I spent this last weekend prepping, priming and base coating a box of Empire Greatswords that I bought for an upcoming DnD game.

Painted a bit of the first Skitarii Ranger, the "color scheme test guy" ... right now he looks like a Sith Trooper from Knights of the Old Republic



So yes, I'm extremely happy with how he looks and I really want to continue painting today.

My wife managed to break off the two sides of my Spartan Assault tank, thinking they must come off. So I will be fixing it today :(

Re discovered space hulk on top of my wardrobe so been painting le xenos after a 5 year break! Better late than never right?

Do you have photos of these Dark eldar anywhere? It seems like I hear alot about them here but I didn't know if there were photos.

I used to play DE back in third but have abstained from the new models for lack of local wargamers. Gotta get my evil space elves vicariously!

It's the busiest time of the year at work, so I'm pretty worn down, but I'll see if I can get some pics up in my gallery over the next few days...

A lot of them are still WIP of course, and I'm a seriously slow painter ...

Ehh it happens

I'm in a similar place, been losing modeling time to exhaustion but its a hobby so I only do it when its fun.

As with the last few days, I will be continuing to strip down my 20 year old models and get them cleaned up for remodeling and repainting. The first batch I did on Sunday morning are still a bit sticky so most of them need brushing over and cleaning again which is a bit of a chore. Hopefully they will all be worth it though. Some of the detail that's coming up on the older models is really surprising, and shows just how badly 13 year old me painted them. Hopefully I can do a better job this time. Have some really nice Space Womble models that I assume are from the Rogue Trader era of the game.

Anyway, back to the stripping...I'm almost starting to like the smell of dettol...

Still painting my first Skitarii Ranger. Taking a long time considering I'm always going "Hum, maybe this color here. No maybe this one" *paints another color* "No, the other again!"

Going to try and finish some white Death Company to sell them on.

Tiny bit of painting, accidentally got black out instead of charcoal so I worked on some Enforcer guns today.

So most of the marines are no stripped of their nineties paint jobs, a few bits and pieces are in for a second soak in the detol, and then I just have the squats and imperial guard to do.

Dry brushing my Solitaire

Just about got my 3rd Word Bearer done, he just needs something added for more colour (he's a bit monotone at the moment). Not sure what to add yet, but he needs something.

Still painting the very first Skitarii Ranger. He's sexy, the color scheme is now set in stone, I'm 95% done with the basecoating and heading to details.

Gods, the model's so good looking.

More work on my Terminator Chaplain. Finally got some paint, basing sand, and some plastic plates to use as palettes.

I based the model this afternoon and will prime the model later if the sand and glue seems to have set. Hopefully by tomorrow painting will begin.

Slowly building Eisenkern troops from the original sets. I've got a 10-man and a 20-man box.

Can't tell the difference btw the right and left shoulder pads though. They're listed as parts 3 & 4 in an assembly diagram but then the sprue diagram doesn't seem to have 3&4 noted--at least not on the shoulder pad bits.

Got a Beastmen Battalion, a Warriors of Chaos Battalion, the Island of Blood Skaven, and a whole bunch of other things (Dragon Ogres, River Trolls, Forsaken, stack of clam-pack characters)... and I'm not sure where to start.

Need 'em for Warhammer Quest next week!

About the difficulty of the Rangers, well, they aren't difficult but I recommend following the instructions:
- Because they have the glorious mechanicus robes, the legs A MUST be used with Torso 1. You can't pick a random pair of legs and a random torso and hope it fits / looks good.
- Also, you have to be careful with the arms. Because most of the rangers are holding the weapon using both hands, you have to know what arms fit together.

Besides that? Nothing but perfection. The pieces fit together nicely, it's the same high quality plastic we know and love and the bits? Oh damn, the absurd quantity of bits I had left.

And well, today I hope to finish the Ranger. I'm already convinced this is the scheme I'll be using for the remaining 9, so I'm pretty pumped to see them all painted.

I'm looking forward to assembling mine.

In short, the models are a joy to look at. They really are damn cool and now it's time to start a batch of 5, the remaining ones with the rifle.

Today I'm playing in a 40k tournament at my FLGS. Hopefully I can do better than last time (maybe actually win a game!). Look for a battle report in the appropriate forum when it's over.

Bulding/converting my last Deathwing Terminator for an Ultramarines terminator squad. The Deathwing command box has some nice bits and the only nice poses you will get out of loyalist plastic Terminators but man are they covered in Dark Angel crap. So much scraping!
