This was probably the best model for fitting together from Forgeworld I've had. Everything pretty much went together with little adjustment. For details on how it was painted, check out my tutorial:

very bright and striking painting. I have to say i love it, especially for the weathering which you nailed without a doubt. I love this model for it's generous amounts of dakka and you most certainly have done it justice. Supreme freehanding details mixed with top notch weathering resulted in a model that's orky... orky... and more orky. I'd love to see the rest of your army (If you have an ork army and not just the model)

The weathering is actually rather hit or miss, for me. I love the soot and the heat bluing, but the verdigris and dirt are too heavy-handed for my taste, especially in such a localized application. I think the ork is, by far, the best feature on the tank.

The overall scheme, though, is quite striking, and the paintwork is top-notch.

I'd have to disagree, I love the way it looks like the tracks have kicked up dust/mud/sand ...... tho I am a Dune fan.... so I maybe bias

this is awesome lots of dakka dakka!

How many Space Marines does it take to screw in a lightbulb.

6, 1 techpriest and 5 tacticals that stand around trying to pose like badasses.

An Ork, Space Marine and Eldar are walking down the road. They see a Chaos portal that has a sign on it. It says: 'say what is true or be sucked in'. The Space Marine says: "I think I'm the bravest" and walks past safely, the Eldar says: "I think I'm the most agile" and walks past safely. The Ork says: "Me thinks..." and gets sucked into the portal.

Gathering the Informations.

For the weathering, have you sealed it with some kind of fixative(like hairspray, to use an example)?

It makes the weathering a bit easier to notice and offsets the flash a bit.

This must have taken a very long time, it's a very busy piece. Nice work with the yellow bits, that's a hard color to paint.

If you don't mind me asking, how do you accomplish the skin tone? It's very good. Translucent, which is cool. I imagine it's some form of inking.

The skin takes a while to do, but it being the main colour of an Ork its worth getting right..........
Army Painter Black undercoat.
Orkhide shade
Tharakka Green Wash
50/50 mix Orkhide/Knarloc Green
Knarloc Green
50/50 Knarloc/Gretchin Green
Gretchin Green for extreme highlights.
After the above, depending on the model, to blend all the colours in, for Boyz and Grotz a 50/50 Water/Devlin Mud wash, for Nobz and above, an unwatered down Devlin Mud wash.

I use Tamiya Flat Clear Spray. Its a bit more expensive than other brands but the finish it gives is well worth the extra money.
