Already had some Tzeentch ones before these, just keeping the options open in case I end up feeling like a change later.

Started painting the puppet fiend. Remembered the Dire Avenger helmet colours wrong so it's going to be blue, but I haven't decided which colour to make the space marine helmet yet.


The tentacles with the puppets are also not in their final position to make it easier to paint them.

take the most hated team of SM you don´t like... ^^ what of the all time red jocks... the blood angles

My red is horrid though.
Think I'll go with green, probably darkish to contrast.

Could have been, though I'd be mixing up all the paints for it seeing as their colour is in sort of the hole of colours I don't have (with yellows and browns mostly for some reason, in the browns case it's cause I keep forgetting to replace them as they run out).

Happy with the way the picture for this one came out, pretty close up and doesn't seem too blurry. Not to mention it's nice a bright without the gallery's brightening feature I usually have to use for the WIP shots.


The only change was from an aquarium plant in the background to a nice piece of quartz I have for some reason and the position of the camera. Mostly I just put it on the display board with the model instead of on a tripod in front of it. I also put it on a timer for 10 secs so I could line it up then back off as I expected to bump the camera due to the tricky positioning of it this way, but I think it may be the correct way to do it from now on anyway. Unfortunately didn't notice the hole in the gem until after painting was almost done, but I guess it kind of builds character. That and with the hood you're not going to really see it anyway in game, and when looking from it up close the puppets try to take attention away from it. Though it'd be nice to get a picture of this size of just the puppets by themselves, something that may be a bit too difficult when I think about it.

actually the hole in the gem...could be a mouth or an eye... and you are right ...adss lots of character to the mini!

just one minior issue... the green SM head... the "mouth of the helmet... the lower "lip" could use some more gold...oother than that... looks already fantastic... if not really finsihed yet? or is it?

It was finished, but now I might fix up the marine head.

Well pushing the limits of the camera further a little here I think.

Still WIP, but at a decent size for once.

Not sure why seeing as I find this head annoying when it comes to painting, but I made two of them this box. The hair is also purple this time, not that it appears to make to much of a difference when I look at it now though. Same results basically, but mixing purple with white to progressively bring it up to highlight colour.

well with a bit of a wash to blend the rather stronger hightlights with the background better this will look quite good...

Maybe it's the close up, but I think this is probably one of the crappiest ones I've done so far. Looks fine in person but zoomed up this much...


Seemed to be something wrong with the face too, perhaps that's most of it. Ah well, one of them had to be the worst.

Got another of the Fiends finished for today's update. The second one I made before.

This makes the third so far, hopefully twelve of these shall be enough for the army as a whole. But, for smaller games six may be fine. This is of course for whenever it is I actually get around to using these in a game as they haven't had one since they were all grey shortly after I had built them.

Last of the four Fiends I currently have painted, means it's time to either paint more Daemonettes or build more Fiends. Though depending on how crazy I feel maybe a Daemon Prince or Soulgrinder; the plan is to have three of each after all (building them myself mostly makes this possible even though not all of them can be in the same game at the same time out side of apoc).

Then lastly for fun I decided seeing the amount of work that went into getting that many Fiends done I'd do a different type of army shot. Keeps it interesting for you all I think instead of just single models all the time.

Spending that minute looking for fodder for the rest of the Daemon Princes.

People seem to use these GW models a bit. They're on 40mm bases, but so were DPs before the current plastic.

Think I'll save them for a back up plan. Probably because they'd sort of blend in with the KoS a fair bit, though I do have the horns for both I think and the wings as well. Would probably build up their bases if I did go with them so I didn't feel like I was modelling for advantage, that and it could get some in flight poses.

Then there's the not-Keeper of Secrets (Euryalia, Queen of Ker-Ys from Maelstrom's Banelegion), but I'd give that one a touch more armour.

The trick with it would just be giving it a cloth like the FW KoS then maybe some slight armour to tie it in with the other models. Then deciding if it will be a DP which it'd get wings or just be a second KoS which will be added eventually. Would bump the FW KoS down to a DP if I do ever get one. The head spines of it sort of make me want to avoid it as I'd think they'd break every time I put it away or transported it.

hmmm... a good choice... the best part is those scratches on her bum... i bet that was fun related

the spikes i think too are highly problematic... but if you add wings i bet this would be kinda protective for those as well... and i bet you need a new carry case for her...

by the way... how much the fish in relation to the FW one?

FW one is £88.00 plus whatever shipping while the BL one is £44.99, but their shipping is free if you spend over £10 at a time. As for size difference the FW one is 165mm to the top of its hand while the other is only 142mm to the top of its hand as well. Sort of nice that they put up detail about the total height like that instead of trying to explain it by shoving some 28/30mm mini next to it, but doesn't hurt they did that either.

But the FW one is so beautiful!

I really do prefer it over the BB one.
