Hey folks!
In an effort to self-moderate and avoid drama I'm shifting my content to the blog I share with Hulksmash. My third round battle report can be found here: Linky Linky
While you're welcome to discuss the battle report here, I'd prefer not to be involved in discussions here - so if you have questions or comments for me, please leave them on the battle report. Thanks!
My other Battle Reports for this event can be found here:
Game One
Game Two
Game Three
Game Four
Game Five
Game Six
Game Seven

#1. It would help everyone to familiarize themselves with the Grey Knight psychic powers, because they are all cast at different times. I was sloppy myself in my first tournament and Janthkin straitened me out, and now I know exactly when to cast each powers. For example: Quicksilver (as mentioned) can only be cast on the GK players movement phase. Might of Titan can only be cast on the GK players assault phase, etc.
#2. "You know how many people throughout the weekend said to me some version of “Wow, you’re a pretty nice guy – nothing like I had heard.” Didn't you say that to me when we played?
#3. It is funny that the loser always accuses the winner of shenanigans (both in your Railhead Rumble as well as your Alamo GT batreps). I think that most games have a fair amount of them, but it only becomes an issue when you are losing.

This to the nth degree, I ran into the exact same issue playing a GK player with my slaanesh Daemons. I really needed to strike first and for 3 turns we played cat and mouse with his Librarian until I checked his codex, learned when he had to cast Might of Titan and Quicksilver and promptly multi-charge annihilated him.

This makes sense to me, when you look back at a win it is usually with less precision than a loss. I always think longer on games I lost and check rules to be sure I know my mistakes and how I should have played it. Also, when it is a win I tend to shrug my shoulders at 'cheating' since it did not matter anyway versus cost me a game.

Well, I learned something here. Did not know you can't slightly move things back from their movement to accomidate other things going past and whatnot. I'll have to keep my OCD in check next game, very tweaky with my destroyers and their line of sight =/

That's one of those things where you either moved them well or you didn't, but you're intended to make do with the consequences of the actions you make. The two biggest rule flubs I run into are people who want to "re-move" units, and people not knowing that you smoke in the movement phase, not in the shooting phase.
I usually hear, "That's how I've always played it!" answered by "That still doesn't make it legal."

Isn't this a similar issue to the question olympia posed in this thread?

i myself didn't really pay attention to the timing of "popping smoke". i'd have a hard time not letting my opponent 'not' doing it if they even mentioned it after going top speed up the field without obsurity.
it's fortunate that stuff like this pops up now so that I can coach the locals on it enough in pick-up games. really one of the under appreciated aspects of batreps in general is the finer points of the game.

Anyways, nice report Dash! waiting eagerly for the rest
