Very nice! Had a quick shufty at the rules as well, and I'm liking the Shock Pulse rule...

Might just have to pick one of these up for the Meks to tinker with...hmmmm.

=I= and retinue looks stunning.
The Valdor? More of the new Flash Gordon Land of Ming vibe that Forgeworld seems to be developing. Looks like a giant ray gun on treads. (Not that there's anything wrong with that.)

I'd be tempted to convert into a Tank Girlesque non-Chaotic renegade Tank, with 'Feeling Inadquate?' painted on the Barrell.

No real reason why, I just like wasting my money on daft ideas!

Eugh that's one ugly tank with some horrid rules.
The shock pulse is cute but the overall rules are just lame.

As a seige cannon that design might work, but for zzapping tanks? Seems unlikely!
Nice detailing on the gubbins at the back though.

Love Rex, and though I don't play IG (I'm straight), I love that tank. Very 50's.

Definitely getting Rex.

Bah, I just put paint on the Vulcan Mecharius I bought about a month ago... I totally would have bought both Rex and the new tank if they were out sooner... may have to send another order in, because the Valdor is all kinds of funky sci-fi and looks like a blast to work on.

Hey, hundreds of German tank commanders in WWII managed it so 38,000 years in the future, you'd think that they might have learnt something.

I love the tank, the rules are shamefully underpowered (for an extra 100 pts, you can get a Shadowsword), but it's not entirely unpossible FW will change them somehow (it's been known to happen). Personally, I'd drop it by at least 50 points (the Defender is 315, and this vehicle is worse a lot of the time, and simply lacks the damage output) But man, that's one gorgeous design.

Turns out Hector Rex is £27.20, which is less than many people thought it'd be (IIRC, my guess was £35). It's very much in the ballpark with the DK Quartermaster, a similar set of 1 guy plus three acolytes.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

I love the new tank. It has a silly single sponson... but I love it. I would seriously consider buying that. The Inquisitor and his guys aren't half bad either.

It's FW. Writing rules that are underpowered and overcosted is completely normal for them.

No, I'd say this one's an exceptional case. It's quite literally the worst superheavy vehicle anyone has ever written stats for, way below FW's normal unimpressive standard. As-is, it's worth maybe 250 points, if that.

I'd say a Land Raider would carve this thing up for breakfast without breaking a sweat. It's worth less than a Land Raider (much like all the Macharius and Malcador variants).

At least my Defender has the advantage of being immensely fun to use, and allowing me to roll 9-10 more dice per a shooting phase. The Valdor has nothing. Literally nothing, except an unreliable stun effect linked to a staggeringly inaccurate weapon.

I think FW secretly feels guilty of being so pro-IG with their models, and the rules are their way of atonement. But yeah, as it is now, I'd say the Valdor is overcosted at any price. The rules are just that awful.

I rather like the new tank...

But the retinue is a real letdown for me.

GW's main line retinue figures are way better than these!

NOW I am surprised and a little shocked...

In physics and chemistry, wave–particle duality is the concept that all matter and energy exhibits both wave-like and particle-like properties. A central concept of quantum mechanics, duality addresses the inadequacy of classical concepts like "particle" and "wave" in fully describing the behaviour of small-scale objects. Various interpretations of quantum mechanics attempt to explain this ostensible paradox.

Technically neutron laser can work as a term, sort of. Kinda. In some senses.

I wouldn't say that the macharius and malcadors are all weak and overcosted. A few of the variants are pretty frightening in my opinion for what they cost. This thing though needs to drop to maybe 280-300 to be at all reasonable. How often do the "experimental" rules get changed in the final release?

That's not a bad deal for Rex and retinue with current exchange rates.
