Yeah and so many tiny little rivets everywhere.

Only did a little work today, got the gems done.

Also heard from a friend that Malifaux 2nd ed is coming soonish apparently and we're to see some plastics of some of the older crews. Something to look forward to, definitely need to upgrade the Gaki to plastics if they're made. Those jaws suck too much to try and keep together so they're better off running without a lower jaw. But, also slight motivation to get the rest of the crew done perhaps. Would like to at least have a nice looking Kirai to sit on the shelf if a better plastic version comes along.

I'm going to GenCon, LMK if you need me to pick anything up Malifaux-wise, last year they had an amazingly huge booth.

Should be right, but thanks anyway for the offer.

I finally did a bit of work on the Farseer, got the base of the blue done for now. Planning on bringing it down a fair bit with glazes as I progress. Bird though I want to be a bit brighter so it's pretty much the tone it should be when done.

Also would have got a picture of the back but batteries went flat and after going through about 8 more trying to find some that would at least turn the camera on I gave up for now.

Well worked a fair bit on the Farseer. Have to finish the base and do a few things here and there still. The bird is complete I think. I'll need to try and get a nice closeup of it.

I agree with that. The eyes really make this paintjob. The green gem on the staff is really well done too.

Wow, thanks guys.

To tell the truth I was actually considering redoing that gem after looking at the ones on the scout before.

For this update I've started the belts and took a close up shot of the bird. Base also got some Devlin Mud.

I'd also used ink and a thin brush as usual to go around most of the recesses to make them look sharper, which of course I'd slip and mess up the mask's forehead so had to fix that up to blend back in with the rest while not touching those eyes and their glow.

Still need to get a better pic of the bird since I really like it.

Yep back to Daemons yet again.

Tried painting this one completely different to the others. There's completely zero drybrushing done to this.
I also based the pink in Screamer Pink instead of Lich Purple.

I also have a ruined Wave Serpent I think I may have mentioned earlier that will become a replacement for the box in the earlier Soulgrinder concept. I'm thinking at the moment the body of it will be crawling out of the front of the serpent, replacing the cockpit area. Then I just need to figure out how to support the model. I think going with a concept like it still hovers and slides itself around would make it easier than trying to build proper sturdy legs. It'd still need to be able to stand by itself. Probably get it a base as well so it can be secured.

There's nothing else to do with this WS besides maybe terrain.

Now THAT is impressive! I think the key you were missing is the clothing and gear needing to be more contrasting in color rather than complimentary.

Yep, what Dave Said, the clothing now shouts slaanesh. I've got to work on my daemonnettes. Darn you for doing such a good job that it sidetracks me.

Edited for iPad. Thanks Dave.

Really like the pink corset. Definitely a win. The glossy claws are also really nice. It kinda makes them look like purple scorpion pincers.

Also i don't think i've ever noticed the tails before. I'm not quite sure they suit the model...

Thanks guys, I'll take this as a sign it's a success.

Anyway I now present what is possibly the best Eldar vehicle ever constructed.

This beauty was soaked in Pine-O-Clean and then forgotten for about a week before spending three days submerged in water then about a week in a plastic bag in an attempt to hold together its majesty.

The window even kind of crystalised.

And possibly from luck all the gems seem to be perfect.

This is still for Daemons however as you're looking at the back half of the soulgrinder. As my brother pointed out it's easy to explain like this.

Cockpit area is to be cut out with the Daemon hopefully dragging itself out of it. While fused to it of course. The Daemon half already has two cannons grafted onto its shoulders at the moment. Not much to see just yet as it's basically just a legless, headless Barbie. But I'm still not 100% on it, I may just build it from scratch like the Daemon Princess; though this'll probably look better.

Good fething Slaanesh, what have you DONE to that thing!?!?

It looks like it's been stung by bees and has swollen up! Poor little tank!

I will be interested to see the conversion though.

Jeez what the hell did you do to that? Give it an acetone bath or something?

I'm liking the sound of a barbie with cannon attachments. This could get interesting.

I left it to strip off the paint, then forgot about it so left it in way too long. But not long enough for it to completely melt.

You could probably wet-sand that canopy clear again, but it would take a LOT of work.

Too much work, it was like that on the other side when I cut out the cockpit.

The two halves are now wired and glued together. Should be sturdy enough for now while the GS work around the waist to secure it better is done.

The arms aren't fixed, not even sure I'll keep them that long at the moment they're being used to support its weight a bit. I'll probably leave them as is until I get a base for this, then I can work on making it stand up a bit. I also have a Basalisk cannon if it needs more firepower. Seeing how it sits that can either burst out of the chest a bit or be coming out of the mouth. Cut down a little of course.

As ideas to make it combine with the tank a bit more I'm thinking of maybe running cables out of the back and into the top where the turret was. Alternatively I could flatten that area a bit and set it up like a badass chariot.

It usually starts with "You know, my army could use a fiend/soulgrinder/deamonprince/etc" then I see the price tag as a challenge. Then my skills come in and I have to compensate to stay with something I can actually do or almost do.

Plus this guy's only good for Khorne/undivided.

And I hate Khorne and Nurgle models; except maybe the Nurglings. Undivided I'm kind of indifferent to; it's dull but some of them can be alright.

But, Slaanesh is meant to look sleek and quick, not bulky and apelike. Add in some Eldar taunting and it's golden.

Lots of GS for this update, it's still curing but I think I've got a solid connection between the two halves now.

Leftover GS went to bulking out the back at the ends of the cannons to smoothen out the transition to the rest of the back. It's probably a little larger than the actual grinder when I think about it, but meh. Checking with the chariot it's going to be big for the base, but I'm not that worried about that either, just means I'm a bit more restricted with how I get it to sit on the base. Alternatively I can get the monster base which actually comes with the grinder now for use in fantasy. It's about 30mm longer than the oval base and the same width so might be the better choice anyway. If I can figure it out I may have flames twisting out of the wrecked engines. Then slant it forward a touch giving the nice impression this thing's zooming towards you. But, since it's probably not so great to actually get this thing in combat it may just be better to leave it with a more stationary aiming pose. Arms positioned to steady it as it bombards the enemy.

Okay, don't think of me as too wired for guesting this, but sersi had a concept in works, but I never get in contact and the thread has died since. This reminds me of the work there . Might I suggest since the daemon is bound to the machine to run chains around the wrists and then back to the falcon tips. Some small gauge jewelers chain would be about right.
