Hey All

A while ago, there were a couple of game run here known as Genestealer, (or Mafia, Werewolf, etc) which were pretty fun (Run by Thor665). There haven't been any for a while though, so I thought I'd scout out some possible players for another game, run by myself.

For those of you who haven't heard of Mafia before, it's essentially a game of deception and detection, where an informed minority works against an uninformed majority to try and win. There are two teams: Genestealers (Mafia), and Imperial citizens (Town) (Determined randomly). The genestealers know who is on there team, and can work together, the town only know themselves. In addition to this there are a number of power roles, but I'll get to that in a minute.

The game is divided up into two phases, a day phase, and a night phase. During the day phase, all players discuss among themselves who should be lynched by voting for particular players. During the night phase, the Genestealers only (who know the identity of the other genestealers) choose a target, who will be killed, and can take no more part in the game. The Imperial objective is to successfully kill off the genestealers by lynching them - the Genestealer objective is to divert attention away from themselves, tricking the town into killing their own, whilst whittling them down during the night until there is a half and half split between Imperials and Genestealers, at which point the genestealers can overpower the last Imperial citizens, and set about chowing down on some Emperor-loving man-flesh.

To add some flavour to the game, there are also a variety of power roles available. For my first game I will likely be using just the Doctor (Imperial Psyker) and Cop (Inquisitor of the Ordo Xenos) power roles, but in future if there's enough interest this will be expanded to include Genestealer roles and possibly a 3rd party.

So, if you're interested, or have any other questions, post below. I'm looking for at least 7 confirmed sign ups before we start, but if there are plenty of people interested, we can expand this number, and bring people in as backups in case someone goes AWOL.

No love for Genestealer games in the forums? I wonder if any more of the old players would be interested. They may not even know...

You could try telling people in Dark's penthouse to try and get more members, perhaps?
