So, this army has been so long in planning, but after taking lots of inspiration from:
Proiteus' Grot Rebellion ( http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/227565.page )
Panic's Grot Army ( http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/261148.page )

I was inspired to make a start on my Grot 40k Force. Naturally, I'm using the Ork list, and there'll be tons of scratchbuilt/bitzboxbashed Mega Armoured Gitz, at least 2 Grot mobs, at least 2 shoota boy mobz (naturally WHFB Gobbo's with guns, as dey're bigga gitz) and maybe some bigger stuff once I get closer to apocalypse (really wanna do that looted Carni and Grot Fighta Squadron...).

I'll be updating this blog sometime around the weekend, maybe with a small update tomorrow or Wednesday, along with my other two blogs.
So without further ado, I introduce the first few models of Grotnut's Gitz!

I may run this as a Big Mek with a SAG in bigger games, with the two grotz representing the Big Mek's two wounds. Legal?

Haha the MAG's are so large though, they got a bit out of hand building them!
It's something from a Leviathan from the Cryx range, I got a ton of bits when our old flgs closed, and they were in there :')

Ahh, thought it was cryx. And nothing wrong with large, that's where the 'Mega' comes into it

Okay so I've been busy all week with work commitments, among other things, I've just this minute got the chance to sit down and write an update.

I've finally got 750pts of grotz built, I'll put a picture at the end of the page. Basically, as it stands the list is:

Big Mek with power klaw, 'eavy armour, attack squig and grot oiler 85pts
Warboss with mega armour and cybork body 110pts

5 Meganobz, 2 with Rokkit/shoota combi weapons, in a trukk 235pts
20 Gretchin, 2 Runtheards 80pts
12 boyz inc. Nob with power klaw. One with big shoota. In a trukk. 147pts
Deff Dred, Kustom mega blasta and skorcha 95pts

So if I've done my math right that should be 752pts, which isn't too bad!

Right, so onto my update. I've done some reworking of the Shokk Attack Gun, it's now some kind of Frankenstein style platform with an unwitting grot wired into it, and is essentially powered by lightning. I can't really see grotz wanting to fire each other through the warp, at the enemy, they have to stick together after all!

I've also started work on 2 trukks, one of which will be used for my meganobz until I get 9 of them and I build my battlewagon.
Furthermore, I've started 2 more Meganobz, one is a looted terminator, the other is some "stolen" mega armour, presumably from one of the many ork warbands the grots have gone AWOL from!

C+C welcome as always

Nice work on the shokk attack gun, love the restrained grot

Hard to make out details on black primed models but the trukks look good so far, that second one looks interesting.

Haha thankyou, I'm kinda secretly impressed with it myself :')

Managed to knock these out in a couple hours. Tomorrow, I have my first game with this army, 750pts vs Eldar! Gonna try get the first Boy squad and their trukk done before then, wish me luck!

Lemme know what you think

Had my first game tonight with the gitz, vs a 750pts eldar list.

He used a winged Autarch, 10 guardians, 10 Avengers, 5 Warp Spiders, a Vyper with Shuriken Cannon and 7 Striking Scorpions.

Turned out a massacre to me, the 20 Grotz held up the Warp Spiders, and he decided to charge my Dreadnought with his Autarch and he met a sticky end. By the time the Meganobz had piled out of the trukk and mopped up the Dire Avengers and Guardians in 2 turns, the game was all but over with just a Vyper left on the Eldar side, and only 17 Grotz and 2 Boyz lost for the Gitz.

Happy with that. Plan on starting some painting tomorrow, get my Warboss and Boyz boxed off. Update soon!

It's been longer than expected since I've posted an update here, the last week or so has been really stressful :')

However I got time to assemble a few new bitz, hopefully get some painting done tomorrow too.

I've managed to scrape together 2 units of 30 grotz, using everything from Forest Goblins to Gnoblars to Snotlings, giving them an extremely ramshackle appearance, earning them the name of "Da Grot Mulisha". I have them all assembled, and based, and I've just undercoated the first 30 and 3 runtherds, ready for paint. Gonna be a daunting task...

Thanks a lot!

@NecronBender
Thank you very much! I plan on having 30 for apocalypse and they'll all be individual. My Bitz box is gonna suffer :')

Have an update for you tomorrow, when I'll hopefully have painted 10 of the 30 grotz and grot round (geddit?) to finishing those Boyz.

Quick update! I'm sure you all remember last week that I picked up one of the Arachnarok spiders, based the crew individually and scattered them throughout my grot squads.
I've started work Bionik-ing up and building a tower as a howdah for the back. He'll be carrying my 10-strong Megagitz squad into battle once they're done!
