Took your advice, this week's about the family. Being descended upon by friends tonight and lots more to come. Had a fantastic wedding on Saturday, very geeky, the best man's speech was done in the style of The Wizard of Firetop Mountain. Raise your glasses, turn to paragraph 400...

My helpful brother-in-law, who works for Halfords (car maintenance store, colonials), scored me some lengths of this:

and black primer (as recommended by weety).

Also, worked on some odds and ends:

Started robes of the bearers, other xenos menite, a weapon swap sob, and rebuilt my dialogus. So, some progress

You have a plan for the tubing, or just going in the useful stuff pile?

Possibly the camera angle, but the dialogus looks to have quite an extreme leg angle there.....

Cool I've always felt the Vultures in the Jungle Book shows Disney's unconscious Imperialist leanings and racial hatred of Scousers. Was it really the Beatles doing the voice over? The Spyrers an interesting choice for a heavy bolter but maybe in another warband as you might not want to imply both are servitors.

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

Somebody needs to explain this whole inquisition henchmen thing to me. Ice & Moonpie gave me the awesome MW henchmen minis they made for my MW painting comp last year and I'd like to use them as a basis for a little =I= allied group (inquisitor & henchmen mob). But I just don't get it.

Well, aside from the fact that they are gloriously customisable as physical builds, you can tailor them pretty heavily to your needs. Coteaz lets you take them as troops. Squads are 3-12 in whatever mix you require. Basic acolytes can be tricked out with bolters, storm bolters or hotshots, and 3 can have special weapons as required. You also get cc brutality with DCA, Arco-flagellants and crusaders, plus heavy weapons on servitors dirt cheap or on jokaero for more (but flexible - can swap in game).
Oh, and full range of transports available, too

The main reason they were popular is that they were an ultra-cheap (around 50 points) add on to almost ANY army (thanks to the rules) that allowed you to take an Inq and a single servo skull, to really screw up opponent's ability to infiltrate and scout, as well as making your own deep strike and blast templates more accurate.

Obviously loads of gs to do, but you get the gist. I wanted something grotesque and possibly ever so slightly blanche-y. The belly gun is ridiculous, but hey, this is 40k.

hmmm... I think you should soon invest in milliput ...then you could have sculpted these gapes way smoother... currently (maybe due to the colour green) it reminds me of moss^^

also... whenever I see a servitor without a second arm...even an artificial one... I get a very odd feeling... kind of sympathy pain...

but I agree, the ogre body together with all that tech and then the scorcha head... brilliant idea

Hi gang,
Getting on with the Ordo Xenos:

The SM will be a DW/BT. Not sure what chapter for the scout, want to keep the whole lot very muted, sinister, almost borg-like (the guy's a big trekkie).

Well, I do use milliput when I have to really bulk stuff out (eg gaps in sides of exorcist) but I hate sculpting it. There will be layers of gs musculature on this guy and also it's going to be stretched at connection points where it's been grafted into the flesh. Thanks for kind words
