Hi All,
I have started to build a dreadnought, tech Preist and three ultra marines for the 2013 carnivals. Below is a picture to give you an idea of what is in store.
1: The dread will have 10 speakers, so the dreadnought can speak to the crowd and give orders to the Ultramarines with me.
2: The dreadnought will have an Assualt cannon that spins with a radio control car motor with lights in the tubes so it can be seen at night.
3: Missile launcher will have 8 speakers acting as missiles to hide them in the costume.
4: A 4ft banner on top to make the dreadnought 12ft high, this should give good size to my kids playing the space marines.
5: It will be 2 metres wide and 1 metre deep.
This has already been started, photos Below.
This will be updated as I get more info on the carnivals that the Dreadnought will enter weather permiting.

Space Marine Dreadnought
Standing three times the height of a man, these towering war machines bare powerful weapons and are as lethal at range as in close assault. A chapter's Dreadnoughts are treasured relics, only awoken in great need. Encased inside every Dreadnought, lies a mighty space marine hero, who has suffered grievous wounds in battle, saved only by his interment.
The Hellfire Dreadnought replaces the standard Dreadnought Powerfist with a Missile Launcher, trading its close combat ability for long-range, anti-vehicle firepower. The advantage of the Dreadnought's Missile Launcher over its Space Marine equivalent is that it is capable of moving at full speed whilst still laying down a barrage of missiles. Hellfire Dreadnoughts are usually referred to as Fire Support Dreadnoughts. The Hellfire Dreadnought's Missile Launcher carries up to 8 Krak Missiles that are capable of causing severe damage to enemy vehicles, and unlike the Missile Launchers carried by Space Marine infantry, the Dreadnought is fully capable of firing accurately whilst moving. The Hellfire Dreadnought can use any weapon in the Astartes Armoury other than a Dreadnought Close Combat Weapon or another Missile Launcher as its other weapon arm. A Dreadnought using either of those two configurations will be classified as either a standard Mars Pattern Dreadnought or a Mortis Dreadnought, respectively.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Whilst we stand, we fight. Whilst we fight, we prevail. Nothing shall stay our wrath."
—Marneus Calgar, Master of the Ultramarines
The Ultramarines are considered one of the strongest and most honoured of all the Space Marine Chapters in the Imperium of Man, and were responsible for almost single-handedly holding the Imperium together after the Horus Heresy. Highly disciplined and courageous warriors, the Ultramarines have remained true to the teachings of their Primarch Roboute Guilliman for 10,000 standard years. The Ultramarines were originally the XIII Space Marine Legion before the reforms that initiated the Second Founding and reshaped the Imperium after the Heresy on the orders of Guilliman himself.
The name "Ultramarines" is a nod to both the Chapter's standing amongst the other Space Marine Chapters and their role as the source for the gene-seed of more Chapters of Astartes than any of the other former First Founding Legions combined. The culture of the Ultramarines is loosely themed upon the culture of Old Earth's ancient Roman Empire, as exemplified in their Astartes' pseudo-Latin names and their strict adherence to the Codex Astartes, as well as the society of their homeworld of Macragge and the Chapter's method of recruitment. The Ultramarines directly rule the sector of space in the Eastern Fringe known as Ultramar as a fief of the Imperium and their Chapter Master is also considered the Lord of Macragge and the Master of Ultramar.
Here is a update.
This is the build so far off costume number 1 of 5
Other costumes are a tech priest for my girlfriend as we are entering walking pairs.
My 3 kids as tactical ultra marines one has heavy weapon, 1 has bolter and the last has bolt pistol maybe and a power sword.
I have been out with the family this weekend and got some supplies that I will need later in the project and thought
I would share them with you. This is for anyone else that wants or is thinking of building a dreadnought.
Its Monday night and I have some time to do some more to the project.
I have start to do some work on the back power plant centre section on the dreadnought.
I have cut three groves/grills in the base part as you can see from the photo below, this will house some lights later as
I am entering this dread into a carnival so needs to be seen at night. There will be lots of lights on the dread.
More detail will be added to this using bolsa wood to save weight..

Thank you for your quick reply
Would it be possible for you to post a large picture in full HD of the Ultramar 2nd dreadnought 1st company banner so i can get one made please?
Also if people have quotes that they would like the dreadnought to say to the 1000s of people in the carnivals. Keep it clean please
I have about 30 so far more are welcome.
Here is three I made up as an example for you.
1: There is no dishonour in trembling in fear, at the sight of the likes of me!!!!
2: I send chaos back to the warp to make way for truth and justice.
3: While I stand and draw breath, the emporors will shall be done.
Shooting quote as an Example
1: Sensors detect hostile forces, Heresy will not go unpunished. Assault cannon online.... Then I fire the Assault cannon at the crowd near me.
And last some none copywrite music that it good for dreadnought, like marching or walking sound effects.
I have looked for walking sound effects as of yet cannot find any good ones.
Would it be possible for you to post a large picture in full HD of the Ultramar 2nd dreadnought 1st company banner so i can get one made please?
Not sure how I would be able to go about doing that I'm afraid. I just took a photo of the codex. Other than try take another larger photo of that particular one. I'll try and you can see if its any use.
This site has a load of banners - although nort sure you'll get very good quality when expanding to the size you want, might pay to paint one yourself?
Looking forward to see how this build goes though, very ambitious - my only concern would be the leg position in the costume - doesn't look very comfortable or manouverable - have you considered doing something similar to the Walking with Dinosaurs where the performers legs are separate to the costume legs?
For quotes, look to Bjorn the Fellhanded in Battle of the Fang. Walk up to the oldest guy you can find and instruct him to "be quiet, youthful pup" or something to that effect.
Serious point - have you considered how difficult it could be to walk in this if the wind kicks up? You might want to drill more holes throughout to allow air to pass through, and cover the full thing in tights material to cover the holes, prior to spray painting.
Can't imagine a dreadnought felled by a stiff breeze looking all that cool

The photo is alot better than the one I have, Would you be able to take it again with the book as flat as possible please so the edges are straight in the photo.

You aren't worried about damage using balsa wood? The slightest knock will destroy it. So you have to pack and move it carefully, let alone never bump into anything while you're trying to maneuver.
jabbakahut wrote: You aren't worried about damage using balsa wood? The slightest knock will destroy it. So you have to pack and move it carefully, let alone never bump into anything while you're trying to maneuver.
The bolsa wood is only for detailing on top of the foam board to keep the weight down. Its all about the weight. The wind may be a problem, in a carnival there is not a lot of wind as buildings and crowds of people and carnival floats block the wind nicely. with a costume like this the crowd follows me ,haha
If you are looking for sound effects, soundbible is probably your first bet. I had a look around for a good noise but didn't find one straight away. Even so they have hundreds of gun effects, explosions, everything! I use it for video editing all the time and I don't see why it would not work for you.

Have you considered arming it?
It wouldn't be too hard to equip it with a nerf gun for the assault cannon, and a set of nerf missiles for the missile launcher.
That way you can actually 'hunt' your targets. :p
If you're interested I'm happy to help you with what would be best to use and how to mount it.

I have not thought of arming it as would not be safe to fire things at the crowd, Good idea though.
I had some more time to spend on the dreadnought today. So I worked hard and got a lot done.
The blue on the side is card to hide the weight saving drill holes in the board one of the main supports to the costume.
I have been doing some voices today that the dreadnought can say though 10 speakers on the dread.
Below is a video with more info on the costume build, Enjoy.
That facade is looking great. And that video was rather informative and gave much more insight into the project. I added some comments about the audio. The lines are great, all the stuff from the DOW games is really good. It makes me want to bust out my OEM 40K book which was filled with great lines.
Time is getting closer when I have to soon start thinking about the weapon arms, the hardest will be the moving assault cannon with lights

Soon it will be time to add the spray paint to the costume.
I was thinking of a satin shine, as its not like gloss and has a haze of shine.
Most metal objects like cars have a haze of shine so why not a dreadnought. i thought matt
would be a bit boring and the hand painting that I am planning on doing will look better.
The weapons will be matt just the blue parts of the main body will have the haze.
I think the tech marines would have put a protective shine on the dread as we all know
lazers can bounce off shiney areas. Yes a old dreadnought would have had most of the
shine taken off from years of battle. My dreadnought has had been serviced fixed and repaired
if you like and been upgraded for battle as the marines see their dreadnoughts as relics of battle,
so they would look after them well as the marines inside them have been around for along time.
Thats my view
Started to put the black undercoat on today and also I have started on the missile launcher weapon sponson.
The top of the dreadnought is not done yet because I have to leave space for the people who are helping
me install the lights. I have to base coat black and then the blue so all the spraying is done before doing the lights.
It has to be done in order as we do not want to spray over the lights. Then dry brushing and highlighting the angles.
I do not wish the dreadnought to be totally blus as it will be to boring so elected to add some gold, like the eagles
and the exhausts. Thinking of painting it like a figure like you see in games workshop.
Been following this for a while, figured I may as well say nice work love the missile launcher idea- any idea what the others would have? Nerf guns customised to be bolters or bolt pistols, maybe?

I will look into that, My 8 yr old wants a bubble gun to fire at the crowd, As she is playing a assault marine I thought of a bubblegun plasma pistol or bolt pistol adapted
and a power sword would be good.

bubble gun plasma pistol would be amazing
no clue about sound effects though, not really my area
I went into town today and got four cans for 3.60 each, normally they are £8-£9 a can. As we all know spray paints are not cheap, I have got to spray the big dreadnought and 3 marine costumes.
So I have to keep the cost down. The colour I got below is maybe a bit dark as you can see, but will have to do as they do not do the correct colour. I will dry brush the costumes with a lighter blue
to give it some depth and some highlighting. If the colour is two dark it will be harder for people to see it in the carnival, so have to compromise between the correct ultramaine colour and what
works in a carnival.
Now the man in the games workshop gave his opinon on the colour of lights I need to use on my costume. I thought blue lights, but he said I should use yellow or red for ultramarines as I
already have the blue covered with the spray paint so I will take his advice.
Today I put some more black undercoat on the dreadnought and did some more work on the sponsons (weapon arms).
Now the back of the Dreadnought and the leg needs to be done.I like the back of this dreadnought in the pic below.
I will see what I can do to build it into my costume. I have some ideas, it will be interesting.
Six months and 28 days till my first carnival, South Brent on sat June 29th. I am on schedule to finish the 5 costumes on time at the moment : )..
I have not let the girlfriend see the build as I would like her to get the wow factor when I am done. There is a chap who has done the carnivals for many years
and has won everything and I am out to win this year, with this costume. My girlfriend does not think I can knock him off the top spot and get 1st place on most
of the carnivals we enter. I am hoping to do about 21 carnivals south devon and east devon and prove her wrong.
I have done some more work this morning, and here is the updated pictures for you.
On the back of the dreadnought I am thinking of putting this symbol.
Cutting the sections out of bolsa wood and painting them gold, so it gives a nice embossed effect.
I have started to do the Missile launcher sponson, This will beable to move up and down.
In the carnival I will not move it much, but the option is there if needed.
On a thought (unless you thought of this already) - cutting an indentation in the edge of the hole for the arms, that a 'locking pin' can slot into so that 'at rest' it can be locked in place, meaning you don't have hold the arms 'up' at all times, and will only move when released.
This is the Most Amazing thing EVER. I am so glad that i moved to Weston Super Mare a few months ago, as i will be close enough to see this in the "Ceramite" Loving the progress.

Would you please post a drawing so I can better understand your idea please.
As I am building the missile launcher sponson I thought I would show you the speakers in a bit more detail.
There will be eight on the missile launcher and 2 near the assault cannon on the other side of the costume.

Something like this:
I did my design assuming using PVC pipe and boards, but it gives an idea at any rate.
Its Saturday and more time spent on the project, Dry brushed the rear of the dreadnought and glazed it to bring the colours together more.
I think it looks dull and boring if its just one colour on a flat surface. We are not painting a wall here, but a machine of war that is in combat
in a dusty enviroment where explosions have been going off near by and falling buildings so its not going to be clean looking. There is only war.
It also gives it more life and is easier to see in the darkness of the carnival.
I also have been working on one of the insignias that will go onto the costume, Pictures below.
Almost looks like brushed metal with a blue gloss coat over it! which is to say, it looks excellent! I'm really enjoying the progress you're making and the speed you are moving with the project is amazing!
Commander Cain wrote: I hope you are not painting the whole thing with GW paint. That could become rather expensive!
No, the bulk is spray paint for the basecoat and matt emulsion for the drybrushing and any highlighting. the glaze is Gamesworkshop.Yes I do agree with you it would
cost alot to paint this all with just Gamesworkshop paints.
Tonight I got home from work had a bit to eat and started work on the dreadnought costume.
I Highlighted the rear of the dreadnought as it will be dark in places in the carnival and wanted
my costume to show the panels and angles of the dreadnought to its full protential, and also
going with the plan of making it look like a giant painted figure that we all know.
Secondly I carried on the work to the missile launcher sponson and fitted some of the parts
I made together.
Can you just remind me when and where this carnival is? I'm tempted to come down if it doesn't cost me too much just to see the finished result face to... sarcophagus
beef wrote: This is awsome, I saw your scale pics of the marines? Where did you get the size for the chapter master of the Iron snakes?
I got the scale from images on google, I was asking if those scales were correct? I think my dreadnought is half scale as my kids are about 4ft or so tall and a marine in the game is
7-8 ft tall.

Thank you to everyone following my progress for your help and kind words to date.
It was cold out today and had to look after my children, so I could not do anymore to the missile launcher.
I started on the 3D symbol for the sarcophagus. I went to the games workshop and asked them a question.
Q: What does a hellfire dreadnought have on the front centre section of its hull?
A: There are 3 main designs that G.W use on the basic dreadnoughts also there is a veteran symbol they have like the terminators have on their shoulder pads.
Also they said there is no such thing as a hellfire dreadnought , so someone must have made it up.
So since my character that I am playing is a veteran sergeant with terminator honours I thought I would do that one.

The tartan cloth is awesome Mastiff, and overall a great Dread there
Plugg, are you going to have any banners or other paraphanalia hanging off yours? (apologies if you've already covered this)
Yes, I am planning on having a about a 4ft x 18in banner on top to make it look taller and draw more attention at the carnival, this was covered earlier in the thread, please look above.
I have contacted gamesworkshop and asked them if I can have permision to use their music and help with any stickers etc in the carnival, They were not interested and just pointed me to thier IP page on the website. I dont think they understand what i am doing. This project will be seen by thousands on people, so its good advetisement for them. This will be the only walking costume of its type ever made to date as far as I know.
Hi all
Today I have been working on the symbol again and have now finished it, now it has been attached to the dreadnought.
Been looking at how I am going to do the eight speakers for the missile launcher also.

Yep, like trying to get blood from a stone or turn water into wine [/cliche]...
What music did you ask to use, wasn't aware they held any copyright on original music?

I think your correct on that. Its a third party who makes it for them.

For audio and such from the games you probably need to contact THQ / Relic for legal stuff.
Or just use it and no one will care. xD
This just gets better every time I check up on it! I think maybe the skull symbol is a little bit too low though? Maybe it'll look better to my eye when the vision slit is on there.
master of asgard wrote: This just gets better every time I check up on it! I think maybe the skull symbol is a little bit too low though? Maybe it'll look better to my eye when the vision slit is on there.
The view slit will be one of the last things to do to the main body because, I have to line up the slit with my vision when my legs are made so
the bottom of the main body looks right with my legs on. As I am 6ft tall not 8ft tall the view slit will be a bit lower than you see on the models.
This gives me the advantage of raising the main body so that it makes the dreadnought taller and more to scale with the space marines with me
in the carnival. So that answers the question of why the symbol is a bit lower. In this postion the symbol should be about 5ft high so people in the
carnival will see it at a good height. I plan to put red L.E.D lights in the eyes of the skull, giving a good effect at that height.

Today I carried on working with the cables and wanted to finish them. I also did the two longer ones at the bottom.
Some head way was made with the missile launcher as well.
First look at the cables, I thought, 'really?' Then I saw them on the body and was like, 'Oh. My. God.'
Ha ha , he of little faith . I worked out how wide the costume will be today, about 81 inches and 7-8ft high then add the 4ft banner on top = 11-12ft of pure terror.
I think people will notice me in the carnival. I am aiming to get first prize in my class at bridgwater.

Plugg, Emporers chosen.
Also I have just got my trailer to carry the dreadnought to the carnivals, happy days.
Well i think it will probably be the Bridgewater one i attend, as it seems to be the closest to Weston Super Mare (i am new to the area) So a little bit longer to wait, but time for you to perfect it all
This morning I set to work on the front section of the Missile launcher.
I will inset the speakers so the it forms a box with one opening so the sound only
come out of the front like a funnel. This makes the sound louder to people to front of me.
Its Sunday, I have to look after the children today. While they are watching a film I did some more work on the costume.
Silver has been Added to the missile launcher the same will do done to the Assault cannon as too bring the contrast
between the body and the legs. The legs will have more silver, this will make it more visable in the carnival. I think it would
look silly and not match If the body was only gold and the legs only silver so this is why we have the silver added.
Tonight I have been working on the Assault Cannon arm after sorting out my kids.
Next will be the hard part the motor and lining up the barrels etc.
Two speakers will be added here for added sound, so ten speakers in total.
Have a good weekend all.

Thanks for your kind words, this project will not drop off and will be completed.
Hello all and welcome to another update.
Today we are looking at the work I have done so far to the Assault cannon.
This has proven to be tricky but has been worth it.
We have 18 lights on the cannon, The cannon will revolve at about 60-80 rpms
and when this happens the lights on the side should form 2 lines around the barrels
and in the front when done will give a shooting affect when looking down the barrel
of the cannon. Later on in the cannon build this will be more apparent.
dang, well done.
As for the the timing on the sound,
use a laser sensor or a small switch for when the barrel passes the bar of the assault cannon (they are briefly lined up), cue sound from a small chip system. Or simple clock work if you dont want to program.

Hope you all had a happy weekend.
I have been doing some more to the Assault cannon and here are some pictures
of the progress, this has been taking sometime as you have to get it right.
Update 27/2/13
I have hurt my back and neck so I have been off work for a few days.
So I thought I would take a few photos of what I have been doing over the past few weeks.
I have made some parts for the Assault cannon and I have added them.
This is Partly painted and more is to be done.
Please let me know what you think.
Chaos prepare to meet your dimise

Amazing progress so far Paul, you're really nailing this project well and it looks fantastic! the end result will be nothing short of spectacular i'm sure!
That looks amazing. Its funny, when GW painted the 1:1 Rhino last year, the finish was so crappy overall, with just one, Ultramarine blue over the whole thing. You're work is so beautifully textured, it puts them to shame.

Means alot after all the work I have done. I was looking at going to gamesday this year. Not sure if games workshop would let me in with my costume though.
Does anyone know when gamesday is this year?
Gamesday is normally August / September? Gamesday was July last year, and there's nothing for GWUK Games Day up on the site. :( They let in people dressed as Space Marines and such, your only real issue will be fitting through doors, and the turnstyles. You'd probably have to take it in in pieces, then reattach everything and put it on once inside.
Time is ticking away and the days and months are passing us by.
Three months and about 24 days till first carnival at South Brent
The man in the model shop is looking at the finishing touches to the Assault cannon arm.
I now have to adapt the trailer so the costume can be transported without getting damaged.
I need to take the main body to Exmouth 8 miles away to get some lighting installed into it.
Also the legs have to be started, I am still in the planning stage for them. My first stop will be
to the cobblers. He will give me a funny look when I ask him to do something he has not done before, should be fun for him
Hey, Magnificent as always. Not sure if you've considered this, but maybe add some litanies and scrolls to the beast? Other things would be a terminator honour badge, a tyranid skull badge and/or similar. Just my 2 british pence.

I went to see the modelcentre man today and he has sorted out some of what I need for the motor
to drive the Assault cannon, here is a photo of the parts so far.
Wow, haven't been following you up till now. I always wondered what it would be like to dress up as a dreadnought or marine but was always unable too since I'm too short. Anyway, Your work is amazing but I'm concerned that its too heavy to move around in.

Welcome to the thread Ledabot, Last year I was the demon doing martial arts in the carnival with an 8 foot polearm. I have done martial arts for 30 years here is a link to my youtube channel so you can have a look if
you wish http://www.youtube.com/user/Paullugg?feature=mhee.
As I study Ninjutsu and the martial arts of japan, I use the carnival as a way of training. Last year i was a in your face demon as i have said this year I have gone for the ninja art of mind games, deception and fighting in armour.
Mind games, this is done though the quotes and messages of the dreadnought making people think and to learn the reactions from people in the crowd.
Deception, The look and the fear factor of the dreadnought, this is working here as people keep telling me this maybe to heavy to carry. The way I have built it makes it look that way and like a metal robot.
Fighting in armour, the samurai used to fight in armour, so carrying this dreadnought is part of my training.
Paul Lugg,
Ninja in dreadnought armour. Come to the carnival and make my day .

Sadly, the chances that I can come to your carnival are slim. I live on the other side of the world after all. Its good that it is movable, or else it wouldn't make a very good costume would it. It does appear deceivingly heavy like you say.
I have been adapting the trailer so it can take the main body to the get the lights installed.
Its taking time, also the Assault cannon has had its motor sorted and is in full working order.
I will make a video soon so you can see it running.
In this update I have been working on the trailer and the Assault cannon arm
The trailer is not finished yet, but I thought I would show you my progress.
Its saturday and I hope you all are have a good weekend.
Today I am working on the trailer again and looking at the size and scale of the costume
for the first time in more detail to see how I am progressing with the project.
Wow! That thing is looking amazing! The feet look a little small right now, but that's probably because they're just feet. Legs need to be spread a little further apart though. Still, looks great!
Bloody Hell Paul!! that is looking even better than I thought it would in daylight! :-) I think you've got it nearly perfect so far, I agree with Deunstephe though, when you build the legs, make sure your actual leg sits flush with the inside of the robotic one so they appear more spread out like the model does? keep it up it's shaping up like a winner!
This evening after work I had a look at leveling the two sponsons so they look right.
The height and how far they are forward or back is important or they will look funny..
The dreadnought is 7foot 1inch wide as you look at it.
As its in the garage I cannot do a front view for you but it gives you the idea.
what do you think of the scale and look? I think it look about right.
Good lord Mr Lugg sir, that is awesome, what an amazing beast it is turning into, and so quickly as well... Would love to see a full on shot from the front if you can mange it it. Hat's off to you good sir...
Such epicness! I did have quite a chuckle seeing you wearing that giant torso with your legs sticking out underneath it. How heavy is that beast to wear?
Commander Cain wrote: Such epicness! I did have quite a chuckle seeing you wearing that giant torso with your legs sticking out underneath it. How heavy is that beast to wear?
Its not that heavy, I can handle it. I made it in mind to look like a heavy scary metal monster that you would not want to meet across the battlefield, this dream is coming true in front of mine and your eyes.
I have enjoyed showing you kind people my project and would like to thank you all for your support.
Not had it on with the sponsons yet though. The main part I need to do when the weapon arms are on is to balance the costume
so its easier to carry. I will build a back and shoulder harness so its easy to carry as its a 3 mile walk at Bridgwater. In the picture of me in the main body I was holding it in place.
When the costume is finished I will do a teaser video for youtube.
I have also put the Assault cannon video I made on the warhammer world facebook page.
I Also spoke to The Games workshop manager in Exeter store and asked if I could come to gamesday with them this year. I hear there is a costume contest, is this correct?
Thanks again
Paul

I will try and get it out soon and do a front shot, for that i need a hand to carry it, as its bulky now. Its a metal hulk.
This is just so darn cool! I'm not sure if you'd ever thought about thematic music to play from the speakers while you're not firing missiles and stuff, but this might work well for you: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BG42F-5AVOE
Ovion's answer is good. It's coming along swimingly!
Yes they do have a costume contest at GD (at the least the couple I've seen). And I would have to believe you would win. There are some good Space Marines, IG, Sisters of Battle, but I really don't think anybody has produced a dread costume. I think you would win hands down (just on what I've seen already)
I have been online looking and buying bits for the kids scout costume.
Just got all this stuff in the post so has not been adapted yet, But is
A good start to the costume.
Update Its sunday, I have been feeling unwell these past few days and now have had the chance
to make the collars that join the main body to the weapon sponsons. More to do to them
but they are holding the weapons in place so I can let you see a picture of the progress
as promised.
Great work Paul. I though this was a crazy idea when I first heard it, but you have had the brilliance to pull it off, and he skill to do a fantastic job. Will next years project be a dreadknight?

I would like to ask the forum for a bit of advice please.
I am looking for the correct font if there is one for the ULTRA writing
that is on A Dreadnoughts left leg Does anyone know it please? The writing will be white.
On the subject of purity seals, Do you have any writing that I can copy onto my seals that I will make from green stuff later on into the build please?
I have heard that this writing is in Latin is that correct inmygravenimage?

Dreadknight now that is a task. Has anyone in the world built one yet?
Wonderful costume so glad to see you pulling it of, the final product is going to be amazing im sure its also great to see your kids involved with all this, makes it seem more special to me best of luck
I have found out that Games day UK is on 29th September this year and all being well I will attend with the Dreadnought, is anyone from here going aswell?
Where precisely would you place a seal on the Dreadnought? Is there a set out place to put them on Dreadnought or is it just random where you want just so it looks right or good?

Thank you for your kind comment, I have until June 29th to complete this Dreadnought and a scout costume for one of the kids. I am hoping to do two more scout costumes just after that date.
From June 29th I will put up any info I have on the carnivals and the positions that I come in the carnival and results here also.
You Sir keep bringing the skill. I have just started playing around with lights in my models. You are fielding full scale models with Nuclear power supplies in them to run all those lights . The costume is looking excellent keep it up.
Nice to see so much dedication put into to such an endavour. Please promise us all something...when the dreadnought is finished, walk into WHW and take pictures of the people's faces when they see you...must be a blast to see something like that walking around.

Great work, take care and i hope you win.
I cannot walk into H.M.V, I would never fit though the door.
Serious leg armour going on there. Can't help but think it could be a mighty uncomfortable stance you'll have to adopt when the other leg is also encased. I expect though that you'll have a real cool looking walk / shuffle which will give the impression of a massively heavy, lumbering machine...
Oh, and the servo arm and backpack is looky great...

You got the idea Ruglud, there are no flies on you mate.
More of the kids costumes came today, they are still in there raw form.
Adaptions need to be done for there scout costumes.
As the carnivals are fast apon us I took the girls down the park to practice there army movements/routne for the carnival.
The girls will do cover tactics as they move though the carnival scouting out the enemy, they Enjoyed themselves in the process
and the dreadnought is there for support and leadership.
I have been looking on the internet for options for the top centre of the dreadnought.
I know there are now 6th edition rules.
What options does a Ultramarine dreadnought have in the 6th edition rules?
The reason why I ask is because I would like this dreadnought to be correct and what a table top player
would be able to field in a game.

An Ultramarine dreadnought has a searchlight and a smoke launcher. Besides weapon swaps and possible extra armor upgrades, that is your gear. The grapple thing and extra missiles are for other types or chapters' dreads.
Imperial smoke launchers look like 3 beer cans set in an arced row. The one pictured is a chaos version.
