I'm not sure if i've missed a link, not knowing a great deal of tau fluff, but the kroot machine seems a tad "orky" to me. Having said that, the humour in the model is great, especially the eyes on stalks effect.

I'm a big fan of dymanic posing, but being unfamiliar with the original model I'm not sure exactly how much conversion has gone into your chapter master piece. Whether its mostly you or mostly the original sculpt, its still come off really well. More please!

Well I wasn't lazy either and completed another model that I (currently) find my best conversion model...
It's a 95% scratchbuild and is depicting the last desperate moments of an Imperial defense against an Ork attack.
In this mini you see the Ork Spida walking machine "Evil Eyez" of the Stachelnschweinz Clan on Dencara.
It is manned by a Gretchin crew and attempts to dish out the final blow to the Emperors defenders...
...but somehow it is...unplugged

Hmm, why do I have the sudden urge to make up a new Mad Dok conversion stand in character called Dok Waaaghless.

Then try and make up one of my own.

The first conversion i have done in a long while. Master Uriel is my deathwing commander belial counts as. Made from lufgt hurons arms with the flamer cut off and commander culln's storm bolter hand added, some wolfguard legs, a normal termi torso, the fw marine upgrade head and a bit of gs work removing icons and re sculpting other bits. Id love some feedback on it. More pics in my gallery or plog in my sig.

The extent of the conversion can be seen in the "before" shot. Never totally hacked apart a figure before... then reassambled parts of it with other bits, then GSd the missing pieces. Oy! Lot o work.

I painted a good deal of fellows in this pattern, and as much as i loved the infinity snake emblem, I never could come up with a good name for the Chapter

Lack of sleep inspired Chaplain for my Iron Hands sucessor Chapter, the Ebon Gauntlets.

I built him in a flurrry of activity last night. Very proud of him. The pics wash out the detailing on his face for some reason.

Converted medic I made last year. Quite happy on how he turned out.

He is quite the OTT apothecary. Nice job.

I particularly like the "servo-harness" of medical tools, especially the knife, looks like it's use-able in CC, too.
Oh and I reccommend using him as either a captian or sicarius. He's an ultra, and they already have calgar as chapter master. Siicarius has a power weapon and plasma pistol, and the rules suit the model most IMO. Use the same rules, but instead of a 15pt plasma pistol, have a 15pt storm shield!

This was my very first conversion, I feel bad that I sold him on eBay

Hi All, Here are some Death Guard Terminators that I have been working on. (work in prog).
Heaps of crazy stuff going on here with spikes busting through decayed / shot-up armor and the odd mutation here and there.
So far I have 5 of these guys that I have made using Chaos Terminator torsos and normal Space Marine Terminator legs / arms.

Painting is only in the very early stages.



These are the crazy looking heads that will go on the 5 x Terminators.

As soon as my models get to me i will post some pictures, but they are have a country away from me atm! And i love the chaos Terminators too!

Thanks Vandehey, I have positioned them in very hunched over type poses and majority of the weapons are pointing down. That combined with the detailed base work will hopefully give them the Death Guard / Nurgle type of look that I am aiming for. (The eventual squad of 10 x Death Guard Terminators should look fairly menacing).

My first two big conversions - atleast in my opinion haha. Two custom squad leaders for my custom chaper WIP - 'Iron Mongers'

These two are probably my favourite models...The master of the Recruits with 2 Bolt pistols was more difficult to Pin and GS together. I like the way his Sword is just ready when one of pistols runs dry he will grab the Chainsword.



The other is my chapter master, which is a basic GS Conversion of another miniature with a SW head. Its not finished but I love the Hard as nails pose with a giant Relic Blade.



I like them both equally, But I am working on some Pre-Heresy Statues at the moment and I think they will Trump this. Garviel Loken on a Ferocrete Column anyone?

sorry but i have to say fail on that conversion. nice work with the greenstuff though the fur looks good. but fail because the chestplate shows the Dark Angel logo. Dark Angels dont like the Space Puppies so its kinda ironic. But im sure that would have been kinda hard to cover with GS.

Warpetrie, My CHapter is vanilla, it is the Bear Claws. North American Indian based, i use some elements of DA and SW the Sword is the "Spear of Sicirus" It is the symbol of the Chapter master due to the Original Brother or Sicirus or Chief Bear Claw as he was known. So a Sword in his central breast plate is not neceassarily DA. The Fluff in my sig. Thanks for the feedback.

I never liked the idea of standard military force for IG, so I opted to make mine more of a prison themed set up. Thus the shotguns and riot shield. It's not much compared to some of the awesomeness found in this thread, but it's impressive enough to the local players at the local GW.

Also, 10 man squads with nothing but shotguns just sounds so much cooler than wimpy flashlights.

Also (x2) my (poor) attempt at cobblestone bases.

Converted my Scourges up using Warrior and Wych parts, Slannesh Seeker feet and Gargoyle wings. Really happy with how well its come out. When the squad is finished it will definitely be a centre piece.

yes it is, I even made a bolt action system of a very small piece off angled rod, which can be seen on the last pic, though its a little hard to see

My best conversion, Skulltaker on a chariot:







Cost me a Warhammer fantasy chariot, Skulltaker and a box of juggernaughts. My demon army is themed for a snoy-covered battlefield. You can see crushed barb wire under the juggernaughts feet, doesn't show too well in the photos but its there.

Dark Eldar Kabalite Warriors- Used the upper torso, arms and head.

Assembly was fairly straight forward. I did have to file the wing stubs to get them to fit to the backpacks and look natural.

I am using "Anime" blue scheme for my army. I left the Scourges a little darker then the rest of my army will be. It seemed to me they would need the cover in the skies of Commorragh.

I love those wings!

Gargoyle Wings are the cake when it comes to amazing looking wings! I love the absolute dark and sinister look along with the detail!

ALL OUT OF SPARE BITS!!! and still needed to be painted.

Unfortunately, I'm a lazy f**k and haven't found the time to get him painted yet.

Here is my best conversion. He is my first really, not including the 'ard boys I have which really only had armor stuck onto them.

I call him Straight Shoota. He is doing his best to actually shoot his target. His axe is strapped to his back, and is aiming with two hands. And he is using his guns sights too! Other Orks look on in disbelief.

Hahaha, that's nice! He looks like he's concentrating really hard - great choice of head, and good angling too. Never seen an ork posed like that before

I generally do not paint any model that is not a conversion (Yeah I'm a glutton for punishment and really slow at building stuff), But this one had to have been one of my favorites. I may redo this idea again with a little help from Kathie von Vhoorl's painting. I will take a little extra time to make the new one a little neater.

But using the Battlewagon Upgrade pack and a squad of Grots I made it into a drive-by shooting machine.





Complete with swearing Grot.

WHOA! You just gave me an idea for a cool deff rolla using that ram. Add a set of "jaws" under neath so it looks like its chomping. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.........

Anyone got any ideas for what I could use for a Venusaur? For Charizard and Blastoise I think I can effectively modify two daemon princes. But the third... Not sure how to get the flower on its back. Any suggestions?

If you're thinking what I'm thinking, wouldn't that be a little impractical? How can the rolla get to work crushing stuff up if there's a massive jaw blocking it?

thanks for the comments!!!!!!!! i assume your talking about the base on my demon prince? if so i just used a couple of pieces of slate I found whilst out walking one day and then just like gravel and stuff to get the smaller stones.

It really is fantastic work on the DP....I like to think with the unholy power of the warp the blunt force alone would rip thru power armour.

...I think I got the gist of that. If I'm right, hopefully this helps more than my (admittedly) brief earlier post. If not, then feel free to disregard it.


As far as I know (not much into Chaos, you see) the Rose of Slaanesh is basically a Greater Pleasure Daemon, one of the higher ups in the Slaaneshi heirarchy. She's something of a, well, a flower whore. I'm actually not even sure if she's an actual GW character. But the flower theme would fit with her in any case. Think vines, thornes, and razor-edged rose petals.


For actually sculpting the rose, start with dozens of petals of greenstuff, thin, small. Curl one up almost into a tube, then just continue layering them around it, overlapping each and making sure not to squish them together too much.

Lord Shag is one of (in my experience) very few peoplpe with the stones to convert a forgeworld model like that! Given how irritating to work with resin is, and the expense, most anyone I know would just paint the sucker as assembled!

Thank you for the compliment, but I have to come clean here. That's not a FW model, I just used the FW model for reference (I really liked the pose). The bike base is actually a Deffkopter, The front wheel is a bunch of green stuff and some leman russ tracks, back treads are more of the same and some tau pieces. The power claw is a big choppa at the end of the rotor mount for the deffkopta tied to his arm. The head (I think) is from fantasy orcs, the engine in the back is a broken clock motor I found. I think the front forks on the bike are from some huge tau gun. The rest is styrene sheet, a small mountain of green stuff, and a lot of time.

I wish I could take credit for those stones. I don't own any FW as of yet (can't justify it to myself at this point), but when I do, I promise to mangle it.

Now that's what I call awesome! Real orky method right there, especially with the deffkopta use. Just slapping a lot of random pieces together and making cool biker joe. Cool conversion, in that case

Actually, the fact that it's a good enough approximation of the FW design to fool the eye is even more impressive.

Its cork with GS for the tiles, with a bit of sculpting for Farsights logo

Attached you will find my best conversion. An Empire Giant. His brother, with a greatsword, is finished and is actually better as he involves some massive body position changes.

Sounds good. I like the ironclad dread with hammer and hurricane bolters, but if there were any blood raven dread I would have liked that one better prob

This is my 2nd favorite. I like how it looks like he's running. And this was taken before I cut the Imperial eagle off his helmet.

The Tau Cadre's design is based off of Zero from Mega Man X. The fire team leader's sword is a beam saber like Zero's Z Saber.

My attempt at a pre-heresy dreadnought came out better than expected considering all the cobbled together bitz he's made from.

I based it off of some of the HH CCG art work, the arms depicted there are pretty scrawny. Here's a wip pic, you can't see it in either pic, but I "wired" up both arms to "beef" them up.



I'm aware of the fallacy of having twin linked auto-cannons, this too is based on someones design sketches. I figured since I used two smaller ones from a landspeeder it wouldn't really matter.

Same here. I Used it on a FW Iron Warriors dread, AND on my Demon Prince conversion. Looks sexy.
