INTRODUCTION
This was a while ago and may not be entirely accurate, but the results are. Comments and questions welcome. Enjoy!

The Red Scorpion points may not be quite correct - the Terminators were originally kitted out differently...

This is the follow on battle to Da Dark Angelz vs Red Scorpions, 750pts - we simply swapped armies for this - so I'm actually playing the Red Scorpions on the same terrain and getting to learn what he feels like to be on the other end of Da Dark Angelz...

RED SCORPIONS
[HQ] Space Marine Chaplain with Plasma Pistol (115pts)
[EL] 5 Terminators, Thunderhammers and Stormshields (205pts)
[TR] 10 Tactical Marines with Flamer, Missile Launcher, Apothecary, Razorback with Twin Linked Heavy Bolters (235pts)
[TR] 10 Tactical Marines with Flamer, Missile Launcher, Apothecary (195pts)

DA DARK ANGELZ (ORKS)
[HQ] Big Mek, Kustom Force Field, Burna (105pts)
[EL] 9 Kommandoz including 2 Burnas plus Snikrot (205pts)
[TR] 11 Shoota boyz (Big Mek attached) including Big Shoota and Nob with Slugga, Powerklaw and Boss Pole in a Trukk with Big Shoota, Boarding Plank, Reinforced Ram and Red Paint Job (161pts)
[TR] 12 Shoota boyz including Big Shoota and Nob with Slugga, Powerklaw and Boss Pole in a Trukk with Big Shoota, Reinforced Ram and Red Paint Job (162pts)

MISSION & DEPLOYMENT: Capture & Control, Dawn of War

PRELUDE
Orks win roll off and elect to go first.

Orks place objective in centre of table. RS place bottom left (12" in to be nice!)

Orks place Big Mek and Trukk boyz at centre, Deffkoptas outflanking and Snikrot plus Kommandos ambushing.

RS deploy nothing and reserve Terminators for deepstriking.

RS don't even attempt to seize initiative

TURN 1
Big Mek Trukk moves flat out towards RS objective in bottom left. Other Trukk moves flat out onto the board towards the Ork objective.

Missile launcher combat squad moves on towards RS objective. Razorback carrying Chaplain and combat squad with Flamer and Apothecary move on slightly right opposite Big Mek Trukk. Ten man tactical squad moves on opposite Ork objective and run towards the hill in front of it. Razorback pops the Big Mek Trukk. Combat squad fires pistols and assaults, killing Big Mek and running down the rest of the mob for the loss of a marine. They consolidate on the RS objective, the Missile Launcher eyeing off the other Trukk...

RED SCORPIONS: 1 Objective (3 KP), ORKS: 0 Objectives (0 KP)

TURN 2
Deffkoptas come on from left, sizing up the Razorback. Snikrot and Kommandos come on behind the Tactical squad. Remaining Trukk heads towards them as well, the Trukk boyz disembarking in front of them. Deffkoptas miss the Razorback, but immobilise it in assault. Tactical squad survives a fulliside of Ork fire (go power armour and FNP!) before being cut down to five in the ensuing double assault - but they hang in there!

Terminators attempt to deepstrike onto the Ork objective but veer widely, landing between there and the large melée to the south. Chaplain and combat squad dismount, and along with the other combat squad pour fire into the Deffkoptas to little effect before assaulting, trading a wound on the non Buzzsaw Deffkopta for a marine. The Terminators run to spread out. The combat between Trukk boyz, Kommandos and Tactical Marines ends with the Marines being wiped out - the Orks consolidating towards the Terminators. The Deffkoptas make their initiative test and Hit & Run put of combat, flying over the immobilised Razorback towards the Terminators.

RED SCORPIONS: 1 Objective (3 KP), ORKS: 0 Objectives (1 KP)

TURN 3
The Trukk moves back to the Ork objective and shoots at the Combat squad on the RS objective to no effect. The rest of the Ork forces line up to shoot and assault the Terminators, killing 3 and winning the combat.

Not being able to reach the Terminators, the Chaplain and Combat Squad re-embark in the immobolised Razorback. The combat squad missile launcher misses the Trukk. The Terminators succumb to the Orks.

RED SCORPIONS: 1 Objective (3 KP), ORKS: 0 Objectives (2 KP)

TURN 4
The Orks move towards the RS objective, hugging some ruins - the Deffkoptas making it opposite the Razorback, then Snikrot's Kommandos followed by the Trukk Boyz. Deffkoptas shoot at the Combat squad on the RS objective, along with the Trukk, but cause no casualties (most likely no hits!)

Chaplain and Combat Squad disembark behind the Razorback, the flamer moving forward to roast the horde. Firing at the Deffkoptas, he manages to cover most of the Kommandos and even four Trukk boyz. Combat squad missile launcher plus Razorback Heavy Bolter target remaining Kommandos, reducing them to a wounded Snikrot who then flees. Chaplain and Combat squad then assault the Deffkoptas, inflicting another wound but losing another Marine. Deffkoptas fail to Hit and Run.

RED SCORPIONS: 1 Objective (4 KP), ORKS: 0 Objectives (2 KP)

TURN 5
Trukk misses the Combat Squad on the RS objective. Trukk boyz assist the Deffkoptas against the Chaplain and Combat Squad, killing two more Marines.

Out of time, we realised that even if the Orks finished off the Chaplain and Marine this turn, they couldn't contest the RS objective to force a draw - so we simply rolled for turn 6 and the game ended!

AFTERMATH
As with the previous game, a bit of forgetfulness and unfamiliarity discovered later:
  • The Apothecaries (upgraded Sergeants) have two base attacks
  • Chaplain's Litanies of Hate


  • Other notes:
  • Deffkoptas, if survived and combat continued and make initiative for Hit and Run and rolled higher than 6" may have been able to contest...
  • The positioning of the 10 man Tactical squad was suicide
  • Things looked really good first turn, but felt like I was going to get annihilated after that until the flamer attack - basically the Orks kept finishing their combats in my assault phase, reducing my shooting and allowing them to charge again in their turn.
  • Of course, my mate also got all of his reserves turn 2...
  • Terminators should have run away from the Orks - though I probably wouldn't have got out of Waaagh distance...
  • Orks may have been able to Waaagh to assault the Razorback...
