That was fast guys! I don't mind the models but they are quite big even for termie themed characters and i still want them to fit in, I was thinking of making them shorter and using normal bases if the models allow me to?

Mutilators and Obliterators are a good chunk bigger than Terminators anyway.
Being that Termis fit well within a 40mm base (taking up roughly 1/2 the 'floorspace' when you look top-down), while Oblits/Muties fill the base.
Also, you have to remember these were specifically designed as not-oblits.
The not-obliterators are nice but since you gave us a taste of your sculpting ability I feel like you could do something nicer and more Slaaneshi with some greenstuff and a box of Chaos Terminators.
Actually, I've been debating making Slaaneshy Daemon Princes using heavily modified Wraithlords as a base... I wonder what Wraithguard Base oblits would turn out like?
I am with Casey's Law....model yourself some conversions, They will be awesome. Maybe not as quick as buying, but who wants something anyone can have when you have the skills you have you need unique.
I like the Terrorizers... not sure why you'd want them shorter though. Unless they're huge, they look fairly in-line with GeeDub scaling. Very much like the Bonner (Boner?!?) guy's mask. Very fetishy, and they are looking suitable organic and er... tubular... I say be lazy and cheat by buying these guys! (not that a scratchbuilt or converted Nerdpiece wouldn't also be great).
You could always just made some "heavy weapon teams" kinda like how imperial guard does but with marines instead. Have a couple guys on a terminator base and so on. That could be pretty cool if done right. Something to toss around anyways

and back to the Oblits, I can see the temptation of converting my own in a style I wish but i'm not 100% on if I can do it justice. the Terrorizers on the other hand are different and I've not seen them around much (or at all) I like the poses and if I do happen to get the itch i may be able to do some small conversion work on them? the Scibor models are also tempting due to the fact I have a Scibor mini as my Lord and i know the size and quality, only issue would be the armour will be the same as the lord and not look as different? I could always use their bodies and the Terrorizer arms? perhaps?
Heavy weapons teams is a good idea too KC could allow me to model some HH armour types and different poses to represent them which would be fun :-)
I'll have a think and get back to you tonight with a decision, hopefully also my other supplies will drop today so I can wash them and start looking at what i have to use! :-)

I was ready a blog last night of some guy whos building his own space hulk (it must have been on dakka), it might have been from hirst arts molds I cant remember or find it now, he was doing a 7ft long board.
I had a similar idea in doing a space hulk type board but was looking at these parts http://www.fenrisgames.com/shop.html#!/~/category/id=2290872&offset=10&sort=nameAsc the floor tiles start towards the end of page two. I like the FW Zone Mortalis boards as well but they are well expensive. I expect If I do it I'll go for Space Hulk tiles lol

hey, guess what? yep, no supplies yet so I'm still trying to tame my feverish mind from straying from the path of what i already have thanks to GFX I am sold on doing a SH type set up, but still not sure which way to go as yet? as I'd like to use the Zone Mortalis rules so probably need fairly wide coridoors and rooms? I still think the Armorcast Starship ones are my favorites even though they have no walls, but then that should enable others to help me convert and build them *cough...cough*.... *Dave*.......*cough wheeze* I can imagine making the actual walkways slightly wider by covering the pipes at the sides with a grate of some sort? so it has some depth and ease of use? but I still come up with nothing that shows a marine for scale! Yes I think i'm on the right track now, I might try and get hold of Panic as i've been following his version of a ZM board too, I really just need to work out how many 1x1 boards I need and what wall designs to go on them, then I will grab my materials and start working on it instead of another army :-) I priced the set from FW and it's $585 Aus, I hope i can come in under that figure lol! should also be easier to do as each tile is a independent and I can build them and work on them one by one!

Since I'm STILL waiting for my bits supply! I thought i'd at least do something productive, so I thought I best do a test mini for my project I hope to do in 2014 (which really isn't far away!) this year will see me finish my Imperial Guard & my Slaanesh force, yes they will be done! but next year I plan on dropping some coin and going Horus Heresy Imperial Fists omg! if i haven't challenged my painting yet I sure will doing that army
so I sat down this morning and had a go at the yellow, this guy took me roughly 1.5-2 hours start to finish and I know it's modern armour but that's all i had in my bits box
Righto, to start he was undercoated/primed with the same Desert Yellow I use for my Guard &washed with Agrax.
then I added some daemonic yellow at about 50/50 and went over the armour again followed by pure yellow, then i added some bleached bone and kept highlighting up to pure bone.
next step is to go over the whole model with watered down yellow ink, I used the one from P3 and it's very strong so make sure it's well watered and you dab off any if it's too strong in places.
not too exciting so far, but once you start adding the other details and lenses he really pops and comes to life!
and a little touch up and basing and he's ready for battle! until he stops for a chat with his mate Barry from the FleshEaters

Obliterators are larger than regular Termies, so it's probably okay.

Thanks guys! I am a little more relaxed now i know how to tackle the yellows, a squad together should look pretty cool :-) and i'm guessing the chest eagle should be red? i've been trying to find a pre heresy scheme but there is soooooo much contradicting info i'm not sure what to take as gospel.
hey, do you think I should start a separate thread to focus on terrain stuff? I am planning that ZM board and it should be pretty involved as far as planning and work goes, I thought I may have it by itself so this thread doesn't get cluttered with Imperial Guard,Slaanesh,Flesheaters AND a game board?

Ive seen both red and black. Black looks considerably better, imo. Red looks like the McMarines.

That yellow is excellent , but I'm going to challenge you to paint the fist with their yellow and red color scheme and make them look good. Yellow and black look great, but not fluffy.

Well, I'm just thinking right now! I know that's a stretch to believe eh! but my bits don't appear to be arriving anytime soon :-( so I am going to paint up some more of my Punisher tank! you know the one? remember the one with BRUCE WILLIS driving it? yeah, memory jogged now! good :-)
O.k the barrels on the main gatling gun, i want to paint them so they stand out as something powerful, I was going to do the ususl heat burn and blue fade but then started thinking about the colour of the metal if this thing is churning out such a high rate of fire would the barrels glow red/white hot? i've googled and youtubed and the examples i have found go one of two ways, result one: no change of colour result two: barrels glow a pinkish hue, paler towards the middle of the gun and nearly white at the tip, does this sit well with you guys? would it look good or would it look like it should join my Slaanesh force lol ;-)
that sounds very interesting about the pink glow i think that would look really cool man...i would really want to see that the the blue way is kinda boring i would go for the more unique approach ont his i mean it is a leman russ and it is glorious and ll so it would be fitting as to see it looked like the barrels are glowing pink from so much lead out put.
in the examples i saw the entire length of the barrels glowed but I could always use artistic licence and have the metal fading into the heat glow? I don't know whet else to search for to get some images of glowing hot barrels? and not the types that homeless people light fires in either!
DrH that's a good pic man! thanks the end of the barrels are probably cooling faster after the firing due to the smaller circumference and distance from the main body? I don't know? but if that's correct then I have the choice of using that pic as reference as if the Punisher has just stopped firing OR I can paint it as if it's firing and do the barrel ends nearly white ......ack! first world problems eh!

Problem is it's so close in color to your camo scheme it just looks like an extension of it. I wouldn't associate the color of the barrels with having recently been fired.
I'm with Gits on this one. It doesn't look glowy. Sometimes when painting things, you need to exaggerate what you're painting to get the affect to work. Maybe go with a brighter glow, that stands out against your camo
Great thread, I love your take on chaos. I think your gun barrel needs to be more red base and a higher contrast with the barrels themselves being hotter than the rings(or whatever they are called). Inspiring work, I'm definitely along for the ride.
Well I think I may have finished my Punisher probably just a few touch ups on Bruce and bits but she's good enough to show! I took your advice and it was KC who said I needed to exaggerate the effect on the cannon so I thought about it and went with the rule of cool I made it look like it was cooling down quite a bit and where it was closed in or close to each other I kept it looking hot, this darkened it up as a whole and gave it the contrast it needed with the camo scheme colours here's some update shots of how it looks at the mo!
And this is what arrived in the post yesterday my Obliterizers! I didn't like the lower part of the leaders face so I cut his mouth off and gs'd a grill into place.
and a comparison shot for you, these guys are also really good quality! clean casts, easy to work with, hardly any clean up needed and the details in them are intense!
Comments? how's the tank looking? any ideas for the Oblitz paint scheme?

Oblits look great as well they do look like they have a ton of detail, will keep you busy for a while I think. Not sure on the paint scheme but pink is a must

Those obliterators look really good, also liking the size of them compared to terminators. The leader looks like he wants a nice cianti(spelling, going for silence of the lambs quote).
Bruce is looking excellent, as always, don't think he ever had biceps like that. But as he will still be alive in 40k, who knows what sort of workout program he'll be on.
Tank looks great. Liking the gun, looks just like I would think it should (still metal AND hot), nicely done.
That is a lot of detail on the Oblit's. From what I understand about them, they collect random weapons and equipment and incorporate it into their bodies, so maybe make bits look like they came from elsewhere and are being partially corrupted...
Nice work, NF. The metallics really made acdifference on the gun barrels (and the model asawhole). Great weathering on the dozer blade, and I love the skull on the turret. Nice touch. Bruce looks awesome.

and of course Bruce would be that buff in the future! a good few hundred years using the BowFlex and doing the Body by TapOut anyone can do it! it's easy...............come and get it!

I think it conveys the heat while still working with the scheme of the army I need to a little tidy up work on Bruce next time i paint, just darken the creases on his face and smooth out his awesome stubble then he'll be Yipee Ki Yay-ing across the board and never fear there will be more cameos throughout as i progress, in fact I need to have a chat to Steve about making another head set based on the characters from the original Predator movie! how cool would that be! maybe we should all hassle him?
from what little I know and retain the Obliterators aren't legion specific are they? but it's still o.k for me to paint them in the Slaanesh theme? they are next on my list of paint next week so I want to make sure i know my direction with them, I don't think they'll take me too long, should have the three done by next weekend if i paint Thursday & Friday? we'll see how we go eh!

I need some help again! I know i'm hopeless dudes! but I still can't find the Dark Eldar Talos tentacles :-( can anyone shoot me a link with any bits stores that I may be able to use? I've found some on ebay but near twenty bucks for 2 is a bit much when i need a bunch of them! they're kind of a main part I need for my ideas with a custom Heldrake and some VERY nasty looking Spawn! :-)
What if you made a wire armature, slather it with LGS, then add rivets, and slather more LGS on? It might make an interesting tentacle?

armature made of wire, then perhaps a sculpting medium? not GS but milliput or something? not sure of the consistency of them but something a little less sticky, then sand them smooth adding suction rivets and slather again in LGS. I did think of the tube tool but I have so much cheaper fun now using a comb and GS :-)

As I found in the Mantis Maker challenge - Paperclip with Toiletpaper + watered down PVA makes for a great base to sculpt on.
Alternatively, I do want a proper Talos... We could possibly work something out in that regard.
that BeesPutty looks very good... I have a feeling I might have to try sculpting in the near future! (how do you get the finished sculpt off the cork afterwards? Just snip it off?) [has visions of custom Eldar galloping through his brain]
I got a beesputty sample with my tube tools but I haven't bothered to use it yet. Greenstuff serves all my purposes for now. I did a write up on the tube tool when I bought it if you're undecided, it's in my Necromunda blog. Spoiler: You need it. You shouldn't have to pay so much for it.
I do find I need to use an awkward about of lube though.

Sounds like an excellent tool though. If I am experimenting with this lot I use copper wire for armature, then use a 50/50 mix of green stuff and milliput, It seems to set hard enough but remain slightly flexable. Can sand it down, even dremel it. Don't know if that helps in the short term until you get said excellent tool.

O.k small update of the Punisher Tank driven by our fave Bruce! I have now called it finished, added a little more to Bruce's face and arms and some more sponge chips on the hull, I think it looks pretty mean!

Also arrived recently are my Raging Heroes Mantis Warrior models for use as my Demonettes of Slaanesh! very nice little models, and I do say 'little' they are so delicate it's ridiculous! nice designs and poses with the only critisism I have being the detail in the faces isn't quite deep enough so I may struggle getting their teeny tiny faces to look right but I'll have a good crack at it! I plan on painting their skin like the head of Azreema

Thanks boys! the Girls will be fun to get painting soon and I 'plan' on mottling them but I'll have to see how that plan reacts when i start! :-) and the lack of mud on the dozer blade is totally easy to justify, they obviously due to the mud on the hull have been in some wet areas and now as they traverse through rubble strewn streets it's been essential for the Guard to bolt on the blade! :-) and they haven't got it dirty yet! how's that sound? lol!

Now, a little bit of works in progress back to Slaanesh i go!and keeping in the theme of army I gently drilled all their holes to make them a little larger and I've named 2 of my Obiterizers but looking for input for number 3 here they are with base paint on their parts, brown areas are going to be gold, metal are metal and anything organic will be faded from purple to red fleshy colours!
Now for some introductions! first be named was Ashio, a Fell warrior who for many battles now has borne the moniker 'Fell'Ashio
Next is Lingus, a Cunning tactician who survived seemingly dire circumstances! whispered amongst the troops here is 'Cunning Lingus'

I also managed to ink some Hell-Bitches these delicate little beauties must have been modeled with me in mind! they're so tiny and posed so well I couldn't even paint a Labia on any of them even if i wanted to!
It's a good start today, should have them (the Oblitz) done next week fully!

I could be wrong but by my understanding if it's coded into the web page then it loads when you open it. As I understand it the spoiler tags just effect formatting. I could well be proved wrong but I'm quite certain that's how it works.
Got a little teeny tiny bit of work in progress on the Demonettes and Oblits
first the Oblitz, I need input on what colour to paint their faces and tabbards? i'm thinking the tabbard robe things should be done in hazard stripes or chevrons? suit the nature of them?
next up is my Hell-Bitches, I am liking them so far but can see them being very time consuming and then potentially unimpressive due to the small size of them losing the details? but I think i'm on the right track!
and i tried some new shots of old models not bad but not perfect yet, the light was good, then bad, then good, then bad then I got shirty and just did it!

Yeah, I think some hazard stripes would be good somewhere on the Oblit's and green skin is not a bad idea Gits', not hulk green maybe more sickly green.

I was thinking something similar but pale. I guess any of those colors done pale would work. What ever makes the skin more dominant than it is.
Damo, damn duderkins, I think your hell bitches are going to look bad ass, and so far your retakes really look jazzed up. But you are now learning that taking good pictures can be harder then painting well
I don't know if you've given any idea as to basing these, but I think different colored grass fo the bases, some nicely manicured, some mown smooth, and some wildly overgrown don't know why I went there
Sorry, my recommendation wasn't clear... I was thinking something grey/green for the tabbards, so that it really contrasts nicely with the pinkish-red of the skin on the arms and such. Which brings me to my next point... why would you paint the face differently? Isn't it made out of the same basic stuff as the arms?
Maybe blend it to a bit more of a flesh tone so it more closely resembles the skin tone of humans they once were... but other than that... I wouldn't recommend changing it all that much.

Of course, why didn't I think of that! sometimes I tend to over think things eh but i took your advice and did some more work on them, nothing finished yet but I like how they look now with some more focal direction
and I added a little red to the tips of the Girlz claws, think it's just what they needed!
I am also trying to work on another little tute of how i do my faces on my models my biggest prob is getting a clear shot of each stage but I should be at least able to get something done tomorrow!

O.K, I started with Cull'n bare head as it has good detail and I haven't painted it before, to start I primed black, just a light mist for the paint to stick to then based it in Tallarn flesh paint
next watered wash of Agrax shade
next I used Tallarn flesh again to highlight the brow, cheeks, chin
Tallarn flesh, bleached bone 70/30 mix watered and with a light touch over the highlights.
Now 50/50 Tallarn flesh & bleached bone
then a very light stroke of bleached bone on the highest parts
that's the skin done, the important part is the details that tie it together, I added a little red to the bottom lip and scar on his face as well as bone for his teeth.
A little dark grey in the flesh colour and applied thinly to the head looks like shaved hair, watered slightly and dragged down the cheeks gives a stubble look without being to strong.
and really that's it! if you're careful and apply REALLY light strokes it's not hard, I can't get 'Eavy metal standard but I am happy with them as a good table top face that I reckon anyone who want to can do here he is mocked up on my test marine after i ripped his head off!
I no doubt will do another tute with greater detail in the future but if anyone has any questions or wants a more detailed description of any part then just ask

Automatically Appended Next Post: O.k i'm just starting to flesh out my idea for a heldrake, i've only bought a couple of bits to gaze at for inspiration but you guys will know what i'm talking about my idea is to keep him Organic and Slaanesh-y not necessarily a copy of the actual model but using parts from it if needed. I want him to be still creepy and kind of sexual if you think about it too much so my basis was the Tervigon belly, it gave me a strong Scrotum vibe to start with and i thought i can add Plague fly wings along the top if i add an armour plate from the Heldrake? as for the mouth/head I want a *ahem* rolled back skin appearance filled with teeth and the main armament! i'm also thinking a bunch of questing tentacles somewhere?
i'd love to get some ideas from you all and see if you can't help me get a better feel for which parts etc. to use

I have to say, it's looking a bit Nurgley at the moment, I kind of think Slaaneshi stuff is sleeker, but early days yet.... unless you're planning on sculpting nipples on all those bumps and having it breast-tastic...?

Nerd' just a thought that may help you adventures into "is it or isn't it" depravity; Have you looked at any H.R. Giger work? He's done a lot of stuff that you can be looking at for quite a while until you realise what you're actually looking at. Should be right up your alley...

I shall browse his works again for some ideas though! and speaking of ideas, my Hel-Sak ideas, Finn mentioned it appeared Nurgly which I can totally see! but how about if i tweak it to look more aquatic? with the shape of the belly (which shall be duly nippled) i'm thinking about making it look like one of those deep sea lantern fish? albeat with some armour plates and a bale flamer (I think that's what it has isn't it?) that way i can add a lot of teeth and a gaping maw as well as some tentacles, where should the tentacles go? trailing behind? coming forth from his mouth? from the sides like clusters of wriggly wings?
Big lot of photo's today! works in progress and some assembled Terminators for my Slaanesh force, I really need a band name for them don't I they can't just be 'the Slaanesh guys' for ever!
Oh my, I am really pumped about this Hel-Sak i'm building, I'm happy my general idea fits together so far but i need some input from you guys again, so here it is so far just glued together for shape and size purposes.
and now for the input part wings? which to use I have 3 options, Heldrake wings, one set of Plague wings, or two sets of plague wings? first is the Heldrake wings tacked into place:

and third is two sets to balance him?:
So that's where I am with him/it at the moment and I like it, the size is good the shape is organic and different and i feel it fits the aesthetic of my Slaanesh force? the only weapon I need to incorporate is the flamer? if that's right? it fits perfectly in the maw!
next up in today's works of lots of building! my Terminators! finally got my box of bits and assembled them, I must say these guys really float my boat! they look tough and chaos-y, so here's the boys that will put some hurt down!
this guy I didn't think I'd like as much but when I look at him now I get the feeling he's just dead 'ard and staring down anyone he wants to on the battlefield! (excuse the floating Samoyed hair that landed as i took the pic )
and a shot of the PW shoulder pads, they'll be gold so it will disguise any imperfections
And now for one last but very exciting thing! I got home early this morning and just before I headed off to bed I received a knock on the door and a rather large and impressive looking package what was it? eagerly running my eye over it I was suitably excited to see it was in fact from our very own Gitsplitta! it was the prize from his Mantis Maker challenge! and when he said his wife was going to make a tin of Cookies! MAN! did she make a TIN OF DELICIOUS COOKIES! OMG! these things are simply amazingly tasty i've already eaten nearly half I think I may need to marry your wife Gits if you ever tire of her? also unwrapped my trophy and I'm really happy I asked for Gits to paint him up, he just looks epic and now has pride of place on my shelf of things Nerdy, I am so proud of coming 1st and will look at it and use it to spur me on to push my painting in the future! the other things in the epic box of epicness was a beautiful printed letter overlaid on an image of the trophy from Gits which I thought was simply the nicest touch ever and at the moment it's on my fridge waiting for a frame, something so nicely written needs to be properly cared for! and lastly was an Ork Deff Dredd, not specifically for me per-Se but I will be painting him up for Gits soon and I'm looking forward to it

I'm going to vote for Option 3. Any chance of having one set of wings up so it has more movement in it? At the moment, it reminds me A LOT of a royal yanma from Nausicaa of the Valley of Wind - a very definite good thing! The holes in the face at the moment - are they for eyes, or something else?

I'm going to go with option three as well looks really good, are you going to run some wires down the underneath of the tail would look cool and give it a slight daemon engine look like the decimator. Oh and yes you want the flamer option in the maul

I like the four wings as well, but the sack underneath makes me think its gobbled up some people, so you must paint it purple and do the "one eye, one horn, flying purple people eater" thing.
Four wings it is then guys ;-) there will be some movement and some tentacles along the length of the tail section, the top part is actually the bottom part of the heldrake model so i don't really know what the holes are for lol but glossy black soulless eyes seem to be in order?

Loads of goodness! I like the flyer concept and I was pro two wing sets until I saw the sketch. The one set of wings just balances much better but I think you can make it work by putting the two sets much closer together. Insects have their two sets right next to each other, some even hook them together to increase the surface area. Keep it up mate, rockin stuff happening here.
Nerd I have been lurking here too long! I have to say that all your evil slaaneshy goodness is simply superb, the inspiration is simply flowing out of this thread!
I have to say that for me your new flyer looked best with just the forward set of wings, the four looked a little odd to me, but thats just my two cents! The concept, once fully nippled up, will be the most fitting and truely hideous addition to this budding army, which is already the best slaanesh themed army I have ever seen, the pink is just garish (in a truely slaaneshi way!)

I think you should do 6 wings as it's his/her sacred number really pinky fairy wings will looks suitably creepy against that beast. I wonder if you should make a feature of the + hole, just to add to the ick factor. I like the glossy black eyes, BTW.

The dusty white highlight effect on the black is superb. If I read your notes correctly it was done by undercoating them, then hitting them at a distance with white citadel spray?
Hel-Sak update, been working on him today, it's a slow process as i need to fill a bit of area and he's kind of delicate at the moment (must have had a big night) I added some tentacles to the rear and some smaller stabilizing wings as well as the flamer in place and the first set of wings in GS to hold them where I want also inserted small bits of tube and some balls for his eyes!
still heaps to do and tidy up but he's working well i'd say
I also got a package of paint today! I ordered it online and had the urge when at the check out to add something in the 'comments' box ........ and they did what i requested! now that's service ....................

Thanks guys! Hel-Sak is all winged and GS'd up now! hopefully he'll be set enough to try and sand him a little tomorrow? I added some GS to the inside of the mouth and tried to make it look kind of natural but it won't matter too much as the mouth will be painted very dark in a similar style to the Mauler Fiend. next Thing I need to do is make some armour banding for his back so it gives a good sharp transition between the fleshy and armour parts of him! then primer and photo's for you :-)

Hey hey hey guys! I finished my Hell-Sak conversion and priming today, I can't wait to paint him I added some banding and riveting to his armour to help separate the parts of his flesh from the top half of him, some bits are a bit rough in places but when I paint him you shouldn't notice too much as they'll be darker purple on him.
his eyes are actually little resin balls I clipped off the top of some resin terrain posts I had lying around suitably googly I think!
Next week will see the finish of the Oblits and some more work on the Demon-Hell-Bitches and maybe some primer on the Termies
I also had a fiddle around with my ZM board and the mesh I have for it, cut a square and glued it down with a couple of plastic vents in the floor, once I get some plasticard strips and my Chopper I'll add some thick bands to separate it into quadrants and rivet the heck outta it! this board tile is going to be an open one anyway so i can have a good play around with it.
Well, sorry I can't stay and chat or comment on the awesome work i've seen in my mates subscribed threads as i'm off to bed right now, I've an early start tomorrow but i'd love to see what you think of my Sak? any ideas for scheme? I'm thinking very light and veiny on the lower half and dark edges around the join in the armour plates and wing tips? with the gold metals
Well your sac is looking very nice so far Nerdy, its even starting life in a very natural colour. I think the throbbing vein idea is going to look really good. I think you have the colours pretty nailed down to be honest.

Thanks guys once the primer went on I was very happy with the final look to him! he just still looks like what he's meant to represent, a Heldrake i'll try and get the light pink and the purple through the airbrush on him tomorrow morning before bed
I do seem to have some models on the go don't I first thing to finish is the Oblits as they're the furthest ahead in paint, then it'll be some Hell-Sak base coating and finally finish the Hell-Bitches ..... then the Termies, then finish the Guard squad, then the Celestial Lion termies, then the Storm troopers...... then.....
I like that flying thing. It really reminds me of an anglerfish, maybe it could have a little dangling lure in front of it. Although I am not sure what sort of lure a flying slaaneshii hell fish would use. Probably nothing pleasant.

I did manage to get the base purples down on him today, so now i can see what i need to do with him regards to paint! dark and glossy in parts and light and veiny in others, should be a beautiful marriage of twisted beauty! how's he look so far now? I quite like the paint on the wings, it gives you the impression of his outline without being fully one colour!
Thanks guys, but really my airbrush work is sorely lacking in skills! it's very basic and not smooth but serves a purpose as a base shade so i'm not too fussy with it, it's the finer stuff I'm hoping will make him look the goods! :-) should I filigree him up like the Maulerfiend? considering I have another maulerfiend to do also and don't want to make them all too similar?
While I do have lovely balls Dave, they're not the reason I chose to spray over the previous base colour lol! the ballsy part will be adding the filigree and gold in ,easures that it still looks right! :-)

The 'Sak's looking great, even at the early stages. I'd vote yes for the filigree - nothing wrong with having a visually-consistent army, even with with chaos.
Just me in my general insanity, but I want to see a bit of blue on there for some reason...

Hey guys! just a little teaser update today I primed and washed my Slaanesh termies and got crackin' on the Deff Dread for Gitsplitta I have to let you in on a secret though I really enjoyed building and mucking around with this model and am considering a Dread heavy small force next year AFTER my HH Imperial fists! but anyway here's the termies and some Dread-dates
and Dread, primed brown and over brushed with oranges and metals as a base coat for any chipping.
Then added mask and airbrushed the yellow and shadows on him, Hull red from underneath and a couple of brighter yellows for the main panels and top down highlighting.
and lastly for today I washed the whole model quite liberally with Seraphim sepia! and damn I love that wash! it's up there as a favorite now

Wow, now this is some seriously F-Ed up, outside of the box design work. Color me quite impressed. Gonna have to keep my eye out for your blog from now on. Keep up the creativity!
Finally finished my Obiterators! which means it gives me a chance to work on more varied things now I also put some base paint on the gold areas on my Hell-Sak and assembled my Decimator fully and got a bit of paint on him too!

and here's my Decimator suitably Slaanesh-ed up! I gave him a Claw thanks to an idea from the artist formally known as scipio he's a little more dynamic which was tricky as he over balances pretty easy due to his chicken legs but I think he looks o.k

I think it appropriate that your Decimator is a bit... unbalanced Love the claw, proper slaanesh. You should get retro at some point and try to get something with a bull's head, somehow. Anyway, finish the sak mate, then crack on!
I didn't like the decimator at first with the tiny claw, but I think that heavens comments straightened that out. It looks unbalanced...just like any chaos device should. I also agree that you have our permission to play with your sak.
I was going to put some rather inappropriate comments about your sac, and me jiggling it around and such, but I think I'll save that for when it's done everything is looking awesome Damo, here's the encouragement you need to keep trucking
Awesome models, Freud would be proud! Especially like the way the flesh merges with the armour on the oblits, as if the armour itself is mutating. Awesome job!

well, trying to sleep today while the rain and wind belted the Nerd lair I was once again awoken by my 3 furry doorbells! choosing not to try and wrestle them from the front door i merely pulled my blinds up and opened the bedroom window to recieve my packages! totally stoked to see what arrived!

this is what arrived in the boxes from a guy called 'Blueforge terrain' he makes some seriously great stuff from the extruded polystyrene and sells on ebay, I have bought from him before and I emailed him asking if he's be willing to help me out as he knows how to use the foam and has access to it, he replied in the positive and I told him my evil plans! not 2 weeks later I had those rather large box collection sitting there and when i opened them I was soooooo pleased! I unpacked them and put them in a couple of boxes, first is 2 deep corner sections.
then 2 deep and then some of straight sections and doors!
this is how the pieces look, really nicely made and with Hirst arts embellishments on some of them, plenty of room for me to add my own spin on them and enough for them not to be boring!
I don't believe I even went there.
so I'm still trying to tame my feverish mind from straying from the path of what i already have
