I very rarely ever see catachans on the tabletop. I think I've seen them once in the last couple months... I've noticed they're always cheaper than cadians in hobby shops, which leads me to believe no one wants them :3
I picked cadians too, mainly because they look like they actually wear armor
Not trying to offend anyone who actually has a catachan army,by the way.

Honestly, I've got enough cadian bits lying around to make a catachan HWT look cadian. The set of three is 25$ dollars at my FLGS :3
The models are pretty gakky, I agree. :3

Honestly, I've had more luck finding Flat-Earth Atheists then I've had trying to find someone who likes the current Catachan models.
But go for the HWT, only 25 for 3?
I do believe that merits a Daaaaaaayum.

I don't see why everyone hates them, I think if they had cooler models they would be awesome, but thats just because I like how they play. I had an army of them that I'm selling because I just coulden't get into IG.
I have to say though the Catachan Snipers one of my favorte models.

I've never seen an army of Catchans and I've played 5 different Cadian armies at my FLGS. The models are just not as good, and I prefer the "normal-ness" of Cadian's.

I don't seem to hate the catachan models as much as everyone else although I don't have any as an IG army I do use them as gangers for confrontation (original necromunda).
People have got to remember that these aren't 'humans' like us and have developed in a different atmosphere/environment to ours so the different physical morphology may be entirely appropriate. It makes me laugh how players of a game set in a imaginary universe get so put out by this representation of future mankind (maybe they're jealous that even 'roids couldn't make them that big ). The kits are really useful and with only some basic skills are really easy to convert into a wide variety of usable playing pieces. They would be great if updated but are by no means the worst current GW production miniatures.

My 73rd Strekari Armored Cav regiment will be Catachans done up in desert colors.
I think the models look awesome as hell, I'm just not looking forward to painting that much flesh.
However, my Rasczak's Roughnecks will, naturally, be Cadians. For obvious reasons.

Also: I'm really annoyed now. On the GW blog today there's a picture of Matt from the WHW store teaching some people how to play the new Warhammer, and at the time that photot was taken I was standing literally just a few centimetres to the right of the cameraman. Ah well, it seems I'm not destined to be famous.

Um.
I don't think that term means what you think it means.
Unless you're referring to an actual tropical disease, like malaria, which long sleeves alone are not going to protect you from.

Scuse me. I was thinkng of yellow fever, not jungle fever
Sure long sleeves will protect you! How can they bite you if you don't show them your skin
I kid. They would help though. How would a wifebeater save your life?

A wifebeater wouldn't but neither would long sleeves.
1) exposed face
2) exposed neck
3) some mosquitoes (especially in tropical regions) can bite through fabric anyway.

Here is personal experience from living in asian country... ( tons of mosquitos )
Long sleeves does help. It limits the bite areas to near your face / head / neck where you can visually see or hear the mosquitos.
In other words compare to your limbs , you will be more alert and aware from potential bites.

I never really understood why they got plastics while there are way way more wanted regiments of IG that people want. Out of the main ones catachans have always been at the bottom but for some reason they get plastic.
I mean come on everyone loves steel legion. The tallarn would be just as awesome as well but no we have guys in wife beaters running around.
But to answer the post no Have not once ever seen anyone play them ever.

Vostroyans would be much better, as would steel legion ( DKOK look alikes ) in plastic.
The catachans don't really have any worth-while fluff..The cadians? They basically kick the asses of chaos all the time Automatically Appended Next Post: SaintHazard wrote:A wifebeater wouldn't but neither would long sleeves.

Especially spiders and beetles, which have giant teeth and sharp things on them
Oh, and I forgot, these are space jungles, so they might not even have bugs on them They might just have giant tigers and elephants instead Much more fun to kill than bugs

I've got a few and I just painted my first one a few days ago (using a new scheme and new techniques).
I actually like their look by compare to all the other Guard armies and the background on them is awesome, but new models that look something more like the picture on the Battleforce box (or page 15 for those with the IG Codex) would be nice though...
Also, the other people I play with have said the same thing about the rarity of Catachan players and the LGS doesn't have much of a stock of them (the Battleforce box I got had been sitting there for some time too). I don't care what they say about it though, because it's different from looking at 2-3 differently painted Cadian-based armies (that they have).
