Hello Dakka!

First time poster, long time lurker here.

I've always been a huge fan of the Adeptus Mechanicus for one reason. A lot of sci-fi novels, movies and games treat magic as if it were technology. A large portion of the Admech on the other hand treats technology like ritualized magic.

It's a lot like the way I treat computers. i.e. If a problem comes up I blindly follow a bunch of instructions from tech-support forums with no real idea why the solution works.

Enough of the rambling. Here's a shot of the whole army:

There's about 2200 points in the photo, out of which I normally only use about 1750 since that's the preferred level for my local group. Thanks to Stelek and the folks at YesTheTruthHurts.com for army advice.

Skittari and their Chimera:

The Skitarii are converted Bretonnian Men at Arms. The hoods and bionic eyes are greenstuff while the shoulderpads are plasticard. The torchbearer is converted from an old plastic night goblin. A huge thanks to Hortwerth, Apologist and everyone else who has images of their Admech forces online since I've copied shamelessly from their Skitarii designs. The Chimera was converted following a tutorial by Bungaroo.

The flesh is weak:

My vat-bred sacrificial unit, converted from Ghouls. Used as two squads of guardsmen in a blob with an attached Commissar to keep things away from my tanks.

Finally for today, a Psyker Battle Squad:

The psykers are converted flagellants while the overseer used to be an Empire wizard.

Hope that this is useful inspiration to someone, somewhere! All questions and comments are very much appreciated!

Feel free to ask for more photos of models you're interested in, I'll be happy to post them!

Edit 12/09/10: Scroll down for more photos, added pictures of the converted ghouls.

... *drool*... I love the infantry... very well done.

Love the detail on the tanks as well, Red seems a little bright on the vehicles, but thats personal taste... I like my imperium dark and menacing.

All in all, thats some Grade A stuff.

Fantastic conversions! The fact that you have the patience to sculpt & paint all these models in such detail amazes me, I'd probably give up after an hour. Could you post some close-up pictures of the HWTs?

Yeah, those are amazing mate. I'm the same, the red on the vehicles glares at me, I would have made it a bit darker myself, but all the Skitarri and Psykers and wonderfully made and painted. Well done mate, feel free to give us tips about how to make those Psykers, I've been looking for some inspiration on my own PBS and these look like what I imagine them to be!

It looks really nice! Well done!

I like the sacrificial unit and the Psyker Battle Squad the most. Looks awesome. The fleshy ones reminds me of genestealers and that can never be a bad thing . Are you 100 % sure that there is no infestation going on there...? Hehe.

I think they are Medusa's.
Nice work OP, I love the army, but the red on the tanks is too bright.

Thanks for all the great comments!

In defense of the red on the vehicles I felt I needed something bright to get people's attention in tournaments, otherwise the whole army looks a bit unassuming from far away despite the conversions. But perhaps more importantly "Red wunz go fasta!"

Here are some more photos I dug up/took today:

Skitarii Meltagun Squad converted from Empire Flagellants:

Tried to take some photos of the HWT as requested by Vomit but it's night time now and indoor lighting makes it hard. Will try again soon.

Autocannon Team:

Lascannon Teams

Vendetta with Admech emblem sawed off from the GW Manufactorium Terrain Kit:

Vendetta Wing Detail:

Vendetta Pilot Detail:

Finally a couple of Chimera photos that might show the red better:

Turret detail. The Admech emblem is a Chaos star with the points cut off and filed in the same way as the Psyker Battle Squad staffs.

In response to Jihadnik's question about the Battle Psykers: The bodies and arms are from the Empire flagellant kit. The open hands are from the Ghoul kit, I actually bought the Ghouls just for those hands. The vat-bred "flesh unit" squad came about because I couldn't stand to waste the rest of the kit! The heads are various GW bald heads, GW heads that I shaved the hair off or from Pig Iron Miniatures. Hope that helps. It's actually an easy conversion once you get all the bits (no greenstuff)!

Exellent work and execution of ideas.

I think I will have to take your Vat-bred Ghoul idea for my own fledgling Ad mech force.

What, no tech priests?
Just kidding, it looks great! those Fantasy battle models really looks good for this, good work on the green stuf. I have to admit they look more clean and... well healty I guess, than the followers of Omnisha usually are depicted. Im looking for the almost mutation style bionics and loads of guitar wire hanging from their robes, but this looks really good (besides, skitari are warriors, not priests, so they ought not have to much bionical implants *pointing out flaws in my own argument*). Good work! lots of inspiration here.

Figured out how to take better photos with indoor lighting. Using a tripod helps a lot!

Photos of the Company Command, as requested by Brother SRM:

I actually do have a Techpriest in the army who also happens to be one of the only unconverted models in it! I usually use him as my Company Commander, but if my opponent wants WYSIWYG I use the model in the photo above.

That's all for today, thanks for having a look!

excellent! I especially love the PBS, and how the paint job on the tanks look like an actual paint job.
