depends on what your army needs.
Need anti-tank - run 5 meltas
Need anti-hord - run flamers and a power wep.
Need anti-meq - plasma, and PK
list goes on..., I will be running a squad of 10 if i ever get my chaos army off paper and actually on a table. The extra 5 guys are there to soak up a few wounds hopefully before i start having to pull metlas. I prefer to infitrate them into cover, or near an objective to contest it.
Just remember if you exchange their CCwep+pistol you still have your bolter, if you exchange your bolter they still have a ccwep+pistol.

Powerfist Champ and 2-4 Meltaguns. Infiltrate. Either that or 5x Plasma.
Dude. FIVE PLASMAS. That infiltrate. Do it.
TL Bolters are good, too.
Rhino for the Plasma could work or you could start them on the table.

Icons have really interesting, although expected, effects on Chosen. Glory makes them better at contesting objectives and serves as a forward Champ for a Greater Deamon and general deepstriking.
Khorne makes them deadly in CC, leaves points to fill out the squad and makes them want to take a mix of CC weapons. I find they work well when they have a mix, so they can shoot and CC well.
Slaanesh tends to be over looked by the enemy, and is cheap. Take PWs, a PF or 2, but not so many guns so you can take maximum advantage of your high initiative.
Tzeentch makes them safer out of cover, but doesn't really help for its points. Tzeentch Icons tend not to help regular units. I suppose you could give them armor ignoring stuff and toss them at Terminators or equally heavy units.
Nurgle's Icon is always a massive strain on the rest of the equipment you can give the squad before it just becomes better to take Plague Marines. My favorite use is to give them a Rhino with a Havoc Launcher, a single heavy weapon and outflank them. They stay relatively cheap, pack a punch and can take some damage. If you actually gear them up, you will NEED extra bodies to soak up damage and make the Icon worth it and gear survive. If you take Nurgle, they will be up in the 250s before you can blink.

So the general idea is to run all the same wepons or just one heavy weapon in the squad, this makes sense because of having a heavy weapon and a bunch of assualt weapons in a squad doesn't add up

5 Melta's or 5 flamers and a PF champ, depending on your wishes.
