It is a 34mm, i have 16mm left over which i will try to join to another 16mm from my next grey knight to make a 32mm piece (so i can get 3 GKs out of 2 strips) but it might prove to be impossible

@ zinge, is there a way of making belts longer than 50mm?

That looks like most of a single belt which are approximately 50mm long.

The resin is flexible and has a shore hardness of around 60D (for those in the know) for aveage joes like me and you its a bit like Haribo (doesn't taste as good though) or cured green stuff.

Ah, excellent comparison. I think I may be in need of these in that case..my poor wallet

@cc88

How long would you want them? Any thing particular in mind?

Re:Zinge Industries - Bits Site - Modular Buggy Release and Salute 2015 Offer. @ 2011/04/06 07:01:47

Post by: cc88

100mm would be better as that way I can easily get 3 GKs out of 1 belt.

Also I have painted the GK that I made and will throw some pics up later.

EDIT:

Unfortunately I really don't like the basing so may buy some resin bases for my grey knights

Looking good there cc88

My molds have just started to fail so I need to make new ones.

I will certainly make longer small belts not sure if I can do 100mm.

Does anybody have any requests for belt types that I missed or changes they would like to see to current belts?

Any redesigns need to be done ASAP so I can carry on supplying.

Cheers

I would love it if you made a traditional claymore sword that would be to scale with a "bulkier" 28 mm model (space marines).

You would receive a lot of orders from me if you did that.

Shazzam!

Got some good and bad news:

Bad News:

Postage costs gone up

Material costs gone up

Good news:

Bought a vacuum pump - better casts less errors

Result:

Most items will stay the same price.

Pistols pictured below are now cheaper £4 a sprue of 10 or £0.45 each (nearly 20%)

Anyone who has bought pistols previously will get a little bonus if they reorder anything.

Cheers

How about this for a suggestion.
Ork Shoota Equivalents
Bulky and "heroic" looking.

Background:
With the release of AOBR and the plethora of slugga/choppa boyz in the box, they are quite plentiful and cheap on ebay and some of the discount sites.
People purchase whole 100 model hordes of them when they start playing WH. Then 6 months later, when they realize that:
1.) Ork Shooting is awesome
2.) WYSIWYG is generally enforced and preferred a lot of places.
They decide that they would love to glue shootas to the back of all their Ork boyz so that they can WYSIWYG either slugga OR shoota boyz when they play.

You make sprues of Ork style shootas then they should sell like crazy.
I myself would order a solid 50-60 of them.

Example.

Yeah, I really can't stand those for some reason.
And with only three styles.
And one of them literally makes your mini take up
twice as much space due to the lateral clip.
I think a second option would be grand.
I think Zinge pistols look so much better too.
Not to mention what his shoota could look like.

So the pistols from left to right (going off the top of my head) (from the top pic)-
USP
Uzi
hand flamer/inferno pistol
mauser C96
no idea (looks like a lower cal. version of the USP)
misc. SMG
Desert eagle
M1911
revolver
misc. SMG

things I want (sorry if you've said you're currently doing these WIP)-
walther MPL
flintlock
AA-12
crossbow (kind of a van-helsing one with a "clip")
needle pistol
ol' traditional laser pistol
scopes

Semi-automatic pistol (unsure of specifics)
Micro uzi

Mauser C96
unsure
Skorpion Vz. 61
Pepperbox pistol
Glock of some sort
Generic revolver
Walther MPL

They're looking great.

Some pistols of a vaguely old-fashioned steampunk/pirate look would nicely complement your current range.

And some shoota-compatible big guns would also be popular with orks - true orks like a variety of weapon looks, none of that namby-pamby bulk manufacturing for them

Can you make some Tau bits? Perhaps some form of Crisis Suit head swap or addition? Would love to see some Tau centric bits. Maybe some form of armor plating for the tanks, unit insignia type stuff, etc. Nothing too obvious, sure, but something useful none-the-less.

Also, some Dark Eldar stuff would be amazing. Not a lot out there right now, would love some bits to make Wracks with, such as heads swaps and or bits to add to warriors/wyches, etc.

I think the other thing I could argue against the Kromlech post-apok shootas, is that they are pretty generic.
Make a sprue of 10 that are rather Orky, and I bet you'll sell out.

Was going to email this, but decided it would be better for zinge for me to post it.

I ordered my stuff a week or so ago.
It took a little while to get to me, enough that I emailed him, his response was very quick and accurate.

the package arrived yesterday.
Not only did zinge include what I ordered, I got a baggy of extra, slightly miscast stuff that he probably should sell normally as a free bonus.
the parts are beyond good for the price, in the days of chapterhouse selling a single $20 backpack, the fact I can outfit nearly my entire grey knight army with belted ammo for 10 bucks is absurdly awesome.

Evenin All,

One of my pet hates when I am modelling is dropping a bit and watching it bounce off into the unknown, when it hits the ground. (so much time spent looking for bits - grrr)

So to counter that may I present the Crotch Guard (tm).

This heavy duty PVC apron catches dropped marine heads and orky shootas. It also catches shavings from mold line clean up when you are watching TV.

The clips fix to your belt or pants so it will stay in place and the pelican scoop at the bottom means your bits wont fall to the floor either when you stand up

Also gives my manhood half a chance should I drop my scalpel!

Technically, you can already a similar product from Micro-Mark - an apron that velcros to your desk. Looks like jewelers use them? anwyay.

The real reason I can to this thread was because I had an idea, and you seem to like hearing them. One thing I think would be easy to make, easy to cast, and would sell well would be rocket launchers. I'd start with a styrene tube, pack it in the middle somewhat, and add flip-up sights and possibly a grip. Possibly something like a LAW? You could also make a backpack full of rockers, and sell them as conversion kits to convert Ork Boyz into Tankbustas, maybe include a few rockets with handles on them. So far as I know, neither GWS nor FW nor any other conversion making studio currently makes such a kit, and would be a prime time since Tankbustas are very pricy now, with finecast. Don't make them too Orky, can also use them for SM scouts I imagine.

Or not, as you like. Just throwing it out there.

Also, pirate hats! Tricorn and otherwise.

Love those tiny cannon guns. I reckon you can't go wrong with pirate accessories - even though other 3rd party manufacturers do some, anyone wanting a whole pirate-themed army will be wanting as many variations as possible. Separate hats (designed so that the customer chops off the top of an ork's head to fit underneath the hat) are a good idea - mostly I've seen entire pirate heads with fixed hats, which gives less flexibility for swapping.

Hi Guys,

Bunch of updates:

Large Ammo Belts mold is a success (see below)

New sprue consits of 6 Belts at least 80mm long:

1. Large Shotgun Shells 5.5m long 2.5mm diameter

2. 'Y' shaped belt feed 4mm x 1.9mm

3. Linked Block feed 4mm x 2.2mm

4. Small Shotgun Shells 4mm x 1.8mm

5. Small Bullets 4.5mm x 1.6mm

6. Large Bullets 5.5mm x 2.1mm

Belts have much sharper detail - which means I will be remodeling a couple of projects.

Better pictures when I have samples painted.

Price will be £6 for the set or £1.20 each.

I am off on holiday on Friday for 2 weeks so hopefully will update webstore before then.

Cheers

Kit

did the enourmously loud sound of bulletfire get to the grot's sensitive ears, causing it's head to explode?

Cool stuff, finally got the items sent on via the UK thanks for the extra bits, very useful for objective markers (stuff to loot). The wheels and the rifle are neat, definitely up for more of those, what did you do to make the ork carry the m16? (Don't have my boyz to hand to see how the default arms are posed)

Now, those micro switches I'd LOVE to see... I never did get a good solution for my own "light-up" Thousand Sons aside from popping the battery in and out of the battery clip. Not that I'm likely to go back and re-convert/base the whole army, but it'd be interesting to see what other options folks come up with.

Nice. For my own LED-equipped Thousand Sons, I ended up using a clip mount like these:

http://shopping.microbattery.com/Part-BH-2032-CH28-Lithium-2032-Battery-Holder-Horizontal-Clip-Mount-28mm

I had Big John of Gale Force 9 (before they made it "big" ) custom cut me some bases out of wood that could hold the clip. I'm guessing you could get something better from some place like Shapeways now as the sides are straight and not beveled. The clip did mean that my bases ended up being closer to 32mm across and significantly taller than "normal" bases. But they do allow you to swap the batteries out easily.

But they didn't leave a lot of room for a switch. So for mine, it's "Battery in, lights on..."

This is all bringing back some memories... I haven't thought about the mechanics of the LED-equipped Thousand Sons for quite a few years now...

Valete,

JohnS

Okay time for a bit of good news bad news good news

Good news

Small ammo belts mold works well and they wil be up on the store soon (See below for details)

Bad news

The small shot gun shells have the mold line in the wrong place and thus are not up to spec

Good news

I will not charge for the shotgun shells as part of the sprue (a little bonus that could be a pain to clean up.)

Detaiils:

Belt 1: Linked block 75mm x 3.2mm x 1.4mm

Belt 2: Tiny enclosed bullets 75mm x 2.5mm x 1.4mm

Belt 3: Small enclosed bullets 75mm x 3mm x 1.9mm

Belt 4: Small shotgun Shells 75mm x 2.9mm x 1.2mm

Belt 5: Double exposed bullets belt 75mm x 2.5mm x 1.8mm

I'm still new to the hobby, just finished my previous model and I got inspired for my next model. But for it, I need a lot of ammo!

I was dreading having to model all of it by green stuff and it was hard to find online (I couldn't just type "I need belts of ammo!" in to google of course) but after some searching I found this thread and visited your store. I like the setup and I liked a lot of the other things on the store there so I figured I'd grab a few of the cool things laying around as well, I'm sure I'll find a use for them eventually. Then I remembered how poor I am and how much money the GW models cost so I had to tone it back a bit

I am just about to place an order of, 5 large ammo belts, 5 small ammo belts, and one full sprue of the power cabling (Damn the weak USD). I'll make another post once I receive them. Its the little details like exposed cabling and these ammo belts that really bring a unique feel to a mini.

Previously used some fans/grills on my scratch built landing platform.

Just bought a flexible ammo belt to stick on my attack bike's heavy bolter. Really looks much more dangerous now than the basic HB model, much more in keeping with the old metal tac model.

Hi Guys,

New molds are pretty good - couple of tweaks needed.

First up are the AK47s in Large mutant scale and human size.

and a set of Ammo Boxes/Drums suitable for a range of weapons.

See below for some pics on some popular guns.

I've got a question for you, Kit. Are you still doing vinyl decals?

Are they transparent, or do you do colours, monochrome, etc. ?

I'm creating a Gorkamorka mob using the Outlaw Motorcycle Club rules and lack the skills to paint logos repeatedly. Currently I don't have a logo but I've got a cunning plan and can get the art created. Before I do that I'd like to know how these things work so I know what to ask for. I'll be ordering some stuff from you as soon as the AKs are on your shop

@ Flamekebab - Vinyl Decals are still available see p18 of this thread for a quick step by step. Not sure what you mean by transparent or colour in this context. email me your ideas to discuss.

In the picture of the drums, what is the name of the one all the way on the left (The round drum that replace the regular magazine on a bolter)?

So when ordering that one, I would select #2, right?

And that price is a for a single piece?

Also, what # is the round drum built for a Storm Bolter? (The second from the left in the picture)

And... when will they be in stock?

Thanks!

I'm very pleased with the big AKs and M4s I ordered. The smaller AKs seem a little tinier than I expected though, even in the hands of grots. Oh well, I'm sure I'll eventually find a good home for them.

Do you think those Bolter drums would look good on IG Heavy stubbers and Heavy Bolters?
I seriously don't use H. Bolters ATM, but in the future i might.

@ Flamekebab - Small AKs are more human size than grot (might do some more)

@alarmingrick Will have a play tonight and put some pictures up.

Also got some grey knights in for sizing pics.

I am getteing requests for 28mm (Trukk and waggon) sized wheels similar to the 19mm any intrest?

Can't hang round here all day chatting gotta make tracks.

That pun was painful, Kit!

The small AKs look fine in the hands of WargamesFactory models but look kinda puny in the hands of Cadians.

Depending on price I'd be interested in larger wheels.

Edit: by the way, do you 3D print your products and then mould them?

To copy-paste the review I put on the Zinge site yesterday: "I ordered a trio of heavy Mauser blasters a.k.a. the Han Solo pistols, both for my Rogue Trader character and any future conversion work in mind. The pistols require some cleaning up that's common with resin bits, namely removal of flash, vents and tabs, but nothing severe or uncommon if you've worked with resin before. Cleaning aside the casts are of an excellent quality with no bent barrels and quite made of a sturdy material that doesn't bend easily or break when handled poorly. All in all good quality and I will most certainly make future purchases here!"

Seriously guys, if you like the stuff you get, don't forget to post up a review on the site itself!

Expect previews of the next kit shortly

Also off on Monday up to Scotland for a week long wildcamping canoe trip on the Spey. So I will not be sending orders out for that week.

Ooh, a combination of both would be suitably Ad-Mech and useless, just the way the Imperium likes its ships.
