Maybe this is the wrong section for this post, but what franchises would make a good war game? Just wondering what people think.

●Aes Sedai faction
●Black tower faction
●Aiel faction
●Seanchen faction
●Evil faction with trollocks, forsaken, etc
These are the coolest that immediately spring to mind, but many more could be made.

I think A Song of Ice and Fire (Game of Thrones) really deserves a good tabletop miniatures game.

YES PLEASE!
Blizzard would be a cool one. Although, they would only have a handful of different armies, unless they combined both Warcraft and Starcraft. But I'm not quite sure how that would work out. Bring a Battlecruiser on the table to fight off an Orc army. They'll definitely need more than spears...

I'm not sure how to tell you this but...
Well basically Starcraft and Warcraft were originally intended to be the 40k and Fantasy video games...
Something went wrong and they became Starcraft and Warcraft instead. So there kind of already is a Starcraft and Warcraft tabletop...

Star Wars. But an actual TT wargame where you can assemble, paint and field a lot of ground units to your hearts content. Maybe 15 mm?

Honestly this would be really cool. I think I would have to go with either Logolog and the Shrews, or the Long Patrol.
I also like the sound of a star wars tabletop. I think that would pick up some traction. The X-wing battles has proven that there is at least some interest in a tabletop game for star wars fans.
But as for one that hasn't been mentioned, Might & Magic has a bunch of pretty interesting factions and units. It would be similar to Warhammer Fantasy

I'd really like a Starcraft tabletop game. I dig the Terran aesthetics. Yeah, I know it's still big guys with big guns in big armor, but if you can't tell by the number of Space Marines I have, I'd have to buy em! I really dig the Starcraft aesthetics.

Starcraft would be pretty cool, yeah.
Star Wars, Mass Effect and Halo seem like interesting ideas initially, but I don't think there's enough variety in their military forces to provide an interesting game experience.

I'd like to see a system that would support small skirmishes as well as huge battles. You'd only need two army books ('Goodbeasts' and 'Vermin') in order to encompass pretty much all the factions. Guosim shrews would make dynamite 'mercenary' units for a Goodbeast army. And if I'm going to collect a Redwall army, I'm either going with the forces of Salamandastron hardcore, or the most vile pirate crew I can put together.

I think its far more important that the game have good rules, a name will attract people to the game, but its the game play that will keep them playing.
At present, if 40K didn't have such a long tradition, and fans that had already invested large amounts of time and money into armies, I doubt the game would be prospering.

I have a peanut allergy. It's really inconsiderate.
"Long ago in a distant land, I, M'kar, the shape-shifting Master of Chaos, unleashed an unspeakable evil! But a foolish Grey Knight warrior wielding a magic sword stepped forth to oppose me. I'd echo A Song if Ice and Fire, Mass Effect and add Dragon Age.I'd also love a Mistborn skirmish game, or a larger scale Stormlight Archive game. Oh, Dresden Files too.

Hell Yeah! 15mm or 28mm, I'd plough money into this, especially if it expanded into the Old Republic era.
Halo would be cool as a Deadzone-eque skirmish game. Small squads, lots of terrain, heavy emphasis on weapons and equipment.
I'd say Marvel, but Knight Models are already working on this.
Elder Scrolls would be interesting, especially as an RPG. Yes, it's already an RPG in digital format, but there's still something to be said for a completely open tableto RPG. There's also a gold mine of fluff and history ready made.

This x9000
I would buy the gak out of a 15mm starwars tabletop game. The could almost do a flames of war style system with old republic, galactic empire, New republic time periods.
Plenty of unit types to keep collectors and gamers happy.

In fact, the Red Alert franchise would make for a good TT game as well, maybe 10-15mm.
