I disagree. I love pics. Based on what you've done so far, this little thing could be... amazing. Moar pics.

really, there's no big change to the previous pics of the walls , the scrap plates are just looking, well...more scrappy.
However, I promise I'll post new pics as soon as I'll have done something new on the fort.

Quite anecdotic, but I broke the flexible of my dremmel like tool while filing the plates

Cheers!

you broke a flexi-shaft? How the hell do you do that?

In fact the cable whithin the flexible broke at the level where it gets out of the locking device of the tool. Now the cable is about 1 inch shorter and the flexible is out of use...
I'm looking for a new flexible, but since it's a Ryobi and not a proper Dremmel brand tool, it makes it complicated (anyone knows if the flexible are compatible?).

Yeah, they should all fit the same collet. I have a cheap Milescraft flexi-shaft. Ryobi is supposed to make quality stuff? I would ask them to replace it, good tool companies will have a good lifetime warranty.

I'll see about it.

I managed to do some more work on the walls during my lunchbreak, using some Rhino spare bits and clippers. I'm quite happy with the result so far, but you guys will tell me what you think tonight when I'll get time to post pics.

Cheers!

Joe

As promised here are the last pics of the walls:

I still have some blank spaces to fill, but it's probably the way I'll go to finish the exterior walls.
What do you think?

I also have found this in a drawer:

I was thinking of using these on the interior side of the walls. Opinion?

These are looking great. Have to admit I'm painting up a bunch of Gorkamorka Orks at the moment which i got ages ago to do up vehicle crews with. Now I don't particularly plan on using the vehicles and haven't touched them in several years playing with my Ork forcce I decided to make a new Shoota Boyz mob.

He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

I really like those strut bitz, personally, they look too cool to not be front and center. Maybe just hack and chip edges of scrap plasticard and have it bolted and riveted on haphazardly. Don't feel you have to follow the original graphic art 1:1, you'll drive yourself nuts...Trust me

Well, the more I progress on this project, the less I care of the original cardboard fort. Now I'm trying to make as orkish as possible
I'll try to use some of the structures as you suggested, but there's not as many left as on the pic above some have already been used for the interior walls (the bottle of wine I spent a part of the evening with told me it was a good idea ) I'll post some pics soon.

Tomorrow is a public holiday and my wife declared it would be a thematic day, the theme being "cleaning all this mess"... I hope I'll manage to get some time to make more rivets (I feel the rhino bits are missing rivets) and to finish the exterior walls (TBH working on these walls is starting to get boring - but good work need patience...)

Cheers!

Joe

Hey Dsteingass, is it what you had in mind for the metallic structures?

I've add some more like this one on the walls.
H'ere's what I've started to do on the interior side:

I'll probably do the same as on the first pic, with riveted plates, the add some barrels, ladders, pieces on engine (and a squig doghouse). Any other idea?

Hey there!

After weeks looking at my fort with an angry eye (for I started to think it would be another unfinished project), I've decided to get back to work on it.
Not much done yet, but I found enough motivation to try to finish it before 12/31 (at this date, I'll have to leave it finished at my parent's place with my ork army and sceneries.)
Here are the latest pics:

I'll add some plasticard and pieces of rhino armor to make it a proper cover.
Cheers!

Joe

I was wondering where this was (and yes, I know... throwing stones as I live in a glass house) and all I can say it this is amazing! Perfect for Gorkamorka and 40K!

There aren't enough hours in a day for me to work on the 3 active projects I have. I need to win the lottery.
