Ello my Friends,
Hope you are all well.
I am just back from a fantastic trip to Salute in London - it was great to meet so many of you and put a few faces to the names!
I am pleased to announce the long awaited release of the Tank Bike I am really chuffed with it and hope you guys enjoy it half as much as I do .
http://zinge.co.uk/index.php?route=product%2Fproduct&product_id=299
Here is a little preview for those that don't use Facebook
On a more personal note:
I am moving house over the next few weeks and my time will be spent dealing with that but fear not my good friend Gareth Watson will be taking on all casting, shipping and general admin duties. He is as good if not better than me at casting and he is certainly quicker at packing and shipping.
I will continue to release models as and when I can and pass them to Gareth for casting so hopefully the current service should improve but releases may be sporadic in the short term.
I can't wait as the new house has a room dedicated for Zinge HQ!
Cheers

Hi Everybody,
Sorry for the radio silence but as ever things at ZI are silly busy. As previously stated I am in the process of moving house. The new one is currently being rewired.
Gareth is doing a fine job of increasing stock levels, posting products quickly and reworking the site.
I am doing slightly less well with improving the photos on the site :(. On the plus side design work has continued and new products are being developed albeit slower than we would all like.
Pictures soon.

Just got another order in, quite happy again (mold alignment might have been better this time, but it's workable that flexiresin is a b***h to cut though)
Seems there was a spare bit thrown in, second from the right n this sprue: http://zinge.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&path=20_92&product_id=181
Can't imagine ever fitting that on a 28mm model, but it'll make a rather nifty 15mm cannon once I get around to it Shame they don't seem to be for sale separately though.

Sometimes you get little gems in with orders from zinge, always looking for spare scenery bits for necromunda.
The zinge sign was the casting overflow on some tires I ordered, a smaller one was on my computer monitors, I still have to paint that up for the actuall building I'm going to use. Nice to see zinge survive until the year 40k

@Bolognesus - Sorry for the late reply - What was the problem with the flexible resin? I normally cut the resin with a knife and the wire with clippers. If its the hand cannon then it fits ork boys well.

@Theo - Excellent use of the sprue

BARRRRRRRRRRRRRELS!
Frigging nifty idea having them hollow and "pose-able".
Two questions.
1. How many times will you be able to do that to the barrels before they lose their integrity and tear/fall apart/won't reform?
2. What was that song playing in the background? It sounds familiar but I can't place it.

Ha brilliant design your own destroyed barrels and with detachable lids you done it again kit ingenious who thought a simple barrel model could have so much potential
The rebars are pretty good ( yes I was lucky to get a sample ) be great for scenes and dioramas, also the thinner ones of the group would make great weapon staffs

Cheers Guys - will hopefully have these up on the site before Salute - got more in the works for Salute
Testing continues - but it might be bordering on abuse - that poor barrel has been through a lot.

My next big project is a job for those petrol heads amongst you. The new design(s) need to have an engine in them and whilst I have the V8 http://zinge.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&path=18_88&product_id=184 it is too big for the project and resizing it feels a bit of a cop out.
Does anyone have any requests for a particular Iconic engine or feature of the engine? Feel free to send me links and photos either on here or directly to zinge@hotmail.com.
I am after a car/buggy engine that will be about half the size of the V8 and I am after a motorcycle/chopper engine.
So if you have a burning desire to see a particular engine get Zinged let me know!

@ Git
@ Roy - stick em on the list but got other fish to fry!
@ Zogg n Monkeytroll - Barrels will be available at Salute (hopefully)
I am designing a model which has a large intricate bit (like a cage lots of bars).
A question:
Would you prefer:
A - 1 or 2 large bits which would have 2 mould lines on each bar (as normal) and also subject to the usual resin issues.
B - 18 pieces that have no mould lines just clip from the sprue and start gluing. Also likely to be cheaper.
C - Don't Care
n.b. B will allow easier conversions and customisation.
Cheers

Post by: OrlandotheTechnicoloured
it depends on how easy assembly of the 'loads of bits' will be
I'm happy enough to build if it's finger friendly (eg 28mm figure heads/weapons),
but if the bits are small enough to need tweezers to hold/position then no thanks

Please feel free to wish for any and all bits - Any that take my fancy will make it into th shop at some point.
I noticed in your electronics section you don't carry any resistors. An LED wired in series with a battery will burn out after a few hours. I'd suggest carrying 1K resistors in 10 packs to match your LEDs. (The best size to use to get the brightest output without damaging them depends on your LED specs but 1k is a safe choice).

Sorry to bug you about such little items, but I:m trying to buy hex bolts and mini gun port sets, 2 each, I can't pay as it simply says out of stock. DO I simply keep checking the site to check for updates? Can't see a backorder function...
Secondly, it's doesn't seem possible to order the bike tank machine guns, the site asks whether you want tracks or wheels...

Smaller hatches might be very useful as I might be making a submarine at some point though they would be useful for all sorts of things.
Yes, the new G W vehicle needs about eight nice big wheels to replace those unfortunate track units. A new stern door as well to replace the curiously round hatch and quite possibly a new turret as well.
I am looking forward to seeing the stand at Salute, even if I do not buy all sorts of unanticipatedly useful things there I can foresee an order following on in short order. There are always things you see and do not buy that work on your imagination that you have to buy later when you realise what you can do with them.

If possible I for one would love to see how the taurox looks on some of your track assemblies. Have been pondering getting some for that purpose, but I'm not 100% sure how it would look. Been thinking of a taurox on 4 of your short tracks, or 2 short and 2 long tracks, or 2 wheels and 2 long tracks.

If you did do the 27mm Military wheels without the hubcaps, but made them so that the hubcaps from the 27mm Off-road wheels fit, and made them the same width (approx. 13mm) as the Off-road wheels, I'd probably buy at least 20.

Hi guys - still playing catchup after Salute - whilst getting ready for holiday tomorrow .
@I-bounty-hunt-the-elderly Sorry for the late reply - Our current range of track units are either too small or too large. The only viable thing we do is the modular set which is probably a tad expensive. I will endeavor to create a suitable track unit when i get back from India.
@dsteingass - thanks for the plug
@Yodhrin - Hubless 27mm is in the works - print should be with me later today - but will have to wait until I return.

I'd prefer a wider tire to match the dimensions of your 27mm off-road tire and Spellcrow's tires (which conveniently match the look of GW's tires and with a bit of work will hold your large hubcaps). I think it fits the 'look' of 40K better and will be used in my PDF up-armoured tractor-trailers.

You need some kind of dozer blade, or at least something to part the crowd instead of just running them over.
If they were a tad smaller and you could fit two pairs at the back, they'd look even better, imo.

In the grim darkness of the far future their is only vehicular manslaughter.
But yah, has anyone done a 8x8 tire converstion with the smaller wheels yet? I feel that would look boss in all honesty.

Okay, I got work right away, cleaned the flash, as this flex resin does have it, but the cables and cable bundles work nicely and have good paintable details with the smooth and covered cables mixed in. they bend and flex well, and reminded me of my days playing as a child with major Mat Mason space figures, which were made of a abusable soft material with wires to bend the knees and elbows,
Okay, the Chainsaw Is now fully connected as the cables worked a charm at making that so. Here I used a bundle and 2 different single cables for the chain saw.
[/img]
[/img]
Now the claws on the 2nd mecha. I used more of the leftovers from the chainsaw and added in extras thin bundle and ball-armored chain cable.
[/img]
Bundled cables and armored cable
[/img]
[/img]
And I used a LOT of cables and bundles for the mega fist on the 3rd mecha

New vehicle looks interesting - I'll be watching this one. I also have to commend your shipping speed - my order arrived in about a week and a half, which is fantastic considering how long it usually takes to get things sent to the ass-end of the world that is Australia.

Still wondering what Zinge Industries thinks of my use of their cables?

Hello Everybody. Sorry for the delay in getting pics up and product on site but I am still working through the back log from holiday on top of a funeral of a close friend, parents 40th anniversary, charity festival planning (ask me about Glastonburrows), wedding planning (did I mention I got engaged in India?)
Anyhoo Gareth and the team are keeping things moving smoothly despite the huge increase in traffic and demand since Salute.
Hope to have more releases real soon.
Cheers
Kit
@shasolenzabi - The cabling on your fantastic monstrosity looks awesome - can't wait to see it painted.
@Sparkadia & BrookM - Thanks but shipping is down to Gareth and his missus!
@Lockark - I will sort out some pictures soonish
@Theophony - Mudflaps are being worked on
@Mathieu Raymond - Dozer blade like that made by puppets of war I believe.

Glad you're back safe and sound.
Commiserations for your loss, but many congratulations on your engagement.
Nice to hear Salute has given you a boost, didn't affect speed of dispatch for my orders - it's almost as though it runs smoothly without you there

Kit grats on popping the question, sorry to hear about your friend. The buggy looks great with loads of options on how you can build it

Post by: shasolenzabi
The one with the fist can also hold a normal mini if I want to, but the more cables is due to the complexity of hand controls re-routed for the big fist.
I can now paint the mechs due to the cables being their last major component I needed. for large bases for them, I may also have to order some of the warbakery scenic bases!

It has a bull bar, that's what it is for.

I like the buggy, except for the teeny tiny front wheels. Are the axles standard enough to allow wheel swaps?

Hey Kit, are those funky barrels from many pages back available for sale yet? Can't see them on the website and I'm not sure if i'm just being a blind bugger or not.

Naw man, it needs something more baroque than that. I'm thinking those pointed things, like on those old trains.

I thought he had left already so to Gareth cheers mate reformatted now I am lost
I was going to ask your cable sprue have you considered doing sprue's of one design ?
The other thing I was going to ask was have you considered doing a sprue of alternative ends for the cable plug\connectors sprue, you know like claws, drills, syringes, lights, flame torch anything along those lines.
One other thing is apoc gang weapon sprue, you know things like baseball bat metal and wood with nails, crow bar, wrench, metal bars these kind of things.

Just a follow up my order turned up this morning YES THIS MORNING and everything was of top quality as usual
Hatches are great and would work perfectly for IG, Orks even dare I say it SM the smaller one's will have many a great usage and the ball joint connectors will make some interesting Killa Kan conversions.
All the barrels and kegs are top notch, and the danger on the gas canisters is just great detail and the hollow barrels are going to be some fun times
Most of the rest is stuff that has been around for a while but all cast well and perfect detail, really impressed with the large nuts and bolts mix
Now to the added extra New remastered bandoliers the detail is brilliant and they are slightly flatter on one side so perfectly easy to fit to minis once I figure out how to get them of the card
Kit and Gareth great job all round guys from design to casting very impressed
O I almost forgot the new large human sized revolvers AWESOME !!! perfectly timed and answered what weapon to use on my inquisitor conversion

@ Roy - Your most welcome

'A head of steam' is the pressure required to start a steam engine moving. To 'build a head of steam' is an idiom meaning to gather energy in preparation for something.

A screw attached to some gears... I guess that's meant to move something up and down when the gears turn. Bit on the left looks like some shock absorbers...
Some kind of weapon platform?
