Exactly as topic describes, removing Table top rules from the reasons why, more fluff based
I think i would be Ghazghkull Thraka, as big if not bigger than a dreadnought/primarch (don't think tabletop perspective in fluff he is HUGE) able to summon more power to his finger tips than any Chapter or imperial bastion in existence, just one of the toughest foot sloggin blokes around.
Not to mention being beloved by 2 gods & live for nothing but absolute WAAAAGH! or war, whatever
No Horus heresy Characters that are Dead as well etc
in anycase would love to see peoples loved chars and reasons ;p

You might not agree, but I happen to think Blood angel are quite a bargain, for the quality of the miniatures. I've never seen a marine kit better than the sanguinary Guard. Those have to be some of the best models they make.

Failing that...Captain Lysander he is one kick-ass bloke, maybe not as hard as Ghazgkull but I'd feel quite safe with that storm shield and fist of dorn hehehe.

One of the ones I made up for my Dark Heresy roleplays.
Either that or a female Marneus Calgar (Marnaea?), to piss off Marine players AND ultramarine haters at the same time.

Hmm.. a hard one. Bjorn the Fell-Handed, perhaps, cause he's been around awhile.
Unfortunately, all these hardcase kick-ass MEQ/ork special characters dunno how to have fun (except maybe the ork ones, but they have different ideas of "fun" to us, methinks. Well, most of us anyway ).
Well, fluff wise, probably Pedro Kantor. I play Crimson Fists, and Pedro is kick-ass fluffwise, and has the best special character artwork going for him as far as the SM codex is concerned.
Or maybe Ahriman, because he wields lots of fun powers, can fight his way out of a paper bag (looking at you, SM libbys). Madness aside, he's a pretty good choice.
Then again, I recall them making rules for Angron in a WD..
I'm just gonna step outta this one - too much choice!

Because he rides his steed Alean, Nuadhu is the Eldar version of a Dreadnought. I hope they bring him back in the next codex.
Of course they will! Games workshop are FAR too useless to think of another special character to put in instead of him because armies are getting 5-9 special characters or so nowadays.
