Since the end of the year is aproaching I figured this would be a good time to post the work that made you the most proud this year. Post anything, paintjob, kitbash, sculpt, terrain...
I'll start.

I normally wait until the end of December to ask myself this question, but I’m game.

Here is my (slight out of date) YTD shelf:

In addition to that, I have my chapter champion, and if everything goes right, it will have 4 more deathwatch by the end of the year.
Spoiler:

Overall I’m happy with my work this year. Volume was a little light, but quality was there. Some things I think I did a good job on the painting are tarnished by some flaws in the build. I didn’t quite capture the motion in the Wraithlord, the champion has a wrist that’s a little out of alignment. For some it’s just basic squad paintjobs. I like how the deathwatch turned out, but none of them really stand out as a favorite. Same with the Nighthaunts. At this point they are production work of known schemes. I think I did a good job, but none stand out to take the prize.

This sarge I think is a good mix of good build and solid paint. I can look at him and go “wow, I did good here"

I also think I did well on the bonesinger and Calgar.

Hard call this year. Not really getting a favorite. Maybe one will step up as I take their formal year end pics. Probably a run between the champ, sarge, calgar and the bonesinger. One of the guys in the squads might step up when separated from their fellows.

DV8, one thing about the robo-geisha that your final pics don’t show is it’s scale. With the detail you got on that you’d expect it to be actual size, or some reasonable fraction of that. Seeing your WIP pics I was stunned by how small it actually was.

Not sure if these are technically my best work of the year but they are the ones I am most proud of.

I was very happy with how my Lord of Change turned out, purple is a color I always found very challenging.

While not the happiest I've been with a model on finishing, or probably even the best as a whole, going back through the pictures I've taken, I kinda like this oathsworn shrew most looking back (as long as I don't look at the sword). Gotta admit the stuff yall have posted so far pretty well blows it away though.

I would say this here:

It is not much compared to the other work posted here, but for me it was a big step up in several aspects. Namely the skintone and -highlighting, the feathers, headdresses and skirts, the skulls at the feet of the warrior chief and the general idea and color composition. And it was generally the group of minis I had the most fun and the most rewarding experience when I first looked at the finished result.

Some wonderful painting in here by some very talented people

My personnel fav from this year was my Ork Delorian and that was all the way back in Feb, its once I've always wanted to do. Sadly since then I've not had much time to do any big projects.

Clickable pics for much bigger pics in the gallery.
This model was a nightmare to paint with so many different textures and components on a huge model. This will be my first, last and only sea king.

I think what I'm most happy about is painting an entire set of characters for a specific game for myself.

Something I completed at the start of the year, I haven't really committed myself to a model of this standard since. I took a lot of steps with this model, learning glazing, wet blending and how light works on a model.

These guys are probably what I am proudest of -- after several years in the hobby, I finally have an army I can point to and say "its pretty good, its based, its coherently painted."

or even this guy

Yeah, I know I am somewhat amateurish in my painting, but it has improved a good bit over the last year and a half of trying.

I picked up my old brush in August I think? For the first time in years. This is not that first miniature I painted after that break. I was drunk. It looked awful. But now it has paint on it.

This FFG Legion Han Solo is a Christmas gift for my father who is a Star Wars nerd. I also have a T-47 Airspeeder to paint for him as well but haven't gotten to it yet.

Han doesn't look amazing but I think I did an okay enough job and I think my pops will like it. So that's enough for me to be proud of.
