So, I know a while ago, there was a massive (complaint-fest) discussion about cheating and how to deal with it.

I've found some extra fun new problems to look at.

I was watching a game 16 yo vs. 13.

the 13 yo. was rolling well, no cheating, borrowing my dice (hence why I was watching) and the other one says "hey, I left my codex at the table, can you get it for me."

so then the 16 year old starts rolling while he's gone, and changes all the ones to 3,4,5,6's.

I'm looking at this in disbeleif and I tell him he'll need to re-roll them, and he acts like I've just commited a haneous crime.

He refused, and they ended up canceling the game. for what was basically 5 terminators hitting 4 1's. (which isn't enough to cheat over)

then, later, I play the same kid, and just as I roll, he banges the table, so I have to bend down to get dice that rolled off the table. when I get up, he's changing the results of the dice.

has anyone ever had such a freakishly bad cheater? I mean, in a 500 POINT GAME?

Kind of makes you want to stick all of his minis in an oven for 10 minutes on 450. Seriously, bad show. At 16 years old, he is nothing if not TFG in the making.

I was playing a 10 year old , he playded Ultra marines and then said ALL his models becuase there Ultra marines are imune to instant death and inflicteded instant death , when i told him he was lying and cheating , he starteded crying , gone over to one of the shop assitants and said i was hitting him. The staff told him to stop lying and cheating and he starteded swareing and was told to get out . He was never seen in store .

When they try that say that because they're Ultramarines they have to sit on their ship waiting for their leader to finish writing a book, thus you win automatically.

Fortunately for me, and unfortunately for the thread, I haven't come across any cheaters yet.

Well, back before I started playing the game, I played WHFB. Right when I first started playing I played Orcs and Gobbos, we played a 1000pt battle and I brought an Orc Warboss. Oopsie.

Hmm this remindes me of what happend today: my friend made a guy and said he was immune to anything lower than a krack missile and could destroy a valkyrie or or anything lower in one and was immune to instant death i said he was cheating but he said i was cheating and we were playing an apocalypse battle (Which we wern't) and would never let me come to the club again!

I gave a demo to two kids with my CSM models who were assembling their first models and one of them kept lying about his rolls. He also had horrible tactics

He made the Berzerkers stay back and fire while his CSMs charged. I gave him good unit descriptions and he had read some of the fluff too so he knew what was going on. It was just weird. I've recently learned to ways to cheat when throwing dice so I might have some good stories to post up here soon

Thankfully I don't play tourneys anymore. TFG best watch his back though!

I dont have any such reports of such obvious cheating, but just had to post in total disbelief someone would change the dice score in front of someone then say that they didnt when they know damn well fine they saw them do it. crazy!.

haha man that made me laugh! To think some people don't like playing against early teens or kids! But a 16 year old messing with a 10 year!? What a jerk! I play with my friend alot for fun and we both dont cheat, just laid back and like playing no all out win attitudes.

I once killed an entire battle company in the first round of shooting. It was me my 1st and elements of 10th agianst an entire 2 compaines. I killed one off. next turn he brings back the entire battle company back. Apparently he said renforcements gave him all of his forces back. I scratched my head read it and it so read Choose one Squad......
WtF?

Another time i was facing an Orc Player and he a Gaint Squigoth on the table. I shoot it with 10 lascannons all of them hit and wound. And he says Oh i have an armor save!
Is that cheating? He missed 8. And it still lived.

I was meant to be having a 1500 pts game against a cocky friend of mine, he claims he's unbeatable. It was my Chaos vs his Eldar, I was sure he was using a absurd amount of points so I asked him if I can look at his army list. He then stutters and produces one, turns out he was like 800 points over. So I played him once he took off the points and won.

Considering that Lascannons are AP2, yes it is cheating.

I would've waited until he rolled on something again, then used his head to beat the table and change his dice rolls. I've never encountered anything that bad, most of my issues come form people using terrible math, though I did have a guy try to tell me Trygons were BS 4 lol

Ive had guys manipulate scatter dice on deepstikes like its cool, people play lists that were like 50pts over, and people give themselves +1 to BS, or T "accidentally", but I've never had someone try to pull that crap. Well done on confronting him, id take it so far as to boycot him from the club or store.....then go to his home and feed him his models. Bring the 10 year old too just to teach him how to deal with cheaters. lol

Two guys comes to mind. One we all call "Cheater Bob". In one game he fired 3-4 seeker missles from his devilfish. He would also change the wargear of his models if they needed something at the time.

Another guy should be called Cheater Terry, because he cheats worst than Bob. In one game he claimed that LeMartes allows the Death Company to ignore the Rage rule. I had warned his opponent ahead of time that that was not the case. After a few mins of looking he conceeded the rule as a "oops wrong edition". The next week he tried the same exact thing agaisnt a different opponent while me and the first guy were watching. He tried the same "oops wrong edition" and we both busted him on it. Told him this was covered last week, and he is out right cheating.

I have had 2 cases of cheating:

First, in my second game ever, I was against Orks at 800 pts. Every turn he ran his boyz 6 inches instead of shotting. Only after the game did I realize he had to roll! Next time I went to the store I asked about him and every one who had played him knew he cheated. I am 16 and he was 20-something so I had assumed he would not be that imature.

Another time my opponet would roll all his die in the base of a building where I could not see well and try to tell me the results. And again, he was older than me.

The only thing I have ran into is one guy not messuring the scatter right.

We all know that when you roll the scatter and its an arrow if your looking at it from across the table it can look off.

So I started rolling the scatter RIGHT next to were the plate was going and he would always try and messure the angle wrong if it was in his favor. Ether when i was shooting one he would have ot go away from his units or if he was shooting one he would messure it a little off to hit more of my units. Now I can understand a mess up once or twice. But he does it EVERYTIME. Needless to say I dont play with that guy anymore.

Thats the only cheating I have ever seen as far as my games go.

Oh! also when he would roll his scatter he always made it a point to roll it as far away from the target as possible. So he could fudge the angel even more.

So I've got a story, which is also why I don't game at my local GW. It was my second tourny, a 3 game, 750 point, weekend session. No prize money, no entry fees, just a good place to meet and game. Competing in the tourny was Ray, a former employee who introduced me to the hobby. Infact my first game was against his girlfriend and her third edition Space Wolves. This was like my 5th real game, so I lost horribly. Had a blast though.

My next game was against a father I played against in my first tourny. It was a doubles tourny and he played SW/Ultras with his son. I was looking forward to a good game until he plopped down 2 Landraiders. At 750 points. So, I lost again.

I know, it sucks but there's been no cheating yet. Here's where it gets relevant. My third game was against Ray himself. He was running a Vulcan list with a Landraider Redeemer. At 750 points. Now, there was a Tactical Squad without a transport that was just hanging around on the backfield so I ran it down with my Chaos Biker Lord. The Landraider unloads its contents and counter assaults me. He wins in the first round, but now his Marines are exposed to my Obliterators in this nice clumb. He rolls a 3 for consoldiation and gets Vulcan and his boys back in front of the Redeemer. "You can embark when you're within 2" of the entrance." (You can only embark or disembark in the movement phase, and this was the Assault Phase.) I didn't think so, but I certainly wasn't confident enough to challenge him. Later in the same game my Rhino tank shocked his pack of Marines, who failed their leadership and fled. He used And They Shall Know No Fear as an excuess to attempt to rally after their fall back move, which they succeeded and prompt assaulted the Rhino, pelting it to death with kraks. These were not rules he didn't know, I would come to learn.

I've never encountered cheats, only people who try to bend the rules.

There is one kid at the store who tries using his baneblade in every battle, there is my brother and his BA playing friends who love using as may deep-striking landraiders as possible by fielding an unpainted (BT) LR crusader as dedicated transport to BA.

when i first started WHFB i played orcs and goblins i didnt cheat but made a big mistake of thinking every unit champion was a big boss. so my army was really off since i had spent points on 6-7 big bosses since that was how many units i had. half way throught the game the other player caught on and explained, nicely, what i was doing wrong, after that i got a very very big beating on the board.

never made that mistake again haha.

i have never really played cheaters, i have played people who argue on the basis of the rules, such as, how can my drednough even be hit by that IG soldier since my dred is so big. and things like that which has nothing to do with rules.

i have watched a tortie where a warmonger cheater against a friend's friend's ork army. the ork army destoryed the warmonger, but he kept saying he had men in transports which we all knew those men were dead. the ork player let him get away with this, and ended up killing all the extra men haha, it was a good game.

Anyone who would try to cheat by rolling an extra die, then getting rid of the lowest, I take the highest if it's beneficial to them to get high, and vice versa. Never faced a cheater yet, however.

Ok so here's my own stupidity. I had a new set of dice, the GW ones where the one is the Imperial Eagle. I'd never used them and tbh hadn't looked at them at all. My mistake was that I assumed the Imperial Eagle was a 6 not a one. After several turns using them, where I had been doing surprisingly well, it was pointed out to me there were indeed sides with 6's on them.

Not only very embarrassing but I do consider having cheated my opponent regardless of intent. Needless to say I made my apologies on my error and never use those dice any longer.
