Hi guys Wouldnt it be cool to have one thread where all the different Stormraven designs were posted ?
I am gonna look around this site for different models, but if you guys have found pictures of Stormravens please post them here and if possible with a link too.

My own Stormraven looks like this (I know.. its blue.. but thats just how my succesor chapter looks)

patzgcrux´s Awesome Valkyrie conversion:
http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/284788.page#1421538

And patzgcrux even more awesome Landraider/valkyrie blend which was an inspiration to me as I made my bird
http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/287616.page

zeonicman´s Stormraven seems to be a bit mor do it yourself with lots and lots of plasticard and greenstuff
http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/285315.page#1426870

CoolGuysWhoSitAtHome has made their own VERY big Stormraven it can be found here in a youtube video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJ8szRwYRw8&feature=related

Calvhalla has made another design based og the redeemer and the valkyrie

drkshmn3984 has made his model from a Valkyrie and I think a Rhino

Forteller,s beautiful version of the Stormraven

phairsto's menacing Raven
http://s923.photobucket.com/albums/ad76/phairsto/Flesh%20tearers/?action=view¤t=stormraven004-1.jpg

I have also found this model.. I am quite sure it is one of you guys who have made it.. but I cant find the post.
In my opinion one of the most beautiful designs.. not my kind of raven but VERY well made

Somewhere else on the net i found this bird in the making.. a bit simpler approach, But I bet the finished model will be great

Well thats what I have found so far.. I hope you guys can find more amazing models that just beggs to be shown here

Great idea ... a showcase thread for all the fantastic Storm Raven ideas.

BTW, can anyone enlighten me on the armament options as I begin to try to build my own version ?

Sadly, I'm in the northeast US where there are no conveniently accessible GW stores.

But, Breotan kindly answered my question here :

I find myself really curious as to what kit that last model is, too sleek and round looking to be GW.

and yet I like the last one most. All Valk/landraider concepts look the same, and every one of them is way too bulky, to be my favorite. And remind me of garbage truck, that i see every wednesday.

I've been staring at that myself and I think it might be the nose / canopy from a GI Joe (or Avatar?) toy flyer with plasticard running from it to the tail wing resting on a GW Rhino.

When I get home I'll post some updates on my version. The outside is ready to be primed but I'm still working on the interior [seats, control panel ] Looks a LOT better than those early pics! lol

Out of all of these variants, I feel the ones with the Land Raider front ends probably evoke the image of an actual Thunderhawk Drop Ship the best, so I imagine they're more in line with what we can expect from GW should they ever choose to grace us with a model.

@ Brother Paen:
That's what a Storm Raven should look like. Obviously similar to the T-Hawk, none of this bastardized Valkyrie stuff. I'm interested to know how you went about making these.

Really? I can't help but seeing a landraider with a hull built over the back. Paen please don't take this as a slide against your model you've done more than I have, it's just IMHO

No offense taken, It IS only aLR with the tracks removed and a hull built onto it from foamcore. I did it it this way to utilize existing weapon mounts, assault ramp, and keep an STC feel to it. STC is also why I tried to keep Valk parts off of it, aside from the engines, and hell/bloodstrikemissiles . I also wanted to ensure it had that minit-hawk feel so I used wing and tail dimensions from the Imperial armor tech drawings for their scale.
Now it took 1crusader to build. The valk engines and missiles are spareparts I had. in fact one of the ships started out as a looted LR.

Here are the templates / shapes I used. You'll have to make front and rear end caps on the hull. Cover the bottom of the hull with cardboard, following the back of the LR down along the track guide

Awesome! It may be foamcore, but it's a great starting point. It's easy to add details with plasticard and bits.

I was taking a break from modeling for awhile but my adhd riddled brother has started a blood angel army now and asked or pleaded with me to give the stormraven a go.

Well he is the start of my attempt. I have only done orky stuff so not orkin it up is a bit hard.

Here is an update on my Stormraven.

Ignore the red stars on the wings and things. I may have cannibalized a MiG to make parts of this.
