Ola,

Attached are some pics of some freshly moulded bits.

I tried to preserve the vents, gates and flash.

The largest wheel is 32mm and smallest 11.5mm

There are 29 links in the assembly shown.

A set would consist of 2 large wheels, 2 medium wheels. 2 bogies and 80 links.

Bits will also be available seperately and later as sets of X number of wheels etc

Anymore info please just yell!

An idea for you. Perhaps rather than having your vinyl stickers available in custom patterns only, you could have a few standards. Things like sergeant and officer rank for IG, arrows for troops, skulls with wreaths for HQ, chaos symbols for heretics. Things that don't infringe on IP but are commonly used. Just something to be considered.

@noneoftheabove0 - Thats probably what I need to do - good idea.

This is a good idea great for IG troops with general use icons ( like you said no IP issues ) the raised look for a more detailed look on miniatures would bring a new depth, I would buy these then.

I'm waiting for Defiance Game's USMC models to drop so I can start an IG army. If you haven't made some sergeant rank by then, expect an order from me. I've been trying to free hand simple symbols on my Space Wolves because I hate the transfers so much, but my free hand work looks somewhat worse. I could only imagine trying to draw out three chevrons, three rockers with a diamond in the middle. *shudder*

Ok then lets start a wish list for a generic IG or other Scifi trooper insignia.

It cant be too detailed as the cutter cant handle really fine organic detail.

Sergeant stripes should'nt be a problem.

Also need an idea of size of the bits (where would you put it?)

Cheers

definatly either should pads or if that would be possible on the sleeves...o the chest i think it would be far too tine as the IG chest could be then decorated easier with a slab of GS ...

as for what signs... private
sarge

and some officer markings...all done in the ^ fashion i think...

Re:Zinge Industries - Bits Site - Modular Buggy Release and Salute 2015 Offer. @ 2011/10/10 19:37:55

Post by: noneoftheabove0

For something that would fit most armies, a single chevron for a private, three chevrons for a sergeant, some railroad tracks for a captain, maybe a star for generals and higher commanders, probably the standard one through ten in roman numerals to indicate squads. Oh, if you make an arabic numeral set in a scale small enough that two or three of them would fit on a Cadian shoulder pad, it would probably be a huge bonus for most. Like I said, I'll be working with different models, so it may not work for me, but if you base the squad numbers off Cadian shoulder pads, you can't go wrong. The rank would probably be best on a Cadian sleeve, chest, or shoulderpad.

Pretty much covered all the aspects rank insignias, roman numerals, skulls basic shape like the transfers you can get numbers would not go a miss either, medical insignia (may be a couple of designs ) flame insignia that kind of thing all to fit shoulder pad of IG

All right looks like we have the makings of a nice set of markings - will start some scribbles.

Finally sorted a price for the tank tracks.

For a pair of tracks (Twice what is pictured below) the cost will be £19 (which automatically includes free postage worldwide at the moment)

I am now in urgent need of some good photos of these tracks both painted and not.

If anybody feels they could provide this service for this product I will atleast refund the cost of the product (exceptional quality may require further recompense). If you are intrested in this deal please pm me and we can talk specifics.

Those tracks do look nice but I have to say £19.00 that is quite expensive for a set of tracks don't get me wrong I can understand that there is your out lay production costs and all, however I think that would be a stretch of funds I was hoping they were going to be less than that. Have you got a picture for size comparison say with a miniature so we can have an idea of scale maybe that would help.

Dont get me wrong I do understand that there is a lot of work involved and pieces I just thought the price was a bit on the high side but I do think it is a nice kit and I am sure it will sell just for me it was on the costly side.

I do think if you can give a size comparison picture it might help to see if it will be worth the investment of what I was hoping to use it for.

I do love your work and have been happy with what I have had but I will always be honest with what I think but do not wish to offend.

I had an idea for you. It seems your ammo belts are pretty flexible, so how about vines?

Doing some thin vines like Ivy or some kudzu/creepers would be great for doing more senic bases. I have yet to find something that looks very good and making them myself is very intensive.

Yes I know, but the only thing that sticks to the unholy plastic they use is hot glue! Resin would hold better I think.

Some vines of some description could be rather handy, although I'm curious whether it'd be a good idea to do some as vinyl decals as well to provide a bit more depth to things.

Re:Zinge Industries - Bits Site - Modular Buggy Release and Salute 2015 Offer. @ 2011/10/13 18:12:33

Post by: vitki

Yeah, the vinyl decals might work ok for making things like cammo netting or up the sides of buildings.

I don't think the decals would be 3D enough to add to bases or things like that though.

could you not also offer a single peice track unit? Obviously you would lose the separate triangle peice in the middle, but you could sell a one peice track bit for a much lower price, and less clean up/assembly for the purchaser as well!-

i think the germans still haven´t learned an essential lesson... and that i see a world that is coming to to think that rascists believe are to be covered in certain stupid ideas... some politics try to sooth them idiots by giving them small bitz of what they ask for and if you give them one finger they soon have them by their throats and we could then all be in a big war again... i know it sounds pretty dark and zomby nazi stuff here but sometimes when you see news about what has caused some fights in the streets or when you see nazis march on protests and see them get protection by the police for the sake of the democracy then you might catch the wrong ideas about the system i am living in... and you might even go so far as to stretch that cap america metaphor and think about a shadowy figure like red skull that is pulling some awful strings in the dark...you can´t really think for real that an ugly shrew like our chancellor is actually ruling this overpopulated country? i mean we are talking about the conservative germany here....

Well, IMO the greed just makes people poor, and when people are poor, crime rises, and soon people become uncivilized and grasp onto leaders and ideas. Generally because they are too afraid to think for themselves. It is easier to jump on a bandwagon, security in numbers.

I think we all need to take a step back and look over our own histories to realise that many monstrosities have been committed by all nations some just newer than others some even to date, true we should not forget but we must try and learn from them and not allow them to be repeated. Never under estimate the power of a minority to corrupt the views of the majority as well as never tarnish all with the same brush take people for who they are and not what you perceive them to be. Well rant out of the way great stuff zinge lets bring the world together in a happy model making bliss mind you I have to say the Germans had way cooler looking stuff in the war than us and my Orks would not look half as good without that influence sorry but true ………...

Call me stupid but do you mean you are going to convert this bikes tires ? I was just wondering have you considered sculpting up some realistic looking bike tires ?. Its just I want to scratch build some bikes for my guard but there are no decent tires out their that would work some thinner more realistic ones would be good or a set of variety types like you would get for different kind of bikes. Its just the market does not really cater for this I would like to make some choppers for necromunda gangs and some for orks but there is nothing really out their maybe you could help out here.

So any input on diameters - widths and styles of tyres - not too bothered about PSI though

Re:Zinge Industries - Bits Site - Modular Buggy Release and Salute 2015 Offer. @ 2011/10/20 11:28:38

Post by: dsteingass

Exactly half as wide as these, same diameter. Not too much tread, as it wouldn't make any sense at all to put off-road tires on a street bike.

If I made thinner tyres would you need mud guards etc or cut down the existing?
Or would you want them intergral?

Re:Zinge Industries - Bits Site - Modular Buggy Release and Salute 2015 Offer. @ 2011/10/20 15:15:24

Post by: RSJake

I think if you made thinner tires, you should make compatible mud guards. Or if they are for choppers, you don't really need mud guards I guess. But some might want the mud guards, so I say it's worth a shot.

I just want some alternative "realistic" looking tires did not really think about the diameter to be honest as I was thinking of scratch building rather than using on existing models. As people have all ready mentioned is the kind of thing but I was hoping for some to work with IG and some for orks Without metal plates riveted all over them more along the forge world ork bike upgrade set. I guess ork wise I was looking at chopper style wheels larger in size but thiner in width some large back wheels with some decent tread pattern maybe some to build trikes with as well, IG wise all terrain wheels and road bike wheels keeping to the scale of IG not space marine bloated scale.

I second the plea for tires/wheels for use with our toys. I would love to see something in at least two sizes. A standard size wheel and an over-sized one as well. As for images for inspiration please refer to this image search link. Most anything here would be good. Basically any deep tread designed for off road work would be good.

I got my order quite a while ago, but I was gone, so I didn't get to do anything with them for a while.
I got 10 of the small AK-47's:

Someone had menthioned either here, or in a review that the guns are a on the small side. Well, that is true, they are smaller in length than the IG las guns. But if you add a bit of plastic rod to the business end, and either a wire or wooden butt stock to the other end, like so:

You get a gun that is the same size as an IG weapon. As seen here: (GW mini shown for scale purposes only)

I am very happy with them, and will be converting all of them in a similar fashion. Some with wire stocks and some with a wooden or composite stock.

I got lots more stuff too, but I haven't gotten around to using them yet.

Thanks Zinge!

Emailed Kit Yesterday and asked about stock, and he got back to me in under an hour, On a Sunday!

The stock levels were updated for the store, so if you wanted anything, buy away!

I think I bought all the little Grills and Fans though , well most of them.

Hi Guys and Gals!

Any intrest in an extreme form of blu tack? I have found a putty that is stronger and stickier.

Great for trial posing models. I found blu tack stuck better to me than the model. (also reusable)

Let me me know if I should stock it?

Cheers

Calm down dear!

How about a really crap hair dryer?

Not for drying your hair (coz its crap) but for drying paint and weathering powders. Its small compact and wont melt your models or too powerful that it blows the paints and washes around.

I would like to see tank track wheels bigger than your current wheel size. Also various versions (like 8 or so)

Bare ork heads. Everybody is making nazi, command pirate and mexicano ork heads but nobody has bare ork heads (no helmet, no hair)

Bare ork torsos. I saw one set but that was really poor quality. Also open jacket (like that biker ork torso) torso would be cool.

Skulls, you can never have enough skulls. And I'm not talking about a set of 5 skulls more like something you start measuring in weight isntead of amount.

I'd like to see some firing slits -- a bit like the armoured vision slits on rhinos, but a little bigger, for putting on fortifications or counts-as-Chimeras. I started converting some cardboard packaging into a bunker using one of your doors, and now I need firing slits too...

Here's a firing slit, though they're often a lot simpler than this:

http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Salpa_line_bunker_326_machine_gun_firing_slit.jpg

What I'd want, ideally, is something like the standard dreadnaught vision slit -- so a rectangular slit, with a rectangular frame, with rivets -- in a variety of sizes.

I might just make my own simpler ones out of plasticard though...

Those tyres are great. If you're looking for ideas, I'd also like to see narrower tyres - they'd be particularly suitable for trailers and gun carriages, and of course civilian vehicles, including motorbikes. Fat tyres look great on ork artillery, but not so much for other races...

My order turned up today all looks pretty good will try some bits out the wheels look great nice job on those and the small weapons are crisp they look even better here.

Thanks for the samples they will come in handy that black tac stuff is like a cross between blutack and a putty works well mind and yes it is better, although I thought for a minute you sent me an unwrapped black jack I thought the Christmas pressure had got to you.

I have to say the grey resin looks better than the old cream colour plus you can see the detail better overall very happy will be back soon for some more stuff

Great news!

Yes the new pistols have been tidied up and are slightly crisper - Awesome that you noticed.

Thats why most companies use grey - who would have thunk it?

The black tac needs working between fingers for a few minutes for full strength. Its ready when its hard to get off your fingers.

Let me know how you get on.

Cheers

I want some of those bulkhead lights for my grot ship they will fit in nicely I don't mind if they are in standard resin as i will be painting mine anyway but they look just right, have you considered doing longer versions of the bulkheads so the middle is stretched so you get more a rectangle shape with curved ends version.

My order arrived safe and sound this morning. ...The guns are lovely (revolver is just perfect) and the 1mm wire wrapped cable should be on every 40k converters desk! Ladders and resin cables are going to be useful for Inq and Necro terrain. I now need to build a model on a 40mm base so I can use the fans...I knew I should have gone for a smaller size when I ordered

Wish I'd made that gun order back in April like I originally planned.

Thank

Was it worth it?

Had a great day - the guys were really good fun and I now can produce tanks that I am happy with and much quicker. (see below)

Personally I think it was a bargain but there were some guys there who seemed to struggle.

I got a lot out of it and I went to the walkers one - not as useful, bit of repetition but still very useful - will be using the techniques on my Deamon Prince in my plog.

It was about £100 and you get dinner, a hellhound tank, set of brushes, some weathering powders and they lend you all the other gear you need.

The day is 10 til 6

The hellhound is built and primed and is treated as a canvas for the day. Lots of different techniques are tried on diffrent areas so at the end of the day it looks a mess but becomes a reference and trial piece.

The Baal I did afterwards with some of the learned techniques.

The starwars prop team seem to buy any old gun and stick a new muzzel on it - instant scifi!

So over all good day out and I suppose when you add in everything to the total it's not that bad of a deal …….

Yes the star wars prop team did seem to favour reworking existing weapons in the simplest way but I think that is the charm.

Glad ti hear you are going into production of the Dread ammo boxes make great vent for my grot tank and mega tank scratch builds so will need more and you need to build some dials, gauges, control panels and leavers that kind of converters heaven

I guess these are the Orky versions of Pistols in the range or are weapons you have created all ready

I gather you are making the Jawa gun then I will have a look for a few pictures of inspiration

These are for Orks - sorry large mutants......

I was farting around and made a Mauser Pattern Laspistol, but I will order your Mausers and add my flash suppressors ok? You've done an awesome job on those

If you could manage a nice Orky Beretta 92f, that'd be quite cool.

I quite like Orky weapons that are based on real world ones. The glock one sounds particularly good as I could then give my Ork Outlaw MC's VP the correct weapon rather than a generic slugga.

By the way, dsteingass, I'm impressed by your mauser design.

Yes I know what you mean but I feel they still need to look like they belong so they need to be orkafied or at least look that way before.

Hey any chance of a picture for those doors Got my order once again great stuff all complete plus a few extras "always appreciated" was wondering the wire cables can we get them in longer lengths at all

Just to continue the show and tell here is my Zinge advertisement

I know it may not look as glamourise but this holds sentimental value as it was my fathers modelling box of tricks and holds many fond memories from my child hood as he made and created all my war kits when i was a little lad, so in its own way it is an honour.
And it goes every where with me even on holidays or those trips to the in-laws well you have to do something.

@ Mr Dog - Nice "toy" box

Pic below - should be available shortly.

Wrapped wires can be made longer but the process is difficult so they arent cheaper I can get up to 250mm fairly reliably which would cost £2.10 each any size.

Cheers

Re:Zinge Industries - Bits Site - Modular Buggy Release and Salute 2015 Offer. @ 2012/01/11 15:16:24

Meaning, the pins or bolts are integral to the hinge? or that the housing is open to accept a pin?

Re:Zinge Industries - Bits Site - Modular Buggy Release and Salute 2015 Offer. @ 2012/01/11 15:18:32

Post by: zinge

No - There are no pins or bolts only an accurate cut groove that grps the door only good for positioning not "use"

Although snap fit self hinging doors is quite appealing - anybody else think so?

Zinge you are a star I hope you can just fit them on the sprue as my ideas are increasing so the need is increasing Will you keep them as close to the design of the bulkhead door though if you can do them

As for hinged doors yes would be a great idea for models with interior fittings but they are always tedious and prone to breaking but if it can be done I am sure you're the one to do it …….

Snap fit hingeswould be awesome!

I think its doable, just needs the right resin and hinge design i.e sufficient room for the part to "flex" without breaking..

Another option would be to design the door hinge pins so they "drop" down into the mounting brackets.. if that makes sense.. door could be removed by lifting upward but would normally just swing on the hinge..

Im trademarking the name "Zinge Hinge", you will have to purchase a licence to use it.. :p

They have turned out well but I really have only use for the top one and maybe the bottom one, what scale Ork or human

These do look nice casts though detail is top's and crisp you are getting way to good at this , really could do with a larger blunderbuss type gun to match with the top pistol they would look so friggin cool with my Orks.

The flintlock is awesome!

I do agree though, these really do need right and left handed versions (held) to allow modellers to adapt them easily.... although these 'loose' versions are also handy for being holstered up!

How about adapting the flintlock to be longer barrelled and like the witchhunter executioner pistol (with a brazier bit on the front?)

nice work as always!!

@Dog don't ask difficult questions! - best guess within the month?

I'm guessing that at the prodigious rate he turns out the proofs, that it's a very nice additive 3D printing process. Though I wouldnt imagine that he's printing them in bulk...

Resin casts maybe?

the casts are indeed resin... i have the proof on my dask as we speak^^

but i always assumed that the 3D printing was very expensive... i dunno if this hobby stuff could justify the developent costs then...guess zinge wont spill the beans on his desginmaking tho^^

I'm basing my guess off the fact that he posted shots of his "in development" 3D rendering software. Why even use that process, if you aren't using some type of 3D printing?
