Why are they all missing their right shoulderpads? The painting is nice, but that bit really bulks them out.

The right shoulder pads missing I think actually looks kinda good. Looks more like fast, crushing CQC specialist than walking tank.

I see both sides that it looks weird, but it also makes them look more ''assault'' than brickwalls with turrets. (Not saying terminators are lame, I like them)

I even do a lot of my tactical marines with no shoulder pads.

I'm curious as to the reasoning behind this. To my mind the power armor models would look very "weak" without the added bulk of shoulderpads.

Those shoulder pads offer a lot of protection, but at the expense of a lot of manueverability. I use some CQC with no pads to emphasize that they are close quarteers specialsist and do more twisting and turning than normal marines.
