online... but Horus has two claws.

Neither picture does either character justice. They're both very sterile.

I prefer picture 1, simply because it looks less clean than number two. There's more madness to it.

I prefer the first pic myself.
I guess the hordes of marines in the room when they are not meant to be there i sthe main problem in the second pic.

I go for the more recent one, it is epic and beautiful, don't kill me, but what the hell, I had a very hard time finding the second lightning claw on the first pic. Go wif da wacka stick!

i thought the primarchs just wore their 'armour'. They're to big for a specific 'model' of armour, like Power Armour, Terminator Armour, or Artificier Armour. They just wear their own, incredibly well-crafted and detailed, armour. Like Angron's gladiator outfit, or Mortarion's banded armour...

I like the wacking stick. The old picture looks silly.

I would go for lightning claws, they just seem so much more iconic to me.

That said, there are a lot of things I like better about the second picture, but the first one has a feel of desperation that I don't really think is present as much in the newer version, which is a shame.
