As I've been looking around this year for Miniature sales.
I saw that Privateer Press is having a sale for Black Friday & Cyber Monday. [ http://privateerpress.com/black-friday-and-cyber-monday-sales (Please Remove if not allowed)
I haven't seen anything about any other companies having such sales this year, unless I haven't been looking hard enough.
I have searched the forums, and haven't found anything other than the Privateer Press for this year, 2013.

Not really :-\ Wyrd's postage has always been kind of high even here in the US, and the changes to shipping costs earlier in the year kind of screwed it up even more, though they are not alone with shipping woes.
Though if you buy enough, it might not seem like all that much.

The only things you want to order directly from Wyrd are "exclusive" or limited edition stuff. Otherwise, use a distributor in the UK. Also, check eBay to see if price/shipping of auctions are cheaper than what Wyrd offers.

Truthfully England isn't the bad one to ship to Australia is cost wise and my personal take is if I make 5% on an international then that's more then I had. Oh and to stay on topic I believe the Warstore is having their annual sale as well. Usually it's an additional 5% to their discount.

I wouldn't expect it. MAYBE on the Warfare books, but the backstock of minis, iirc, was sold to Battlefront, as a way of keeping continuity of products.

I'd steer clear of them until they get thir act straight. I've seen a lot of complaints lately about armorcast with orders taking months to arrive for stuff listed as in stock and no communication co Inge out o them by email or website. Oh man, I always wanted the big vallejo set. I recently picked up badger's Minitare line from amazon ridicucheap though so I'm gonna be working with that for some time.
The MM KoW/Warpath deals are great! Just be sure to double check them and make sure they're actually in stock. I was ogling the enforcers but they seem to be out of a lot of those. I guess they'd still let you order them at that price? I didn't try.

i can't even remember what i bought... the site was so slow when it launched it was taking minutes between pages and over 5 minutes for it to check out and charge my card.... i think two Corp one player sets (the army was sold out already), the Veery Myn army and either one or two of the Veer Myn one player sets (since they had that other unit in it that's not in the army set).
Honestly the Battle Systems kickstarter made me want Veer-Myn and Corp a lot, and I'm going to order those clear acrylic bases too... haha.
I may go back and order a few more corp Ranger sets because they're pretty cool looking, and maybe some more Veer-myn infantry sets (I honestly love the sculpts, no idea why they get so much hate)

Do the sets that you ordered come with veterans? The veteran and ranger boxes come with 3x the special weapon sprues (1 each of 3 kinds of gun) and the normal marines boxes only come with 1x of the sprue. Its more important if you are looking into using them for pretend IG because as it stands the corporation only has one non-heavy squad upgrade and its a tactical flame unit. The rangers are awesome btw, they have cooler guns, beefier shoulders, neat backpacks and cooler ( imo) helmets (like my avatar). If you end up painting scores of marines, its nice to break them up wit the similar, yet different, rangers.
I ordered the corporation Major General cause he's awesome looking (but he may become a traitorous rebs commander for deadzone ), a suppression team of enforcers (pretty sure they still come with the rifles too) to work out color schemes before deadzone, and the flamer and heavy weapon 5-man metal forge father teams to split up and buff up my current forge fathers to 4x steel warrior sections with flamer and heavy. Damn the bargains!

the one player sets, which I got two of, each have 10 marines, 10 rangers, and 3 heavy weapon teams. I won't use 'em as IG - I already have an Eldar army that doesn't get played much - but as just generic sci fi soldiers.
The veteran set is 8 "normal" marines plus a heavy team, right? So there's really no reason to get more Veterans if I already have 20 normal marines and 6 weapons teams... but I might want to get more Rangers then?

In general, the rangers are the coolest, although they cost a wee bit more than the marines. For warpath, I like taking 5 man ranger teams with 2 flamers its the most efficient way to get those (if not the most durable). If I were going to make a warpath list I would probably use marine sections to unlock vehicles/characters, and rangers to do some infantry hunting. Vets are kind of in a weird place, they can have a weapon team but that gives them long range invalidating their rifles. I could see a 5 man squad with burst laser team and a flamer in hard cover somewhere in the middle of the board as area denial... but yeah. And you could already do that 4x if you wanted so you likely don't need more. More rangers? Maybe. Depends on how much you like them. I think they look almost 2x as cool as marines, so I definitely won't tell you no The vet box is the one that comes with 8 normal marines + 2 kneeling guys one with an 'at-ease' rifle and some binoculars, the other with a tripod burst/laser/cannon (2 barrel options). Both the vet box and rangers box come with 3x special weapon sprues, although you have to do some not-insignificant choppery to use the special weapons at all

The Kingdom of Avalon make fantastic Brettonians - I've seen them used as a Mordheim gang - really characterful models. Some of them have mutations (mainly the heroes) but 4 out of 5 in the starter box and all three in the starter add on are untainted. Highly recommended. Empire of Jade are good eastern themed models, though not the best I've seen, and Khaliman republic are great if you like cat people (putting out fires). I've never seen the game played anywhere!

That was a fun sale. Got in early enough when there were still good things available.
Picked up a few games to play with the kids, a confrontation box, enough Arcane Legions stuff to play all three sides, a few boxes of Warpath stuff for gifts, and of course that 5 dollar Chaotic/ Darkworld game.
I guess I can play Chaotic DarkWorld with the kids until my 25th Heroquest shows up. Darkworld always played second fiddle to Heroquest back in the day, but it should be a good primer for dungeoncrawling board games.

Just got myself an AT-43 Dotch yaga walker, I've always had my eye on one just because they look so cool!
Also got some Dust Tactics steel guards snipers, I probably can't use them as a proxy for anything in my IG but I had to get them, they just look soooo bad ass.
I would have bought some of that Mantic stuff if I didn't already have 30 marines 10 rangers and 3 weapon teams to add to my IG! Seriously when you have marines mixed in with guardsmen its almost impossible to tell them apart with the same paintjob.

In most cases the stuff that is put on sale is not really the stuff you want. For example, the big box stores have sales on PS3. This would be fine if it were 2006. But in 2013 we are looking for other things. It is very much the same in miniature land. The vast majority of stuff that is on sale are dead or unpopular games. One big store had AT 43 stuff. If that is what you are looking for, then great.
This being said, I saw a handful of deals on Warmachine, Malifaux, and Infinity. Most were gone soon after they were posted.

To be fair... I did call a friend who had happened to own/play Arcane Legions, and I immediately felt justified in an impulse purchase.
A friend and I, and the wife threw a total of $120 at the game, and have hundreds of half-way decent little minis, and by all accounts, a very fun, medium-weight little game that scratches a mass-battles itch. For essentially a night at the movies and dinner, we'll have a fun game-night, and some laughs perhaps... maybe even discover an under-appreciated game.

Well, mostly I am buying them to have something to do while watching this. KoW will be an added bonus.
Since the majority of my not-Chinese Fantasy army are based on converted WGF Rising Sun figures (going for an Initiate Brother vibe) and some Flying General stuff, the Arcane legions minis will probably be a bit short. I guess they'll work as conscripted peasants or members of a recently-'civilized' neighboring ethnicity forced to fight for the Empire.
Also picked up an Aliens clix queen, some Confrontation, and some Star Trek minis, so perhaps it was a good day to buy. Automatically Appended Next Post: Is it just me, or does the War Store's Black Friday section seem pretty lackluster?

No, but that's why I've sworn off of GW in general, I couldn't afford to make a new army so all of the enthusiasm I get from reading a new codex with fancy new units and rules is vaguely pointless.
They stopped carrying GW bits but I'll be honest I mostly went to eBay sellers for those anyway. Some of their overstock/clearance stuff is pretty good in the 50% off range but its usually more obscure stuff you'd have to just happen to want. Project pandora and dwarf kings hold were both half price (plus black friday atm of course) but they were that before now too. And they've some other stuff I'm not familliar with cheap, but it didn't look too appealing.

We're singing from the same hymnal. I haven't bought any GW stuff since Grey Knights...and I barely went for them. No, it doesn't look too appealing. At least, not for TWS's prices. If TWS had thrown some of their older, obvious losers from Firestorm Armada or Tannhauser or whatever into the deep discount bin, they might have had something. If they had reduced some of the Infinity or Mercs models to $3 or less, that might have brought in a few more customers. Instead, they listed a bunch of the usual suspects for roughly the usual prices. I'm not even sure if they had anything in their Black Friday section this year that they didn't have there last year.
Anyway, I didn't mean to be so negative. I just thought it was odd that Neal seems to have lost his edge.

I snagged a few things from TWS - very good prices on a few Warlord items, such as a Panther and the decal sheets, plus the random bolt action vehicle... but yeah I got so many good deals from MM I actually made two large orders (first one a few minutes after the sale went live for a boatload of Mantic stuff, and then later on in the day for more stuff that I was on the fence about and just pulled the trigger anyway). Now I'm contemplating a WGF order to get a some Dreamforge stuff...
I'm also considering hitting MM again and getting a Karman army as my group does still play AT-43 and I've got UNA and Therian forces currently.

Last year FRPGames had an "end of the world" year end clearance when they took an extra 50% off the clearance price. Anyone know if they do something like this every year, or if it was a one off?

They have only done it two of the last four years IIRC... having done it last year, they might not do it again. They also took a lot of flak because they were over a month behind on shipping in some cases.

Aww, that's a shame. I ended up getting into 2 new Malifaux factions because I just couldnt pass up some of those deals. Oh well, better luck next year.

I ordered twice last year during the sale and got my stuff within 5-7 business days each time but I could see an issue if their "in stock" system was derping on certain items (conjecture on my part). My only issue is that their shipping costs were a bit inflated compared to other stores and even my own shipping costs (likely higher than them). Charging $4 more than a flat rate small box when what I ordered easily fits in one raised an eyebrow. I contacted them and they dropped it $1... that's something I guess.

Yeah. its one reason I dont often order from them unless theres a sale. Their shipping can be all over the place. I was going to order a few packs of Micro Arts bases and the shipping would have been over $6, which is just crazy.

I received both of my Miniature Market orders, and there were no errors. I don't get to play with my minis until the 25th, but I did get to "check" that everything "was there".
I am so glad I went for all those $3 and $4 Arcane Legions and Alkemy kits. I'll probably never play the games, but I will have sooooooooo many sword pew-pews. They also look like they will be fun to dip. Also, the Confrontation minis look really good now that I'm over the whole prepaint thing. I feel like I pledged in the fastest kickstarter ever!

I regret not going as crazy on Miniature Market's sale as I did. Sure, I got a bunch of stuff... but I ended up getting nothing to actually paint!
Everything was prepainted I ended up getting for myself- I did get a few unpainted goodies for my cousin, but there was an empty space in my painting spot so I had to go to my FLGS to stock up on new things to clog up my desk.
Going to go try my Darkworld/ Chaotic amalgamation at school today, along with a few other board games I picked up cheap. Should be fun.
Then I think I'll be heading back to the FLGS to buy more stuff to paint, since school gets out today, and that is something most certainly worth celebrating!

Honestly... I didn't think of them when I wrote that. In my mind they didn't "count" as minis to paint. I don't know why either. Maybe they were more toy- like than all my other toy soldiers.
Then again, my eyes start to cross when I see how many figures are in those boxes and I imagine trying to get paint to all of them. That's probably why I'm more fond of smaller skirmish games- keeps my vision straight!

(Where I'd hopefully have known about the sale sooner, and gotten to it before more of the good stuff was gone). Yep! The $145 undead legion looks great, free shipping over $75. 149 miniatures. Not as good as some KS pledges I have, but darn good for online, and looks like a good set for beginners.
Spent *enough* holiday money this year, but if they have something that good next year, it's that and a Crazy Box and fewer KS. (: Some Crazy Box reviews said no bases come with them, so time to start corking!

Probably like how they put 'under new management' on the sign for a fast food chain restaurant that's had sucky service or bad practices lately. It likely isn't a substantial change at all, but might give someone on the fence a push to buy it, or get another in hopes of different contents. I'd be interested if I *knew* i could get some fantasy orcs or a different dreadball mvp than the void sirens guard again.
