Well I'm walking some Mooshrooms back from the biome to my house and then will set up a shop in Suburbia.
I decree mooshrooms for all (With two diamonds )
Thanks, they're trapped in a island 9500 blocks away from my house. Either way it's worth it, I will make a communal mooshroom in suburbia with a little statue. And a note saying the difficulties I faced.
My house has only mycelium on it, and no mooshrooms spawn. Though I do have a lot of sheep on it because they keep getting let out of their pens-- SOMEONE is leaving the doors open.

Just curious who dug that massive hole under my house that has claimed my life a few dozen times.
Deminishment did, and I doubt he would be bothered to fill the hole up
InquisitorVaron wrote:Well when I get these 8 Mooshrooms back I will be selling them and putting a communal one for Mushroom stew near suburbia in my general store Anyway, my general store will also have tons of iron from my iron ingot farm which is being built.
It seems like the kind of game you play when your bored, but not as a main attraction, honestly. Though I am apalled; I create a Tower of Blocks that goes above the clouds and jump from it. Landed three blocks to the left......
So, I ended up exploring the last few remenants of the unexplored tunnels I have under my fort/castle. I found lo and behold, a SPIDER dungeon. Said dungeon also gave me 4 saddles (Which I am going to donate away).
I need a tutorial for a spider killer OR XP grinder based on it. However, the area near it is riddled with caves, so it needs to be compact.

That "hole" was a work in progress basement. When we dismantled his house we just left it, thinking that the next guy who claimed the plot would be grateful that his plot was already hollowed out to bedrock. It's a huge pain in the ass to make a basement in suburbia, with it floating on top of water and all.

Well, thanks to dark, I now have a real basement. When would you possibly need a basement that big?

Anyone else having logging in problems on MC? I can access and login in on the website (and play) but I have to play offline using the downloaded version, and so can only play single player?
Also, how do I fix this?
Whoever was building around this village, I went there looking for villagers and found it almost destroyed by creepers. Zombies and skeletons were running rampant.
I evacuated two remaining villagers to a sanctuary to breed them.
When you've got the area once again secured I will be happy to return as many as you want.
I'm trying to patch minecraft with modloader to get IC and EE working, but tis not working

It's really up to Coolyo294 try PMing him. Or I suppose it could also be up to Melissia, as suburbia was her idea. But it's Coolyo's building. I dunno it's a vague situation, go for majority vote?
Vulkan_He'stan wrote:Is TNT the best idea in suburbia?
Yep. Trust me, I'm a sciencey man.
And we could always have people briefly plate the walls of their house with another layer of material. In all honesty, if we do it right it shouldn't leave the 11x11 plot.

I think it's Coolyo's decision. As long as he's in compliance with the rules set out when he started he should be fine. Blowing up someone's stuff just because you don't like the aesthetic? No thanks.
Also, if I think your house is ugly, Blap, do I get the right to nuke it with tnt? And that is why I hate that rule, everyone has different tastes, what you call ugly, I call beautiful
sure, if everyone hated it, then coolyo would have to rebuild, but not everyone does, so, yeah
Ian Sturrock wrote:It's ugly, it's way over the height limit, and it almost totally hides my house from view on Dark's lovely .png file! I vote for TNT.
In picture one it's the building furthest right far above the house limit. I would just say that it should be made smaller.
The materials aren't too disagreable and with some Architectural tweaks it could be very nice...

Probably no to the hole, the TNT could potentially damage the surrounding houses, roads or lamps (which would probably get you killed in the case of the lamps ).
As for living there I'm pretty sure you just need to find an unclaimed plot then build there.

No, you already have a huge hole, don't go making another. As far as I know Suburbia was supposed to be lots of small houses all together, not giant holes. If your hole is full of mobs, don't you think a new one would have the same problem? Just light up your hole with torches and block off any passages that are "spewing mobs".

I tried. Then I got munched by Mobs.
I'm seriously considering nuking the basement, as it seems to actually help Mobs creep into Suburbia. Either that or I need some resources and a bodyguard.
InquisitorVaron wrote:I would like to visit your basement.
I don't think it's that dangerous or difficult.
I just think your lazy and TNT happy, without much TNT
I have placed Torches and blocked up side caverns, and still they come at me.
Admittedly, I was thinking about the quote "Nuke it from orbit. It's the only way to be sure." when I posted that.
Matt.Kingsley wrote:you can only mine stuff that is in your plot
This times a thousand. I mine under my plot to check out whats there, and next thing I know, I'm dead, fallen into a hole from which there is no escape.
Doesn't need to be too far out, just that most of the time if there's a lot of people in the same place the ground below will be mostly hollow cause of everyone mining it.

I tried, but when you're mining, you can't really stop at a chest every time you mine an ore or something, so along comes a Creeper, or a hidden Lava pit, or a massive hole...

Jens tweeted this a few days ago:
Spoiler:
However also note the slightly different red ore in the top right corner (in the world, not the inventory dialog), so those red discs/coins may or may not be redstone related...
Interesting, by the looks of it they're a sort of currency for trading with villagers. I think they mentioned wanting to add trading with them a while back, but it'd be nice to sort of have a currency.
As for the ore, it could be redstone; but they have sort of snuck things in like that before.
I suppose then we could come up with a price for all the main things we trade to make use of the currency outside of villages. Of course only to add to the barter system we have that works.
n0t_u wrote:I suppose then we could come up with a price for all the main things we trade to make use of the currency outside of villages. Of course only to add to the barter system we have that works.
Well, that could work, but we'd need a way to stop thieves. And a conversion chart.

I really hope they aren't adding a new ore. Especially since it would only appear in new chunks.

Someone suggested using MCEdit to run a filter that adds a scattering of the (potential) new ore at a rate of 3-5% in existing chunks.
So that's one possibility, but would have to be careful that the ore doesn't end up breaking portals/redstone circuits/just generally making a mess etc.
I always backup the world and test it on a second server in MP mode anyway (no need to test it in SP). But we'd have to wait till it's released too of course

Finally, Mozzy's Coliseum and my Casino (planned) will come to use!
n0t_u wrote:Just invented (at least I might have, may already exist elsewhere) a game as well. Seeing how pool tables seem sort of useless I had an idea and adapted mine to this.
The table is 5x7 and in the center of each side is a dispenser with a button underneath.
Each player gets two red dye and two yellow dye and loads them however they want into the dispenser; without telling the others the order of course. The items cannot be placed in stacks and must be by themself.
Each player then bets which will be the dominant item; red, yellow or tie. Then each player presses the button causing the dispenser to randomly launch one of the items.
Doesn't have a name yet though, but it is pretty similar to Chou-han, except rather than the two choices there is a third as well.
If I could be bothered, I'd get something like better than wolves or equivalent exchange, maybe industrialcraft, but I seldom play MC nowadays anyway...

not really concidered modding, but the thought of nuclear reactors is too tempting...
what would I need? and is there an easy way to disable mods so I can go back to vannilla if I need to?
also, can your reactors go into meltdown and chernobyl your base?
Automatically Appended Next Post: didn't see this up
12w21a May 24, 2012 Added Ender Chest. Added Emerald. Added Emerald Ore. Added Villager Trading. Made Buckets Stackable. Added snow to Creative Inventory. NPC Villages change style acoording to their biome. Stars are more realistic. Changed Gravel texture to less noisy one. Improved Options menu. Added Pyramids. Added a second Golden Apple made with Block of Gold. After being consumed, Player receives 30 second Regeneration IV, Resistance and Fire Resistance for 5 minutes. Added Sandstone Stairs
Bug Fixes: Removed Server Jar dependency in Single Player.
Notable bugs: Emerald ore has the wrong texture. Loading a world from a previous version corrupts it. Generated structures are very buggy. New Golden Apple does not appear in the creative mode inventory screen.
FM Ninja 048 wrote:also, can your reactors go into meltdown and chernobyl your base?
Sort of. An unstable reactor can't exactly "Chernobyl" your base. Chernobyl didn't have weapons-grade material, the explosion and fire were the result of non-nuclear reactions, spreading radioactive material throughout the area.
I was walking past it and creeper nipped the side of it, I have repaired the damage well what I could of it, I accidently took the wood from the chest to my ship (I forgot to put it back)
Sorry about that, I'll return it with some extras for you !
If you mean this one:
http://www.darkinnit.com/dakkamap/#/-484/64/-95/max/0/0 (the tree of dispensing or something like that)
then I can't remember who made it, but I may have to check that none of the redstone under the soil was damaged. The redstone under the soil powers the adjustable enchantment room that's beneath the tree. :-)
Or someone else can test it, just flip the switch and see if all the bookcases pop out/go in.
New snapshot looks VERY interesting but for some reason I can't get it working, it comes up with a weird message mentioning the server not being available (on singleplayer).
It's because they're merging the multiplayer and single player code together. Download the server jar from here http://assets.minecraft.net/12w21a/minecraft_server.jar and pop it into bin/server/ (create the server subfolder)
so, anyone else think its a bad idea any nether chest can have everyone's contents? I mean its great for trading, but if there was another griefer it could be quite easy for the wrong person to get the goods
Battle Brother Lucifer wrote:so, anyone else think its a bad idea any nether chest can have everyone's contents? I mean its great for trading, but if there was another griefer it could be quite easy for the wrong person to get the goods
Enderchests are pretty hard to make last I checked and I doubt anyone will use them for anything other than trading.
Well then, I'm not gonna be using ender chests.
If only notch would add locks of some kind to the game to stick on doors (can't be opened/broken by anyone who doesn't have a key/code or something) and chests (similar kind of thing)
I know there's cats, but trying to get, say, 15 cats for a house and then for them to sit on just a chest, then having to move them on and off each time you want to get a stick isn't great...

This is my uber fast leveling farm that can level you up to 50, that's right, 50 in under 20 mins! Every enderman is a one punch kill, so its easy grinding without making a sword! Just go to the End, via Absolutionis's citadel or Wolf's pyramid then follow the path behind my End house to the grinder. Pics:
Its for the public, with enchanting room there and all so you don't lose your levels. A few have used it and all love it.

Dispensers just keep getting better. Would be great if it would add the lava or water back to the bucket when you turned it off though, but all the recent changes to them have been good.

Yeah, if you don't, we will have a rather large problem on our hands.
Existing placed wood slabs won't be flammable (as they still retain the old item ID). Only new wood slabs will be flammable. That's the theory anyway. Plus fire is nerfed to only spread to a certain radius anyway.
Tyranid Horde: How does that grinder actually work? I've come into possession of an ender portal on frostoman's tekkit server, so might just have to steal the idea.
hey guys I need some help if you check in my area i have a very large castle that I am planning on building it is going to be basically a ruins so it should be an interesting concept . Any donations in stone brick and cobblestone and stone or anything that is castlier would be great.
The trick is to have the dispenser in a hole in the cieling that also has a torch in it. Nobody will look up when they see the light coming out, and if you have a hidden pressure plate (maybe smoothestone with snow around it, to disguise the hight difference) underneath connected, folks will get blasted.
Or you just hide a pressure plate somewhere with TNT underneath. Or wired to blow up further on.
Dig massive 11x11 holes that look like world holes and have Lava just underneath the surface on all sides. Hidden from vire though. Then have diamond ore to tempt them to dig down.

Can I have suggestions that don't involve griefing about how an evil organization (not mine) would be evil (not on this server)
Follow people around with an evil skin on carrying lava buckets, flint and steel, TNT, swords, that sort of thing. Never do anything, just "sneak" around, making sure someone sees you. Works even better with more than one person, it makes it feel like a conspiracy.
