yup a phoenix is defiantly a good choice for a farseer and the combi-rifle will not look out of place one suggestion though.
maybe you could use the chimera from the Überfallkommando as a Slannesh thing.

keep up the good work

Thanks.

Hmm, hopefully it doesn't come with the other stuff, but that facial expression is perfect.

Pheonix it is!

Well not much painting, got the two instruments base coated they sort of make up the minimum of what i need to finish in time.

And chucked together the Eldar.

And the Farseer conversion so far. Still a long while to go with it.

Bird isn't glued into place at the moment, but I put it on the base anyway to see how it looks.

And comparison of it so far with the old Farseer.

I'm going to reposition the arm a little because it looks slightly too low in those pictures. But, they're aside for now while I get these Daemons done. I haven't even got around to straightening the ranger rifles yet. Bits so far on the Farseer are one of the pike arms from a DE Raider, part of the sensors from a Wave Serpent/Falcon and the pheonix is from the HE Dragon.

Well the owl would have to since its made that way, but the pheonix is made to stand flat on something and wouldn't look right on the arm. On the plus side the thing it's holding I'm planning on making into a rune.

Anyway instruments are up to basing.

Well had a little painting break after powering through the Daemonettes a bit and moved onto working on the Rangers a little. Only these two so far and they're not done yet.

I have to remember for the cloaks.
Started with Codex Grey
Two heavy coats of Devlin Mud
Stippled Codex Grey
More Devlin Mud
More grey stippled
White stippled
More Devlin Mud
Bases done at the same time to make them blend in with the cloaks more for added camouflage.

I couldn't find an Eldar painter, but I'm basically sticking to this scheme I was kicking around before for some Grey Knights I decided against.

Did the barrel of Crouchy's gun bend between photos? It just seems to bend upwards rather suddenly in the bottom pics :(

Yeah, they were straight when I primed them and seemed to slowly go back to how they came bent as I painted them. -.-

The first two rangers are almost done. Kind of odd how the armour went, but I like the look of it. I can't do too much on the outer areas of the cloaks as it'd break up the camo a bit too much.

I've also been messing around with it a bit more and decided to rename the craftworld as since I'm now going with more of a dusk theme to represent the slow decline of the Eldar rather than the dawn theme it had before to do something about hope or whatever. Sort of like they're kind of giving up a bit; needs more grimdark. But, also to make more sense since the old name Aurum didn't quite fit it anymore. So using Google I quickly found some elf translator and just put in moon to get the name.

I'm thinking of going with the bronze in the emblem since it looks decent. The idea of it too is the orb in the middle will have a faint glow to it, sort of like it's the moon and the spiky/winged bit off to the side are sun rays. At least that's where the general idea of it was coming from. Of course with the new Eldar book looming not too far away it'll be restricted to these rangers and the Farseer for now.

Three pretty much completed. The first two are auto-adjusted as it was closer to how they were in person.

Also picture is a bit huge.

They're a bit messy and I'm not too sure on the cloak which is meant to be camouflaged for rubble a bit.

Well here's the fourth of the squad so far.

Wish that update would hurry up, my current Eldar codex is falling apart...

I'm a bit on the fence about getting more rangers. Currently they're alright and they still sell the old metal ones, surprisingly they are decently cheaper than the current rangers and also felt like maybe getting some of them and that crouching one. However at the same time this will leave me with 12 rangers, which might suck if they suck a fair bit in the new codex. I got sniper scouts for my original Space Marine army I started with and well they were just meh and put me off of sniper rifles as supporting fire.

So anyway I'm wondering what people think. Should I take the chance and get these other Rangers, or should I wait and hope they won't suddenly vanish with this update?
Also any thoughts on the camouflage, I'm trying to make it match the bases and look like rubble or whatever but it looks like a bad drybrush job mostly.

The camouflage looks great, the blue and grey work well together without making the model stand out. Be careful if you ever use them in a game though. They look like the kind of thing that you'd leave in a ruin and simply not see for the rest of the game

As for buying more, rangers are probably going to be updated to a plastic kit with the eldar release so it's up to you whether you think these ones will look better or worse than those will. And as for how usable they'll be, my expectation would be for an extremely skillful unit but possibly a little expensive.

I'm kind of hoping they'd get left in a ruin and forgotten often, just not by me.

Wow, I haven't visited this blog in a while. All the new stuff is looking great. I'm glad to had a go at those Raging Heroes Daemonettes because I absolutely love the models. You're doing quite a good job on them, as well. Everything looks great. Your Daemons are still among my favorite Slaaneshi Daemon armies.

I like the camo, very effective and realistic!

You're correct. The camouflage isn't the greatest, however, it looks great as a weathered brown-gray.

I guess it comes down to how much you like the current sculpts, and if you'd have anything else to work on between now and the Eldar release.

I see what you mean about the cloaks. The only suggestion I've got is maybe try making the drybrushing a little more subtle, and keeping it to black and dark grey? That way they might look less like stone and more like they could hide in the shadows.

I'll try that on this last one I'm working on.

Also it was these ones.

For some reason they still sell them as well as the current Finecast ones I've been working on. Cheaper as well and still metal. :/

Tried a different approach for this one. Also had an idea with the blue, but still need to darken it a bit and blend these highlights back.

I actually prefer our first version. I think it blends differently into the ruins than what looks like more of "monkeigh" camouflage. Gives me more of the eldar vibe to them.

I can't really see it, but I added a thick blue wash to the blue then a thin black wash. For the camo I did more stippling over the top with white then washed it back a little with black as well.

It pretty much looks the same to me still.
But I need to darken down those blue highlights some more still. Some more than others.

I can kinda see the difference, or maybe I only think I see them

Rangers are looking great, still, though

I think you may be trying to be too realistic and too much in scale, simplify it perhaps, more contrasting colors, in larger patterns?

In the top picture of your most recent update, I really like the part of the bottom of the cloak where there's patches of stone and patches of plain black. I can't put my finger on it, but it really drew my eye. It's a shame these cloaks seem to be giving you trouble, it's so frustrating when something doesn't work the way you want it to.

Yeah, I was hoping darkening a bit would make them more subtle again. Not going with rock camo again.

I think I'm about done with them now, I hadn't worked too much and have only just based the gems now on this one. I did try to darken it a bit with some Badab Black first and then did the base.

But at the same time I'm tempted to just go back to the Daemons and not even bother with the Eldar. The thought of shelling out $83 for their codex puts me off a fair bit, especially after I already did it for the Daemons so feel I should stick with them some more. Although there's another thing that's been catching my eye a little as well and that's Dystopian Wars. Most notably the Rebublique of France.

Of course if no one plays it theres not much I can do besides get maybe a model or so just to paint up. Maybe just the Skyfortress and a Magenta or two as an escort to display.

But I do have a decent choice of stuff to paint as it is without having to look at too much new stuff. Still got that Kirai to paint to match the new scheme I went with for my Malifaux crew.

That Dystopian Wars ship is purdy. I've been looking at Uncharted Seas for a while now, my boyfriend and I are probably going to get a starter set each once we've finished painting up our Dreadfleet ships.
