They look nice, im currently working on my own thunderwolf calvery What models did you use?

Oh and the riders look a little blue for my liking, but it might just be the photos. Great work on the wolves though

thanks for the replies.

the head is from the spacewolf sprues (wolf head)
the blue is a mix of codex grey and ice blue with a wash of asurman blue, pic doesnt do it justice. its dark for a space wolf but lighter than ultramarines. i think it makes the space wolves look better and less cartoony.
the wolves are from mythicast.com the legs are included and already attached to the wolves so i just used the bodies from the space wolf sprues and pinned them so that i can swap them easily.

used them last night in a 1500 point game and they kicked ass big time.
I love the twc and drop pod grey hunters list i have, I hate long fang gun line lists - it doesnt seem space wolfy to me to shoot long distance. heroes are forged in glorious combat not shoot and hide

Not all ar Mythicast wolves.. 3 are from a russian dealer & 1 is the GW pos.

The blue really throws the model off, its too rich & plentyful... it droaws the focus to the rider & away from the beauty of the wolves. I'd tone it down a bit more.

I have already covered the other wolves in another thread and they are not from russia they are from a guy on dakka from wales.

as for the blue, thanks for the feedback. i dont think the pics really do them justice as in real life especially once fully painted (almost finished now) the blue looks great, not cartoony like alot of space wolves. but its all personal opinion. ill try and get better pics now nearly finished.

See Take a look at myTzeentch Knights:

Although they are majority blue it doesnt dominate the unit & each caan be seen as an individual instead as just a whole.

I think these wolves are the most suited for twc.
Good luck with your future projects.

i think those horses and riders look really good.
as for the blue feedback i dont understand. your riders blend in with the horses cos there is alot of armour on the horses which you have done the same colour as the riders. also the large shields look the same colour as the horses themselves so i find it hard to distinguish where the riders end and horses start. but i do like the paint job. good work.

i have attached a few more pics of mine now they are getting close to finished.
the closer shots i think show them off best. you can see the wolves are wolves and the riders are riders. man and beast working together.

Exactly what Im saying, both rider & mount blend in together. so not one takes away from the other, on your models you have a bright blue rider with yellow trim wich contrast well together but take away from the less vibrant mount then on top of that you have biege colored bases. wich throws it all off balance. Try changing the colors of the bases & maybe that will help you achieve the balance thats needed.

Nice work so far.
