lol. Ninja Division the design this battle board. I am sure at some point they will jump in and explain . This is only part of a 2by2 . Wait till you see Hell in it's full hellish glory. We hope gamers from many settings pic this one up also.

Ninja Division is made up of Sodapop, Palladium, and the important one for this, Cipher Studios. Cipher Studios currently holds the rights and licenses to Helldorado. I'm assuming that this is Hellscape board is for that game, much like your streets were for Dropzone Commander/Robotech...

Wraith of Kings perhaps?

I thought that at first, but there are other games like Zombicide (Guillotine Games) and Wrath of Kings (5 Houses Pte Ltd) that are owned and developed (from what I can tell) by other companies, but are published by CMON. And while CMON is also publishing Relic Knights, Games n Gears did mention that it was Ninja Division and not CMON. Currently the only properties that Ninja Division has access to are Palladium's stuff, Tentacle Bento, SDE, Relic Knights, Robotech, Helldorado and Anima Tactics.

You could be right, I just think that it might be Helldorado related.

Here is another teaser, showing you yet another sneak teaser preview. Hell is coming. Here is an early concept that we did for it. We cannot wait to show you the actual Battle Board in the in all it's Hellish glory.

Suggested settings/games you can play/use on Games & Gears Hellscape Battle Board for:

40k (Demon World, Traitor worlds, world that are being warped by Chaos)
Warhammer
Helldorado,
Warmachine
Hordes
Relic Knights
Malifaux
Dark Age
Anima Tactics
this list is not exhaustive.

What we know from Ninja Division. Is that these battle boards are designed to transcend game settings. However it does compliment a certain few very much so.

2014 will be the year of zero GW purchases. Kneadite instead of GS, no paints or models. 2014 will be the year I finally make the move to military models and away from miniature games.

lol thank you.

The reason for the time length on our side is as follows:

Battle Boards will be delivered from 2-4.5months of the end of the KS. First 1500 Backers will get their battle boards within 2-3 months (we will nail the number soon). The rest will be within the 4.-4.5 months threshold. We don't do delays and dispatch on time. Doing this is actually a lot of hard work and needs a lot of prepping. Unlike the mountain of load of KS's where you have to wait 6-12 months for a product so they have a hell of a lot more time in prepping and still delay.

These "state of the art battle boards" (public statements) we want to show them in their full glory. So once were are funded we hit the mass production "button" and there are no headaches. For you or us.

It's not just about bringing about a great idea. It's about that and delivering it to those who have invested in us and honoring our commitments. We are working night and day and enjoying it. Although at times we do need some respite. You are worth it. Thank you and everyone for their endearing support. Keeps us going.

Best,
The Crew

Its strange. One part of me hates the big dumb petagrame in the middle if the board. But another part of me loves it. As long as their is no reapeating textures of doom like last time it will be ace.

I suspect in the end it'll be seen by most like the "skull pit" on ROB. Appropriate for the game it's sold to use with but out of place with anything else.

I'm just looking for a generic grass or desert board, where the detail is very nicely done and the price isn't too high.

Agreed, the Games & Gears Hellscape Battle Board will transcend well with most fantasy settings like WHFB, KOW, Helldorado, even to a great extent 40k (Demon/Choas, traitor worlds). But it can also work in Hordes and Warmachine. But of course will fit in more strongly with some settings as opposed to other game settings naturally.

I saw these there, and man, they looked so good!

As a backer of Secret Weapon's modular tiles... I will ALSO be backing this one . The fact that they are 2x2 makes them fulfill a different role for me, and I ordered a fantasy set of tiles from Secret Weapon and this is more modern / sci-fi.

I should've taken pics, but I imagine someone must've? This product was even better in-person

Yeah,
I was a backer of the first games and gear battle board kickstarter and was dismayed that people didn't back it!

With the success of their excellent brushes kickstarter, all delivered on time, Games ands Gears now have an proven track record.
I can't wait to get involved in this one.

Panic...

I will agree, the boards looked quite good quality wise, but, seeing them in person the dropzone commander board has ideal road depth for 15mm, for 28mm it needs to be more down.

I think exaggerated 40k model sizes/scales have spoiled us and the fact that our models are standing on thick bases confuses us!...
How deep do you want that curb? in reality most curbs are about ankle deep?

I accept this board was planned around 15mm but I plan to repaint and remove all road markings anyway, in fact I plan to dremel the feth out of my G&G board when I get it, and make it look like it's been around for 10,000+ years, the prepaint is merely an early base coat in my eyes!

Ideally deep enough to create the illusion the road is lower when a model with base is on it.

These will be sole deep without base for 28mm Infinity models.

I don't think 40k has spoiled me too much. This was one of my issues with the board as well. I ran my fingers over it to see how high the curb was, and my clipped fingernails got caught on it. It's most definitely made for 10 and 15mm, it just looks a little goofy with 28mm.

I think they are going to offer versions painted for 28mm... ie, without a centerline painted on the road.

I don't think the board will look "goofy" at all. For the price, it'll be fantastic!

Of course, given that I play Dropzone Commander, I will likely get the version with the painted lines on it.

As long as the Kickstarter offers more than this urban theme, i'll be happy.

I've been wanting this for ages... and held off on Tablescapes due to financial duress at the time, and this one looming.

Only problem is... a nicely textured grass, etc... would be way more useful than urban streets.

I'd also kill for something closer to Tablescapes in terms of depth/height. I actually like hilly and textured to a high degree, especially if i'm linking several modular pieces together anyway.

I'd consider picking up these streets and switching my Tablescapes selection to their Ruined Temple (the sort of theme I don't see Games and Gears doing as well).
The curb depth does bother me though, and the price isn't so radically different that I wouldnt just go with the other available option that I'm already partly commited to.

Hey all,

Thanks for the support. We are working hard to bring these battle boards to you. Wait till you see the attachable gaming trays for these battle boards. They are very slick.

We are busy making sure these are the best battle boards on the market and at the same time affordable and not crazy prizes. It was a great joy to see so many people see one of our battle boards at Gen Con 2013 and we still recovering from it.

Ninja Division & Games & Gears are working hard to get the rest ready and done. Which is Hellscape & Anime Wars.

So thank you for your patience, excitement and time. We want Games & Gears battle boards Kickstarter to be fully ready and for you to know that once you pledge there will be no delays and your battle board will be delivered on time and a lot more.

Doing it right is a lot of hard work, but you are all definitely worth it. With your support we can bring these battle boards and change the table top gaming experience for good.

ok this is just so very cool from G&G Facebook:

"Sneak Preview... How many miniatures can you fit on a Games & Gears Gaming Tray???

Can you guess how many miniatures are in this Games & Gears Gaming Tray?

Ever hated placing your casualties on the table top, afraid they might get damage on the near end of the boards??

Hated having to put your miniatures in the middle of the table just to deploy them again in the deployment zone?

We we have found the solution, attached these slick Games & gears Gaming trays to your Games & Gears Battle Board, and change the way you play and enhance the experience. You can attach these to any side. Place you gaming tokens, cards, dice, tape measures, templates and a lot more on our Games & Gears Gaming trays. Not to add a soon to be revealed Gaming Dice tray. These trays are a slick 24" long & wide enough to fit a lot of your gaming accessories. We want you to just move your miniatures on the table and have a more cinematic game! Hope you like this sneak pic."

And BAM ( this part was me not G&G haha)

guessing 100 miniatures in the tray????

Looks closer to 50 in that pic.

Not entirely sure what they mean by 'attach to any side', are these strong enough to hang off the table when filled with models?

A little off, the number is a bit higher! ;P.

No stress on flat surface! If no surface underneath as future demonstrations will show it's fine. No other battle board we know of (possibly ROB) can hold well if both ends of the battle board our 12" outside a table surface, Ours can. The Games & Gears Gaming Trays has the same tech. The Games & Gears gaming trays can be attached or glued to either side, whichever you are happy with and makes most sense to you. If you have a space issue you can attach and detached them, if you are fortunate to have enough ample space to game at home you can have them glued on as just another option.

On the model count. If you play warhammer you can have 5 ranks of normal infantry deep no problem. We have not tried is but we think you can fit 100 (80 for sure!) Warhammer infantry models.

So on a 6 by 4 we know you can fit 180 Warhammer Infantry miniatures (3 Games & Gears Gaming Trays) , will check to see if you can do 200 . However we think the main purpose of the Games & Gears Gaming trays will be for your gaming accessories.

Good for metal. We should release maximum metal weights in KG for metal armies. As each army varies in sizes and weights . Note this is for only tables that are small than the playing/tray surface. Like any other battle board they are awesome on flat surface and the only one in the world (with the exception of ROB??) that can be played with without stress from miniature weight if the surface underneath is smaller than the Games & Gears Battle board. We did this deliberately as we know know everyone has a big table at home/store/con.

You keep making this claim about how your battleboard and RoB are the only ones that do x, y, and/or z.

There are 3 battle boards out there that I know of, RoB, yours, and tablescapes, and I've actually gotten a chance to play with Tablescapes. So who are your competitors?
