Okay here goes my first blog. many of you may or may not know that at some point or another i have been slowly creating an idea, then fluff, then finally making the plunge and buying up some guardsmen (not necissarily in that order ) .

Okay brief synopsis, is that the guardmen have no alleigance as their very own planet was destroyed by the imperiums own stupidity.
then, as they escaped their world (which was now swarming with mutants) they were beset upon by the inquisition, who saw them as heretics. they fled from imperial space, and for 3 months evaded the multitude of enemy ships after them (at one point the whole army hides within a space hulk (an excuse to place spacehulk) as the inquisitors own personal battlebarge passes by) until, they find them selves in tau space.

o noes tau!

the tau offer them shelter in return for joining them, which, having no alternative the guard agree too. however, it soon becomes clear to the tau that the guard (who are all mentally traumatized and dead inside after seeing their planets population becoming crazy mutants) are little more than bloodthirsty madmen, and they shun them. the Guard, now hated by all make a ditch escape from the tau space with a band of likewise minded kroot to pave out an existance as a mercenary.

Ok not exactly brief, but what can ya do?

so at the moment i have a small army coming along very slowly. so to make me inspired to continue, each mdel i paint ill right a qwuick bit o' fluff about them. first models will be posted in about 10 -15 mins perhaps

For inspiration you should check out some of the =I=Munda posts, you might also check out Tau 3rd Sphere Expansion Space - or whatever it was called... Im fairly certain that there were human auxilliaries featured.

This guys name is Joker. he was dubbed this by the fact he always carries a smiling masquarade mask on him at all times. he lost his family whilst trying to get them to the last dropship leaving planetside. When he entered the ship alone, he was cradeling the mask and laughing to himself. Most NCOs see him as a liability due to his sudden and uncontrollable bursts of laughter and insanity, but neverthe less he is a crackshot sniper second only to hicks (my actual sniper )

Nice detail work from the mask to the kill marks on the rifle. One strike for every 100 killed I take it?

Okay this guys called Private J. Roberts. he believes he was saved by divine interevention when he was attacked by a mutant on his home planet. it grabbed him from behind by the head and tried to break his neck, but just as he was about to die, a nearby statue of the emporers champion was hit by a veering rocket and its huge fist of stone crushed the mutant, but it missed Roberts by an inch. to commemmerate this moment, Roberts painted a skeletal hand upon his helmet, and stayed faithful when others did not.

themed terrain...hmm not sure tbh. i did have a sudde urge to create a couple of grusome objective markers....

this little bugger i like alot. it was my first sucessful attempt with GS as you cant see where its used. the chainsaw was a bitch though as the handle kept coming off.

this Mans called Sargeant Stone. He never has revealed his first name, and likely never will. Stone prefers to face the enemy with his eviserator rather than standing back firing. Stones iron will has kept his squad together many a time, and has even forced them to stand out in the open on the path of an incoming swarm of hormagaunts, simply by saying "if you dont stand here and shoot then ill personally disembowl you". and he isnt joking. at his feet is a pile of intestines. Finally he lost his sargeant stripes when he was demoted to private for brutallity towards his men. However, he still leads them despite being 'officially' a meagre grunt.

this guys name is Private Viktor Gulukavich. Origonally his family came from valhalla, but they settled on the paradise world. they doted upon their only child and were so proud of him when he joined the defence force. it was sad then, that when they mutated, he killed them all. an utterly scarred character, Viktor will do anything to get the job done.

So far very cool .

Okay heres a quick WIP, hes a sneaky guy with a knife, a silenced pistol, and a demo charge strapped to his back. any guesses who he is?

No, pig iron don't do backpacks like that. Looks like half a vox pack and half a flamer pack glued together. Very nice model though, I like .

any ways atm im working on remodding my basilisk, so it looks slightly more *mean*. its got a chained corpse attatched to the dozerblade as my idea is that it was some unfortunate they drilled for information before being left on to die.

ive also got a techpreist enginseer, though im not really sure it suits my army anymore. hmm.

also! ive finished modelling my command squad, and am in the process of bringing my old guard army into line with the new armies ideals. eg. gasmasks and frikin bayonets.

now one final thing to ask all you lovely dakkaites.
how do you paint yello?

oh and another thing. i wanna get a tank, but which? thats right guys! you decide!!!

Have you seen Harsh Times?

The first scene of that movie would totally pump you up for this army.

If you haven't seen it. Christian Bale's character is a special forces soldier in Iraq, and he goes on this night time assault. He's wearing those skeleton gloves and his face is painted like a skull, he basically scares the crap out of the enemy before killing them all.

Warning, after that scene, we cut right to regular non-war city life. I found it a good movie but its not a war movie.

Anyway, excellent characterful guardsmen army, I especially like the skeleton bone theme. keep it up

okay. new update, ive just finished my command squad, this is bit pic heavy but tell me what you think. my guys arent hugely converted but i think ive given them a certain unique apearance. oh the medic hasnt come out well as a piccy. oh well
