Morning all

Myself and Arakasi have both recently returned to the hobby after many years absence and decided it would be fun to attend a tournament to get in a few games with people other than each other. It's using standard GT rules for force creation and goes as far as allowing Guard and Orks (which is what we each play) to fight side by side (with LD penalties). As neither of us have really played since 2E we were wondering if people had comments on the force that we've currently looking at taking. We're not looking to win the competition, just have some fun. But it would be nice to be able to hold our own and possibly win at least one game


Guard : 500pts

Primaris Psyker : 70pts
Psyker Battle Squad w. Chimera, +3 psykers (7 psykers in total + Overseer) : 145pts
Veteran Guard w. Chimera w. Hvy Flamer, shotguns, 3 Meltas : 155pts
Veteran Guard w. Chimera w. Hvy Flamer, shotguns, 2 flamers : 130pts

Orks : 498pts

Big Mek w. Kustom Force Field, Burna, Boss Pole : 110pts
12 Ork Boyz w. Nob (Power Klaw, Boss pole), Trukk (Boarding plank, armour plates) : 162pts
11 Ork Boyz w. Trukk (armoured plates) : 111pts
2 Deff Koptas both w. Twin linked rokkits, one w. buzzsaw : 115pts

The Psyker is to ride with the PBS, cloaking them while they get closer to the enemy; then it's a combination of their powers to try and make any tough units run like hell. The melta vets, Ork boyz with Nob and Deff Koptas will be tank hunting; while the rest tries to take and hold some objectives. I think you can guess what the KFF is for

So. Does that seem reasonable?

Put the Koptas in seperate groups. If I kill one they will run

Unfortunately, the force organisation rules require 1 slot of elites, fast attack and heavy support across the entire force before you can take a second - otherwise this would have been an option. At least this way we can do wound allocation to try and keep them alive longer. Either that or drop it down to one deffkopta and spend the other points elsewhere....

On a second Nob with PK prehaps`?
Otherwise very nice double tournament list. Would be great to battle against one.

We hope it's fun to play against, we figured people wouldn't be expecting an Ork/Guard team up
