Hello and welcome to Warpath War Gaming Club. We are a small friendly War Gaming club who play regularly for fun. Our members come from a wide range backgrounds, experiences and abilities.
How do I join?
Come along and meet us! See if you like the club and would like to play regularly. If you do the Club Treasurer will request payment as detailed below.
We accept new members the first week of every month; ideally your application should be supported by an existing member. If you miss the first week you can always play as a guest which will give you an opportunity to meet our members.
How much does it cost?
Full Membership is £10 a month, this is to cover the clubs cost such as the room rental and the purchase of scenery for the club.
We also offer a Guest membership, £3, which is based on a pay and play system. If you don’t play you don’t pay.
If you just want to watch then its free, Visitors are always welcome
What is included in my fees?
All Members and Guests
• A Venue - A safe and friendly place to War Game.
• Variety – We do not limit what system or Games you play. If you want to play it and can find an opponent you can.
Full Membership
• Gaming Priority – Full members take priority over non members. While we can not guarantee you will always get a Game, you’re more likely to as a member than as a guest.
• A Voice – In all club meeting, you have a voice in how the club is run.
What else do I need?
o Your Preferred System Rules, Dice and Figures required to play.
o A Dakka Dakka forum account – while not essential, we do operate a thread on the forum and good number of our members post there.
o A good attitude
o Patience – we are a new club and still finding our feet
The rules of the club are listed in the Constitution and Code of Conduct and should be adhered to.
Warpath War Games Club does not guarantee that members will play.
If you cannot attend an allocated game then you must inform the club.
When do we play?
Mondays 5.30- 9.30pm at Bignold School, Norwich.
Which Systems do we play in?
The Majority of our members play either Warhammer Fantasy Battles or 40,000. However there are a number of other systems played including, Hordes, WarMachine, Flames of War, Dust Tactics and Others. If you interested in introducing a new systems our members are always eager to learn. We are also looking at running RPG campaigns such as Dark Hersey.

I'm in Norwich too, whereabouts is the venue in the city and what sort of games are you all into?
I've got armies for 40k/ Fantasy/ Kings of War.. will be getting into the game Warpath when the models are released too, if anyone wants to try that out (it would suit the club name, at least!).
I probably won't be doing much gaming until September/ October time, got a holiday coming up and a few other things.. making an exception for the eastern front show next month, though.

I'm working tomorrow then going out, but that location works well for me, I live about 20 minutes away.
Got a lot going on at the moment, but I am definitely interested. Took a long break from gaming while I was at uni but want to get back into it. Was a regular at veterans nights at the GW once, but that was about 6 years ago.

Meant getting in contact with them, possibly even arranging a club vs. club game.

Post by: Nick Ellingworth
Whilst that would be a fun prospect, I'm of the opinion (as a mere member that is) that we should only consider arranging things like that once we've got our own house in order.
Afterall at this stage all we've really got is a name and a room, we still needs to sort out scenery, boards etc. Which I assume will be started on with the remainder of the club funds (aka the initial membership fees) after the first couple of months rent are paid. Still if all members pull together to build and paint what we need it shouldn't take too long to get a decent selection of scenery.

Sorry all was really busy this weekend, so only just got round to checking the threads.
A little of bit of friendly competition is definatley something to keep in mind for the future. However as others have suggested it is still early days, lets learn to walk before we pick a fight
By the way the first thread is now updated with this months meeting dates and times.

Looking forward to it, no idea whether I'll be there or not due to work issues (for training my hours are changing on a daily basis) and I also have no idea whether or not I'll be able to bring my stuff along as it depends on where I'm working, if it's where I currently am that's a big no, but if I get the other job I'm waiting to hear back from a possible yes.
Confused? I certainly am.
I'll let you guys know either way when I know for certain (probably the weekend).

Up and walking we certainly are, running.... not just yet lol
As far as Monday goes we kinda need to know who's playing who and what we are playing. Due to the table space there maybe a few 2v2 or even 3v3 etc etc games going on.
So first of all i'll put up a challenge for a firestorm game, if some people want to try it out (tony and Nick, hint hint). Or even a fantasy game 2v2 2000 points each?
32930
Post by: Nick Ellingworth
I've got 500pts of Firestorm painted and could get 750pts painted by Monday. If I'm going to be there I'd happily have a game. I just need to figure out how to transport my fleet since annoyingly the Sorylian ships need to be stuck to thier bases otherwise they don't balance properly particularly that monster of a battleship.
35173
Post by: Lorna
I would like a 2000pt fantasy game if possible.
but i can do 1750 40k if anyone wants it.
32930
Post by: Nick Ellingworth
Argh my life is confusing, I think I can guarantee my attendance on Monday (and every subsequent Monday too). This is because I have just been offered the job I was really after, boy oh boy is this Monday going to be a busy one, I've got to accept that job and hand in my notice for the job I started this week.
See you all on Monday, I'll probably be in an annoyingly good mood.
PS: I'll see If I can bring about 1000-1250pts of 40k as well as the Firestorm stuff. Oh and I'll also bring along some books for other games too (probably Dark Heresy and Flames of War) if anyone wants to have a look through them.
38693
Post by: Gorillawizard
Nice one Nick, Firestorm seems to be on then, 500 points is all i've got. So just a 4x4 table will do and i'll need to look through the rulebook then.
32930
Post by: Nick Ellingworth
Yeah a 4x4 is more than large enough. I need to read the rules too, I know the basics though.
EDIT: Erm I might have accidentally bought enough Flames of war stuff to field 2 armies today..... if anyone wants to try it when I've got everything painted up (could be a while since I've got 221 really tiny men to paint!) let me know. If you're really interested I bought a Late War British Rifle Company and a Late War German Fallschirmjägerkompanie. The boxes only contain the absolute basics (ie a bugger load of infantry) but they're enough to get started.
EDIT2: Just worked out the points, the Brits come to 410pts and the Krauts 420pts. That'll do to start with I think.

Just a quick note to confirm that I will be along today for the whole evening. I'll definitely have my Firestorm stuff with me along with 1k points of 40k and a big pile of rulebooks for you lot to look through.

Basically Dust Tactics the Boardgame transfered to tabletop Might be worth waiting for. Too late already ordered it however it says the models are transferable so i'm golden. @ lorna - i've had a pm from someone who would like to join and has 3000 point of Bretonnian so hopefully you'll be able to get the WHFB game you want. As this is the first session I think is important to remind everyone to be patient, we may be a little slap dash at the moment but we'll get more organised as time goes on. Personally i'll be there slightly before 5:30, to try and meet the caretaker, not sure what i'll be bringing but I'll probably have to do two trips.

Yes it is, from what I've been told it isn't that far from where Warpath is.

I think that went rather well, ok it was a bit rough around the edges but everyone got a game and we've got some spare cash to start buying scenery.
I enjoyed the Firestorm game even if we got everything wrong I just enjoyed unleashing the power of my battleship and causing a reactor explosion.
Looking forward to Warmahordes next week, I'll see if I can bring D10s and character sheets for those who'd like to have a go at producing some Dark Heresy characters.

Me and forbes have arranged to play 40k next week, so we will be taking up a table.

Will we be having more tables next week?
Oh and btw lorna did you find the key?
19941
Post by: SpankHammer III
Will we be having more tables next week?
At the moment we are limited to the same number of table we had this week, but considering the number of people who turned up it was more than enough.
I don't want to sound like a douche and don't want to state the obvious.
The key is going to be for people to get playing straight away, there was a lot of milling around to start with, so time was lost. Nick and Gorrillawiazard were the only two to jump straight to it. I want everyone to be able to get a game but that is reliant on you guys as much as it the comittee members, we don't want to be telling people what to play and who to play against, that is why this thread was created so you can sort a game out for yourself.
@ Lorna: Don't want to pee on your cornflakes but Forbes is not a full member and thus will take lower priority than any members that turn up so you may have to change your plans.
35173
Post by: Lorna
I know that. We can wait for other game to finish. We don't mind the waiting. And the milling will probably stop once we get into the flow of things.
And i don't wat cornflakes.
@woodbok, no i haven't had time to look in my bag yet.

So how many of you want to make a start on getting Dark Heresy up and running next week? I suspect all we'll be able to get done is character creation as that can take a while particularly if you want to randomly generate everything up to and including whether you're left or right handed.

There used to be a small number of players up Battlenet and Duncan still sells it, he had most of the new stuff when I popped in yesterday.
Also think Starwynn will be stocking more of it, probably to partially replace their GW stock which they've stopped selling.

If they can get any in, getting any Warmahordes stuff in the UK is damn near impossible for retailers from what Duncan and Starwynn have told me in the past.

Duncan still manages to stock a far bit and can usually order in most things he doesn't have in stock, though I don't understand which Warmahordes is difficult to get hold of in the UK when theres a company in Liverpool producing the models on Privateer's behalf.

Post by: woodbok
Cool. Oh, and a few questions about the models. Do you make them yourself? If so, then what glue should I use? And how breakable are they? (Judging by the Dindrenzi models, they look quite fragile.)
34439
Post by: Formosa
didrenzi are very solidly built, hard to break.
32930
Post by: Nick Ellingworth
You do need to assemble them (unless they're Aquans which are all 1 part models), usually the models are either all resin, all metal or a mix. You should use super glue for them.
I can't imagine you'll be able to break them that easily the resin that Spartan use is similar to the stuff Forgeworld and Privateer Press use rather than the soft stuff GW use for the Finecast range.
The only thing you really have to be careful with is the flying stands which can be fragile but that's not an uncommon problem with any model range.
34439
Post by: Formosa
as nick said, also try to magnetise the flying stand.
32700
Post by: woodbok
Do you mean magnetise the ships to the bases?
32930
Post by: Nick Ellingworth
Basically put a magnet in both the flying base and the ship, this in theory will let you keep the model securley attached to the stand whilst keeping in removable. Annoyingly that wasn't possible with my Sorylian fleet because the models are notoriously unstable. EDIT: BTW I've printed off a whole load of extended character sheets (more useful than the basic one IMO) and the rulebook FAQ for Dark Heresy.

Doesn't look too bad, not sure we really need our own forum just yet afterall we've only been going for a fortnight.
I do have 2 issues though:
1) I really think that using Mantic's Warpath logo is a bad idea. Don't need a cease and desist or people signing up incorrectly now do we.
2) Dude your sig is obnoxious, a better way to advertise the existance of the personal forum to club members would be to put the web address on all club documentation and put a link in the first post of the thread (alex will have to do that).

I think I have to agree with Nick about the signature. It feels a little like a mis sell. We don't have a huge gaming area and we don't play almost any system. In fact we are quite limited on both at moment. I'd go a little subtle, something like "Ask we about Warpath Wargames Norwich or join our forum LINK to find out more" Oh plus its not Essex Road, it's Wessex Street

Post by: Nick Ellingworth
As I've said previously it is my intent to introduce you all to Flames of War. I'll be honest this is a very selfish introduction I just want to actually play it rather than simply paint the models and read to books. Anyway what I'm going to do is paint up a pair of 1000pt armies from a single campaign book that introduce nearly every element of the game (the only major ommision is air support/ AA weapons but they can be very complex). The book in question is Hells Highway which covers the battles for Eindhoven and Nijmegen that occured during Operation Market Garden. The briefings ( FoW army lists) I have selected from the book are a British Guards Rifle Company (Irish Guards to be precise) and the German 6. Fallschirmjäger Regiment (basically German Paras). I went for these two because they allow me to create well balanced armies at a low points level (something armoured lists are bad at) and aren't too difficult to use (unlike armoured car/recce squadron lists). Here's the actual lists for those who are interested. Irish Guards Rifle Company: 1000pts HQ: Company HQ: 40pts Combat Platoons: Guards Rifle Platoon: 185pts 3 Squads Guards Rifle Platoon: 185pts 3 Squads Guards Rifle Platoon: 185pts 3 Squads Brigade Support Platoons: Guards Armoured Platoon: 285pts 2 Sherman V, 1 Firefly VC Support Platoons: Heavy Mortar Platoon: 120pts 1 Mortar Section, PIAT team 6. I can't really set a date for when I'll be able to start running games as I've got a lot of stuff to paint (221 infantry figures, 6 tanks, 4 Pak40s with crew and 2 mortars with crew). I'll probably make a start over the weekend though. I'll take a photo of the pile of stuff needed for those two armies at some point too, it's pretty big. I'll put this lot in a thread on our own forum too.

I haven't signed up yet as I can't from work due to the verification box, something to do with the work set up.
I would however ask, and I don't want to sound like an arse, to remove the WARPATH Logo. As Nick pointed out it is a law suit waiting to happen and I'd rather avoid the club getting involved in one of those. So I think I will have to decline joining until it is removed and as the founder, treasurer and secretary of the club I can not condone it as our clubs forum until then.
Sorry Woodbok I know you put a lot of work into it.

Woodbok that’s brilliant man, well done with trying to sound condescending you a very talented young chap. Oh and I’ll bring your Necron codex back tonight as well.
I think we should keep Dark Hersey at the club, people popping in an out will be at Nick discretion as he is the GM and putting a lot of work into it so it is only fair he calls the shots. A character holiday function might be a good Idea though as I don't want new members turning up with no one to play because we are all busy playing dark heresy.
I'll bring 1000 points of beastmen tonight, need the practice.

Right so we've how had the first DH session and to be honest from my perspective it was a failure. I'm not going to blame any one in particular but several of you repeadedly talked over me while I was giving you vital information, this made running the game extremely frustrating.
In future if you want the game to flow better please keep quiet when I'm explaining something. In addition I do have some other concerns:
1) Certain players were behaving in a way that annoyed others. If this keeps up I will not hesitate in kicking you out.
2) 10 players is simply too many for me to keep track of in addition to NPCs. So either we lose a few players or I split the group in 2 and run 2 separate games.
3)We have some underage players in the group which gives me a content problems, a lot of the content of this game is simply unsuitable for those under the age of 18. How we solve this issue is up to you lot.

Nick Your the GM and you are kindly running the Dark Heresey campaign. You have my full support in any actions you feel are needed to run it properly including a reduction in the number of people taking part. If we could have a few volunteers are don't mind sitting this one out it would be appreicated. I'd personally like to continue however I am willing to step out in order to get the numbers right.

Warmachine and Firestorm next week will be pretty sweet.
Yes woodbok I am thinking about you (plus James and Zak), it's not so much whether you're fine with the content but more your parents reaction to you being exposed to it. The last thing I want is for my running of DH to cause problems for the club.

ok gentleman. several members have raised a few issues with myself. Firstly: Interference in games: this includes "giving tips" and "advice" please leave the respective players to there game and try not to distract them, if asked for advice feel free, however things such as "you should X" or "oh you did and now X should do X" will not be tolerated, and i will consider it a breach of the TnC's of memebership and warnings may be issued. I understand we are a loud lot and like to give tips and advice, but not to the detriment to peoples enjoyment. Secondly: (im guilty of this.. sorry) Bad language: I noticed (and commited) a lot of bad language last week, please keep to a minimum, as it can be seen as agressive by noobs. DH: Respect (again sorry): if we are going to play DH, we need to respect Nicks athorita! please.. shut up when he is talking (me too!), yes we were having fun, but nick clearly wasn't. Thank you Any queries please feel free to PM me.

I can't comment there mate, I've not seen any mk1 stuff
On another note I got some FW bolters in the post today so I can finally make a start on some Sterguard. I'm using DA robed marines and the FW Umbra Ferrox for these boys along with some more robed marines and a mix of Grey Knight (swords) and Blood Angel (winged jump packs) parts for some Vanguard.
Oh and I'm working on some Honour Guard too using an odd mix of regular marine, blood angel and space wolf bits. The regular marine stuff is things like shoulder pads, backpacks, some torsos and some helmets. Blood Angel parts are the Sanguinary Guard swords/axes for relic blades. And finally from the Space wolves I've been using legs, some torsos and some helmets. They look pretty good so far and more importantly stand out.

I'm learning to play in GW (some of you may have met me already) but I'm going along on Sunday for the ultra noobs, if someone would like to play against me that day during that slot that would be awesome, otherwise any other day if you get back to me.
I'm also intending to attend on this coming Monday to the club in the school (time permitting). However, I only have Njal Stormcaller, so if someone would be willing to bring an army along for me I'd be able to join in, otherwise, I'd also be happy to do a 2 v 2 if someone has enough points. I'm up for most things, just get in touch

Guys we really need to get into Malifaux, I played a demo game today at the Easter Front show in St Andrews Hall. It's a very entertaining game and quite easy to pick up once you figure out the card mechanic (they've replaced dice with cards). The models look awesome too. I also spent a lot of time browsing the trade stands, got myself another Firestorm Fleet (Directorate) simply becuase I know at some point I'll want to play a fleet other than Sorylians. Grabbed a KR aluminium case with enough foam for those two Flames of War armies I'm doing. Bought the rules (plus one expansion) for Field of Glory which is an Ancient/Medieval game not sure if you lot are interested but it looks like it'll be easy enough to pick up (uses a points system) and I've always wanted an excuse to try a historic game at some point (I'll bring the book with me tomorrow and let anyone who's interested have a read). Also got enough stuff to introduce a rather interesting looking 28mm WW2 skirmish game called Operation Squad, it's as the name suggests a squad level game (about 10-20 models per side). Plus vehicle rules will be coming out later this year covering everything from jeeps to tanks. Bought a couple of squads to get us going in the form of some Soviets and Waffen SS Grenadiers (again I'll bring the rules tomorrow). I must be mad to try more game systems but both Field of Glory and Operation Squad look really inteteresting.

I believe i've seen Operation Squad played at Aftermath but not sure.
And i bought the Malifaux rule book yesterday from Wayland games, and probably going to buy the Neverborn Pandora boxset this week sometime. Soooo want to get into Malifaux, models are so cool. Kinda thinking GW games will be totally on the backburner forever if i get into this many other games systems (aside for the doubles tornament coming up).

I can't really see myself dropping 40k/Fantasy as I still really enjoy them, I might however stop buying so much as I do want to try as many different games as possible (hence today's spending spree)
For Malifaux I'm thinking about going for the Outkasts Viktorias set, will have to wait until I get paid at the end of the week though.
Just done the maths and I've got two 500pt Operation Squad armies which is the standard points level for the game plus a whole load of extras that will allow for different set ups. Not bad for £70 really.
Here's the lists for anyone who cares:
Russian Army (Rifle Squad):
1 Sergeant (with Binoculars)
1 Machine Gunner
7 Riflement
1 Sniper
1 Maxim section (gunner plus 2 crew)
495pts
German Army (Waffen SS):
1 Sergeant (with Binoculars)
1 Corporal
1 Waffen SS (mg42)
2 Waffen SS (Stg44)
4 Waffen SS (Kar98k, 1 is medic)
495pts

Don't get Pandora as a starter - she is the most complained about master in the game (her skizzle is based around forcing horrendous amounts of ranged WP tests, it really ain't fun for opponents) and pretty horribly OPd.

Shame you couldn't make it. Hopefully we'll be able to get a game in some other time.
Hopefully in a couple of weeks time I'll have that operation squad stuff built and undercoated (probably not painted though but I'll try to do a couple of test schemes), thankfully a lot of the models are single part and just need to be based but others like the Russian Maxim gun and the German MG42 are rather more complex. No idea if I'll understand the rules by then though.

Update I've now updated page 1 with the September Meetings. Next week Just a reminder we will not be meeting next week due to the bank holiday, this won't be a problem going forward but as this the first month systems are not in place yet. Please pass this on to anyone people who may not be on Dakka October Also can anyone wishing to be a member for October please pay the first meeting of the nest gaming month being 5th September 2011. I know a lot of you are paid up for September and might be wondering why you have to/should pay for October when we've not even got through September yet and why you can't just pay nearer the time. It all comes down to room rental, I need to know a month in advance if we are going to have enough money in the kitty in order to cover our outgoings. Otherwise we might get to the end of the month and realise we have come up short which would mean that we would either have to take money out of the scenary budget or I'd have to make the shortfall personally (something i'd rather avoid). I also do not wish to be scrabbling around a day before the rent is due trying to collect membership off people.

@Formosa - I've got an (unpainted) Ariadna force for infinity if you're interested in the game. Haven't played it yet, just bought the models I liked the look of and roughly made a list out of that. Think it's about 300 points in total? I seem to vaguely remember building an army list before making the purchases to make it game-ready.
Would be happy to give it a go at some point, but am still currently not able to attend anything due to work taking me out of Norwich for the next 4-6 weeks or so. On the plus side, it'll give me time to get the models painted up.
34439

that would be perfect, as im going to be broke till the 25th, moving is expensive, so i will be buying a few models at the end of the month

I must admit I do like the look of Infinity but it'll have to wait until sometime after I've bought a car (some time around late November/early December) hence why I can't afford it.
Really should have jumped on one of those starter deals being offered a few months back.
Still 40k, Fantasy, Firestorm Amada, Flames of War, Malifaux, Operation Squad and Warmahordes are enough to keep me going for some time.
34439
Post by: Formosa
damn nick, got enough
32930
Post by: Nick Ellingworth
You can never have enough game systems/armies.
It's gets worse when I think about how much I have for each system:
40k: Black Templars, Chaos Marines, Eldar, Grey Knights/Inquisition (pre wardification), Imperial Guard and Space Marines
Fantasy: Dark Elves, Empire, Lizards, Ogres, Skaven and Tomb Kings
Firestorm: Directorate, Sorylians
FoW: Mid War Aussies, Late War Brits, Late War Germans
Malifaux: Outcasts (Viktorias)
Operation Squad: Red Army, Waffen SS
Warmahordes: Protectorate of Menoth
Ok most of the 40k/Fantasy stuff isn't really an army but a few units ditto for the Aussies. The rest however are all usable on the table.
TBH though if I weren't trying to introduce FoW and Operation Squad to the club I wouldn't have so much stuff for them.

Infinity does look cool, there are a lot more minis than I was expecting, what's it play like? Already seen a couple of sides i'd be interested in, however I just don't have that much disposable income at the moment and I want to get my Beastmen to at least to 2500, plus i'm looking to possibly expand on my dust tactics collection (however I haven't picked a side yet so not sure whta to get) also GoW 3 and Space Marine are out this month. By the way all, i'll be bringing Dust Tactics next week if anyone wants a game (not necessarily against me) @James100 i'll give you game if you like but i'm still learning. @Nick I was really tempted by FoW, was in hobby craft, nearly bought the book. Then the Mrs reminded me that we need a load of stuff for the house. So eneded up buying some tea towels and oven gloves. Nearly as fun i'm sure

Deamons are the pre-eminent fantasy army, they work more like space marines (forgiving) the trick is to take away any rank bonus they may have, deamons crumble similer to undead.
Bloodletters have KB as well, but vs beastmen this is kind of pointless, very little armour anyway, your best bet is to pin them with minotours and hit them in the flank with some rank and file troops.
there characters are very nasty, kairos being maybe the best, to be fair i would try to not use any uber characters in such a small game

Gorilla do you want a Malifaux game on Monday? I might have just about got my head round the rules by then. My crew is already built ,I'm thinking we should go for a 30 Soul Stone game as that would give us a decent pool for use in game after we've bought our crews.
Also if anyone is interested I hope I'll be able to demo Operation Squad (albiet while figuring out the rules as I go), no promises as I've still got to build the Waffen SS army but I should be able to get them done during the week.

It wasn't that as such. I planned to sit back with ma hordes and just shoot warp lighting at him forcing him to come to me. Turns out first spell i miscast can cause 1 wound to my bsb and warlord and killing off my warlock engineer. that and i forgot my ruby ring which would have chucked out another fireball each turn.

I would happily play 40k with you but i have a dentist appointment at 1.30 so i cant :( that but i might be able to have one about 3ish?
Edit:
Yeah it's at 1.30 so i can play about 3ish it really depends on the bus times because my dentist is on the same route i go into the city and it wont cost me any extra money for the bus fares so yeah i can do it. What points value though and i'm guessing gw

I would but I don't have a 1750pt 40k army I want to use atm. Yes that is because I'm still refusing to play with an unpainted army, once my White Minotuars are finished then things shall be rather different.

In part it was bad luck, but there was a lot of back seat driving as well. It wasn't done maliciously it was an attempt to help me learn the game better, however it just ended up confusing matters on more than one occassion.

As we discussed last night Dark Heresy will be resuming in two weeks time. Hopefully this time it'll go a bit smoother. I'm not sure how much further we'll get as I've not actually read the campaign for a while.
Unfortunately I didn't have time to run Operation Squad this and and I doubt I will in the next couple of weeks either (learning Malifaux and running DH, are time consuming). Oh well gives me more time to try to paint the squads up.
Just a quick note to say that I'll probably only be bringing Malifaux with me next week (you'd better remember your crew gorillawizard) and maybe Firestorm as rather than getting a lift from Martin (who won't be attending next week) I'll be coming straight from work and I can't really store much there during the day.

I not sure if we're neglecting it.
I was going to bring my guard with me tonight, however I 'm not sure that it will be doable with all the other stuff I have to bring, so unless some one wants another 1000 point fantasy game I will be bringing Dust Tactics only.
Also can all members who took the clubs scenary to paint bring it in (including all left over bits) as there was a shortage last week and as only the maufactorum turned up which I brought.

How do All
I will be there this week, just a reminder November membership will now be on sale.
Also the mad twisted genius that is Games Master Nick Ellingworth is running Dark Heresy again so all people who are taking part remember your D100 and bribery cookies.
October is hopefully going to be awesome, it's a 5 Monday month and we now have a fair chunk in the scenery budget so hopefully we will be able to plough that back into the club this month.

Would anyone be up for doing some mordheim at some point. I've started reading some rules and it's just like fantasy only basically 10 - 20 models so its a small game and cheap to collect. There are different races like fantasy i.e Skaven, Beastmen, Sisters of sigmar, Dwarfs, Vampire counts. It looks quite fun guess i'l have top print off the rulebook at some point and bring some models to proxy for a game in.

yeah I don't mind giving it a look. On a more serious note: Members with club scenery, I want all of it to be brought in next week regardless of its condition. This includes all spruces and left over parts, if it is not disciplinary action will be taken. I expect the full support of committee and club members on this

Very much up for it, it's my favourite GW game. I have the rulebook, and some warbands. If you're looking to pick up some models for it, it's worth keeping in mind that the Empire Militia and Skaven Night Runner boxes were originally released for Mordheim, so they have all the equipment options you'll want. One box of either one of those will give you basically every model you'll ever need for your warband, unless you go for exotic extras, like hired swords and things.
I've been meaning to make some proper terrain for it for a while, converting the nice new GW terrain into ruins.. I did have the card buildings from the boxset, but they were a kinda flimsy and ended up taking a bit of a battering. Plastic is definitely the way to go to get stuff that is immune to damage.
Still out of Norwich at the moment, will be back in a month!

Good News All
I have just purchased a bumper crop of scenery for the club. I have paid for it using my paypal account, it is from Wayland Games, unfortunately I can't afford to donate this so I will be reimbursing myself using the club funds.
Due to several requests a good portion of it will be fantasy, however I have tried to keep a good deal of it generic e.g trees, walls, hills
However for you 40k fans I have purchased a bastion and some additional craters.
I realise that some of you might have wanted more specialised terrain for other systems or from other manufacturers, such as terraclips, but through a combination supply issues and due to the majority of the club playing GW games I felt this was the best option.

Well I'm not certain if I'll even be able to use what I've got at the moment anyway, the Cyclops Savages do not want to go together. Oh well at least I wasn't planning on actually using them beyond learning the game.
BTW I've got my Colette crew now. Can't do anything larger than 25ss yet though.

Post by: Formosa
who cares what side the BM book is suposed to have, exchange x army for x army, it will be a bit of a change, ust because we have marines and guard dont mean we have to play a marine or guard mission, we could do an ork one, imagine guard recycling its troop choices and we have to kill as many as possible....
32930
Post by: Nick Ellingworth
Well I've in the past played BT vs BA using an Ork mission and it was a lot of fun, so if you lot roll something really odd you could have a really good game.
BTW I really really dislike Skorne Cyclops Savages, they really are a pain to put together. Although it must be said not as headache inducing as some of the Infinity models I've got I think I'll have nightmares about the Dakini Tacbots for some time.

Well that was an enjoyable evening.
It's Dark Heresy next week, we could get to the end of the campaign but that all depends on you lot.
Just a warning this campaign could be the death of everyone's characters if you mess up the ending. However if by some miracle you manage to survive I might have a few extra rewards for you.
No matter what the outcome for the second campaign I will be introducing the Inquisitor's Handbook and Daemon Hunter book. I might also add some others depending on what you lot want from the game.
32930
Post by: Nick Ellingworth
Well I thought DH went well. I suspect for the next session we'll merely get to the end of this campaign and possibly (depending on time) get all the preparations for the second campaign out of the way.
I believe I'll be playing Firestorm next week with Martin but I'll bring along my Malifaux stuff as well. I'll also make sure to bring Munchkin.

I enjoyed it my character not passing out was good, also quite enjoy lasing the guys arm off until he vomitted an died of shock.
I've got a 2000point 40k game against Tony, i've only really written two 2000 point lists. One was for the Golgotha Campaign which was basically my 1750 with an extra 26 man platoon in it, which is about as mech as I can get really (without squadrons in Heavy support). The other is pretty much based on what I can get in my KR multicase (or overspill case), probably not the best tactic to base a list on.
Against my better judgement I think i'm going to use the KR case becasue there is a lot of stuff I don't use that often including several conversions I'm kind of proud of. Plus if i get pwned I have an excuse "well it was the list I brought"

32930

I would be interested in actually playing in an RPG rather than just GMing at some point.
Maybe what we ought to do is keep the RPG session once every 2 weeks thing but alternate between DH and Fantasy Roleplay. Although obviously that would result in a very long time between sessions for each system which could be a problem.
35173
Post by: Lorna
Not really. If you do one every 2 weeks it would mean that they give the GM's more chance to prepare. Fantasy would be written by me. And James, you can only be man, dwarf, wood elf and high elf.
32930

I'm bringing down fantasy and 40k and was going to play zak and johnny but if lorna and gorilla want to play them then im fine with that. Sparkz i'l happily play 40k with you but i would need to borrow a rhino as my army is not complete yet :( but apart from that i can do 1750 points worth.
