3D CAD - Printed and then cast in the drawing room with the lead pipe - but you will never catch me muwaHAHAHAHAHA

Now see if you can work this one out - I have changed the resin to confound you! (or I ran out)

Could always use more Klaws.
You are having a blast with that printer aren't you?
Alright, here is a REAL challenge.
Come up with a set of replacement Ork heads.
I'm not talking about Russian or German or some other WW1 or WW2 themed heads, I'm talking about ORK themed heads.
Such as...
Ork head screaming WAAAGH!
Ork head with the speed freek grin and flapping jowls.
Ork head with severe scaring/stitches.
Ork head with nice welders goggles.
The GW heads have a bit of character, but there is so much to be desired in the MOST expressive race in the game.

I know you are leaning mostly towards mechanical bits, and I understand they are easier to render, but man, do Orks need new expressive head options.

Ok, Ok, I'll admit that almost every shop under the sun has tonnes of Ork bits, but really, the reason is, everyone looooovvvees customizing their Orks.
With that said, you have to admit, all the replacement heads are "gimmick" heads.
I just want, at the very least, some sculptor to release a few "WAAAGH!" screaming variations.
The one that puppets war did for his Ork plane is a great example of what I'm looking for, but sadly, he's not selling them as single bits.

Ola Dakkaites,

I have been asked to Zingify this beauty.

I quite like the idea and can envisage a Grot tank/Ork warbike eben Nob war bike type affair.

It would certainly be scrappy and ramshackle so Imperial rough riders wouldn't work that well.

This is just to guage intrest - pen has hit paper but seeing as How I draw like a 4 year old I don't really want to post sketches yet

lol... shouldn´t be too hard... the AV7 tank is a very basic shape...so i don´t expect any hardships in the making... also there are templates out there...even in 15mm scale which would make this thingy quite in scale then to a bike in 28mm scale...

DO IT!!

Dont know if it would sell.. but do it anyway dammit!

Make options so it can be used as a warbike or as a grot tank, or even two of them pulling a "chariot" to make a truck..

3D print the parts you have to, but the body just needs to be thrown together with plasticard, use soldering iron to make realistic "wealed" joints between the plates etc etc.

But dont do any of this untill you've helped me out with my mech projects ;p

Damn it, I only placed my first order a month ago and you're already coming out with more cool stuff? My wallet hates you (but my minis love you!)

You know, you might want to look into doing wings. With the resin-cast-around-wire method you use and the soft resin they'd be very poseable

(I'm not just saying that because I have a daemon prince in need of some huge mechanical wings, not at all )

Hum...well, have fun building it, but I'm not sure it would sell a lot.
The Ork bikes from GW are some of their best Ork models, and kustomizing them is a breeze, so it might not be the BEST niche to try and serve.
Either way, it will be a blast to see what it looks like.

Better yet, build it as a buggie, not a bike, and I'd buy 3 off the bat.

Re:Zinge Industries - Bits Site - Modular Buggy Release and Salute 2015 Offer. @ 2012/02/02 19:27:55

Post by: Anvils Hammer

Good point.. it would work really well as a buggy with a ork "dust bin" style turret on the front.

Turret and weapons as separate peices.

Youd just have to make it a bit bigger and bulkier so it can convincingly be a buggy not a bike!

Ok how about you make this in kit form with the side's separate then build a larger top front and back sections and a smaller set, this way you can have it as a buggy or a bike that way every ones happy……. as I really want these as bikes.

Wow Kit, great new stuff! these last resin goodies to spew forth from you are excellent! I will be needing a few pistons and maybe an engine to use for terrain as well as some ammo belts to fill some ammo boxes with for object markers, i'll keep my eyes peeled for when they're available.

as i've just delved into terrain now, i've bought some GW imperial sector box sets, but am hoping to put the seed in your mind of a couple of things i've noticed crop up amongst a lot of terrain building threads out there, perhaps you could produce a compatible modular floor panel that can be utilized to add extra levels (they NEVER have enough floors), something that can be made in straight sections and added to make right angles? doesn't even need to be fancy, I for one would buy a fair amount myself! the other thing isn't probably that interesting is metal girders or beams to use under the flooring sections and in rubble piles, could/would also be great for orkish forts and the like, even stompa's? again i'd have to buy quite a few, along with numerous hatches and doors from you!

Thanks for doing such nice work! hope to hear what you think soon!

WOW, All I can say is great stuff, definitely feel a purchase coming on strong here...

Question - made a quick smash through the thread and noticed some KILLER vinyl decals, but none are up for sale right now. Is that just something you make runs of when you can or? I'd LOVE to order some, ermm, "Techno Vampire," decals, cough, if that could be possible in the future. Like the ones that fit on the transport vehicle, and ones that can fit on shoulder pads if that could be a possible reality. Wow, they are so great!

Oddly enough I was thinking about floor sections last night and thinking that it would be easy to talk to Warbases (for example) and get something cut. For floor sections for Cities of Death or anything else laser cut MDF might be the way to go. The same method and material used to create layers could probably produce something compatible with CoD but more generically useful.

So the floor sections could be on a standard grid and either composed of separate panels that can be laid over, for lack of a better name, joists, or in larger pieces. The difficulty is I suppose that it is difficult to do damaged sections as MDF would snap rather than bend unlike metal (what you are trying to emulate) or plastic.

My order turned up today, awesome stuff detail is fantastic, potential for the parts are endless really happy GREAT JOB !!!! Kit

Just a shot of some of my stash with a normal Ork boy and a guard of description

Cant tell you how great the hatches are they are so cool

But my most favourites have to be the power fists Ork and human, the detail is tops and the Ork claws are just stunning

The new pistols are great detail but large, they look good once you cut to fit ( after all they are for Orks ) but I would like some smaller versions for the lesser Orks

Over all great stuff the mags are nice way to alter your AK'S and M4'S, the double round mag is cool looking and gives a nice touch to all races.

The engine is a beast and have to say it fits together so well, you can just clip it together and it strays in place the pistons are cool looking and great for conversions and such

OK, How the heck did you get that engine?!?! I have been waiting patiently for it to show up on the store!

Or is it just an "in country" thing at the moment? Grrrr. If they are special order, I want to specially order one!

I have this little Toy truck on my desk that looks like an old Modle "T" Ford just waiting to have this engine added to it! It will of course be way too big for the toy, but that is part of the fun!

Hopefully I'm getting the larger uzis pictured before, the compact one looks a mm or two too short, I feel. Perhaps if the height was reduced a smidge?

Either way I'm excited about the parts I ordered. The wheels will mean I can put together the greens for my new kit. Exciting stuff.

It will mean I have to butcher one of my Spores of Anarchy though as his crappy slugga is being replaced by one of your awesome Ork-scale Glocks. It shall be sweet, uh, I hope. Assuming I don't bungle it!

You know, just for the helluva it, I'll throw in that I would love to see a sprue of optics - a couple of scope designs, maybe some Holos, that kind of thing.

In an ideal world, there'd be a standard low silhouette sniping scope, an IRNV type, a traditional hunting scope, an ACOG and then 2-3 Holo/Reflex type sights.

Stuff looks great, and I'm sorry if I'm being rude by not reading the prior 35 pages, but I'm looking for power cables like those that come with the FW Warhound Titan, I see you have resin ones that look similar, can you do, or do you know where I can get the rubber ones that don't need to be molded into a position?

The arsenal of weapons is quiet impressive. Do you have any examples of the fire with LED painted and lit up?

Nice, that lighted Daemon is sweet! And that belt on the dread looks pretty awesome.

Here are the conduit and power cabling on a Titan, since you do lighting as well... My intention is to run wire in the cabling to a male end that will plug into the Titan female end so I can possibly light my weapons. The flexibility will allow for weapon posing while maintaining power.

zinge! I loved those fists...when I thought they were for the Tau. They're still great, but if you sculpted a slightly larger version with four fingers and a socket to mate with the FW crisis suit elbow joints I would buy at least six sprues. Up until now I've have to steal fingers off of GW power fists so if you decide there isn't a big enough market I guess I could buy your power fists and just keep converting...it would be nice to have purpose-built Tau hands though.

Has anyone else heard of these rivet makers made by a Mexican company Greif? You soften a plastic tree with a lighter and press the plastic into the metal Greif plate. Impossible to find but really useful. I have a couple (I'll take photos if anyone is interested), been looking for a flat rivet maker, have to contend with this.

The punch and plasticard method is fine so long as you merely need undetailed flat rivets that aren't too small. But I'm definitely interested in whatever is up Zinge's sleeves (metaphorically speaking).

They're pretty tiny, you can't change or select size, they all come out around 1mm (craft punch from Walmart or Michaels).

Below are the rivet makers I was talking about, you can see how sickly small you can make them (how about 1/32"?). And I was wrong, I have the flat, round and square, I was looking for the hex... Hex bolts are preferred for Ork in my opinion.

Great point, I didn't mean to Hijack the place!

Yes, you just heat up some plastic with a lighter, press it into it. It is some small and dries instantly, you then just chisel it off with a hobby blade.

For me the big advantage of the Greif tool (I'd love one) would be that the resulting rivets are polystyrene - I've had nothing but tears trying to glue on teeny weeny resin/metal bits.

Zinge, I hope your top secret idea gets around that problem in some way...

I don't know, haven't needed to produce rivets recently. I do remember that the smaller you make them, the more difficult it is to get a clean cut. I wouldn't say it's much more difficult when you're already building something like a Thunderhawk. Obviously a punch will always trump something like this in terms of speed.

My favorite way of producing rivets has always been thin, evenly rolled sheet of cured green stuff + metal tipped mechanical pencils. You can go from 0.3 - 0.9 mm, just punch, and click the rivet out. Perfect circles, varying tiny sizes, and quick (as rivet making goes).

Mind you, if you want something other than a circle...

Because printers are so cheap now, I've bought used printers at drive by yard sales for $3.00 and than smashed it to bits to get the gears and misc other potential bits. But those look superb, far less work to get!

Those cogs are really a cool idea zinge, and beautifully executed too... will have to get me some of those.

@Mr Dog - No grand plan for these but will probably add to the range as my projects that require them progress

@Jabbakahut - I find cogs from everyday products a bit lacking in detail and often made of nylon and other plastics that don't like paint too much.

@Gitsplitta - Fanks!

Zinge -

Are you looking to make more track designs in the future? The reason I ask is I am using 1/48 scale models for proxy miniatures in some of my games, but you only get rubber treads with them. Any chance of you in the future making tracks that about 1.15cm wide (I think this is compatible with the Leman Russ) for sale? Modern looking ones would be excellent.

I have no other idea how to accomplish what I need, as the Leman Russ tracks have little protrusions on the side of the tread, and I need ones which are open like modern day tracks, with a guide in the centre.

Just wondering. And I will be definitely buying your doors, they are perfect.

More track designs - they are on a the list - the list is ridiculous in more ways than long but if inspiration strikes it gets made - If it works it goes on sale.

Yeah, good point with the paint (nylon parts), I often oversight that when I get into the build.

Zinge ol' buddy!
Yesterday, I used some of your stuff on my Brother Vinni's Fallout miniatures

Flexible Ammo Belts

Chinese Assault Rifle

And I must say, they look GREAT!

But look at the Super Mutant's forearm of the hand holding the nail board...
Do you think you can use the same wizardry as the ammo belts to make a flexible resin chain about that size?
The links are 1mm long, and .5mm wide
I would think that would be a big seller!

I was just about to say a shameless self plug there Dave, however total save with that idea and I would be on board for a few sets maybe a sprue of varying sizes would be cool

i think that chain idea is pure genius dave! and something someone should have done ages ago... i bet there will be a huge demand throughout the scene...!!!

that and maybe string? you know like in gallows and such things...?

@ Dave - they look awesome - thanks for sharing.

As for chain what about this:

http://zinge.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&path=17_71&product_id=113

I admittedly have a few issyes with it (too small to get full mould penetration)

But what is wrong with normal modelling chain?

the china looks very good kit... but the benefit of a casted chain is in my opinion in the one part against many part thing...

or just me and my lack of glue-fu to cope with real chains^^

Yeah, I've always used old cheap necklace chains, but they usually have the link shape all wrong for towing/lifting chains. Who makes this proper modelling chain?

Kit, what is wrong with your chain design? I need to order some hatch doors from you anyways. How big would the chain need to be to get proper mold penetration?

Dammit Kit.

and I JUST placed an order with you.

Git

although on a slightly more serious note, aren't they a tad similar to the Maxmini Ones? I know it's bad form to compare products in news threads, and I'm not suggesting any copying of any kind (both drawn from the same source material, after all), but to my eye the maxmini ones just look more detailed (although having bought from you a couple of times before, I imagine yours will be cheaper)

First dam those pistols are way better than they looked in the early pictures

Now the third pistol makes more sense and will work perfectly with my Pirate orks ( and maybe my grots ) mini hand cannon literally

I like the mini gun although I would field this one with my orks rather than the guard (sorry have a load of the maxmini ones for that ) but I still like it.

Kit at this rate I am going to have to start working overtime or at least not leave work early

Hell it will be worth it in the long run

at kit...yes this is doing it for me just right^^

and now to put some quantity to the quality...? what will you charge for the minigun? i see lots of potential for this...by the way...since it fits so neatly to your own belts...how a bout a package price for a combinded product?
