I posted this over in my blog for my new force but I thought I might throw it here aswell since it is... tutorialish.

I am going for a more worn/warm tone look than Templars normally get.
The photos are just quick snaps and I am not too happy with the painting on display or the photography but I feel the method is sound for knocking out a bunch of marines in a minimal amount of time.
Firstly after assembly and priming I lay down a base coat of
GW Charadon Granite.
Next I lay down a heavy wash of Badab Black
Then the waiting game begins and I assemble more stuff, once that is dry I give the models a quick and dirty drybrush of 1:1 Charadon Granite and Deneb Stone
Seems I forgot to take a few photos in between some steps. At this point any skulls, seals, pad details etc I give a coat of Deneb Stone, once the base coat is down I then wash them all lightly with Devlan Mud. This same process is done for all metal areas, guns, chains etc but obviously picked out in chainmail.
A further wash of Badab is applied to the metalic areas which i highlight back up the light/bone areas with Deneb Stone, at this point I also fill in any seals etc.
Using a Micron pen I add in lines of txt on all the seals
After that another highlight of 70:30 Deneb Stone and White is applies to the shoulders/skulls/seals, I use this to clean up the edges of the seals which may have too much "text" on them.
After that it is a matter of red highlights, attaching the backpack and cleaning up anything before basing
Then for the base I do a basecoat of Adeptus Battlegrey with a light wash of Badab and drybrush of Astronimican Grey. Since I am doing a dry tundra style base I then use a mix of winter green and autumn yellow static flock.
All in all as I refine this method I think I can start to punch these out at a rapid pace. I also need to keep practising D:
NOTE: I know some steps really lack images, as I paint more Initiates I will take more/better photos and fill in the gaps.
